𝙃𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙊𝙍𝙔𝘼 𝙉𝙄 𝙏𝘼𝙏𝘼 𝙍𝘼𝙈𝙊𝙉: 𝗔 𝟕𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥
For those who have lived through the 1940s, collective stories from our veterans Sixto Tenoria and Thomas Gil during the Japanese occupation will prompt one to recall specific events or a series of incidents that marked the tumultuous period of World War II in the province.
For younger generations, the history of the Catanduanes Liberation is an important attestation that will remind us that the freedom we enjoy today costs lives dedicated in the pursuit of liberation.
With the expertise of Anthropologist Ramon Felipe Sarmiento, we share this documentation as a preservation of our historical background and to honor the lives of our liberators.
