Like I tell my sons, "The real work starts after you pull the trigger". Congrats on finding buck. Wondering with getting so little blood and it running so far is it due to the fact the .243 is kind of small for muley? A .243 is barely big enough for whitetail and muley are typically bigger. IRL I use a .270. Flat shooter with good thump. The kinetic energy delivered by that .270 turns lungs into mush. Didn't you start with a 30-30? That is a "Legend" of a deer gun with plenty of thumping power, but not as much range (200 max). I really hope the game is that detailed. Keep the videos coming DD and Rock on man.
Agreed. The next available rifle in the game seems to be a 7-08, that would already shorten the tracking.
.270 is one of my favorite guns IRL for it’s low recoil and for the stuff you can hunt with it.

Love the vid man! I am getting hesitant to buy this game as everyone is having so much trouble tracking and being Red/Green colorblind its already challenging for me. Really hope they come up with various ways to help people with blood-tracking difficulty settings.
Is it possible to change the settings so you have to press a button to work the bolt and put in a fresh magazine in this game
Hey DD, great video. You do seem to be misunderstanding one of the best and biggest mechanics of this game. The Genetic Potential of the Bucks, Stags you are hunting. If you see a 1 star or 2 star mature animal you need to cull it as it is going to have a low Genetic %. For example your first Whitetail was a 3 star but if you watch your video back you will see he was only a 61% Genetics which is really poor. If you see a adult 3 star then he will likely grow to 4 or even 5 star so best to leave him to reproduce and see if he hits 4 star or higher. You need to systematically remove the Adult and Mature 1 and 2 stars to increase the overall genetic % of your herds. Also you shot a mule deer with a 243 which is a low caliber for a deer of that size and you got a pass through. Your round excited and if you look at the trophy screen you will see little to no cavity damage as it was a pass through. You hit it with the 7mm or 308 and they will drop much faster.Remember its cavity damage that causes bleeding. So if you see a larger portion of RED on the lungs bar in the trophy screen it will have a little blood drop icon next to cavity damage which means the animal bleeds out much faster. Having 100% penetration with no cavity damage happens with bullet pass throughs and results in little to no cavity damage. I hope what I'm trying to explain is making sense. Finally, remember once you fire DO NOT let go of the mouse button. This will make tracking an animal much easier and you dont chamber a second round until you let go of the mouse button. Go and try it out at the shooting range, trust me, it can make seeing things much easier when you take your shot. When you are happy you know where the animal is running to, then left go and chamber a second round.

Hey DD , it is a .243 on a mule deer so maybe that’s why it’s not bleeding as much. what kinda ammo? Also, IRL blood trails are rlly inconsistent from deer to deer. First buck i shot found no blood at all but found deer 100 yds away.

Use the photo mode and use it as an out of body view from above when looking for blood.
This game is too amazing!! It's soo stinkin realistic! And cuz this vid is mostly mule deer, I wanna say Just 1 of the 100 details that I absolutely love about this game. This ones about the muleys. I just LOVE how the mule deer have like that hop run like they do IRL! Not to mention all the other incredible details the game has. In my personal opinion, this game is so much better than cotw. A lot like Classic!

I already liked the fact that you used quite realistic methods to hunt in COTW which differs enough from reality ... but now with this game that unfortunately I do not have the possibility to play your style of play is perfect
the reality in this game is in some things worse than CotW !

Real life, blood tracking can be extremely difficult even when a good shot is made. I have found that out the hard way. And that is one reason to me this game is truly realistic. Love the vids though man!

Is it still realistically able to take down a deer from around 350 yards? The screen lag your getting is that stream or your computer struggling?
If you try to shoot a deer, shoot in the lower part of the lung. Like in real life it will bleed more cause more blood is going to drain from the bullet hole.
Alright, I gotta say. I had a rem 783 and it was not impressive. Magazine didn't latch unless you hit it, bolt was rough and sticky, and past about a hundred yards the bullets strayed way left on every other shot. Aside from that, the 30-30 you used in the first episode did better right? You aren't shooting too far anyway so I'd go back to grandpa's rifle, reliable and stronger than the 243, even if it can't hit at three hundred yards.
Yes, I might have gotten a poor example of the 783 but first impressions and all that. I sold it a long time ago and got myself an M70 and it's been flawless. I'd play this happily but my pc is a turtle, it looks great but I'll stick with te awaroa on my ps4
So I'm really curious cuz I know this game was kind of created by the same people for Cabela's I want to know if the wolves and bears will attack you one thing I liked about the game back then was you can hunt deer and then all the suddenly ly you had to worry about the predator behind you no one has done a video on wolves or bears yet I really want to know how the predators act in this game
I like how there isn’t very much blood I shot a doe with a 30-30 and there was hardly any blood it turned out when we found it was manly bleeding internally

@@comradearsch3895 At minimum settings yes! It will be choppy. Grass and animals will have rough edges (square frames). The recommended hardwares are 4 core CPU and 16gb of RAM RTX 2070 or higher GPU.
I’ve shot multiple deer through the lungs IRL and haven’t had that much blood sometimes which is getting me exited about this game they have really taken there time and put some good thought into the game I also like the spine shots how they just drop also pretty realistic great video!
