The Duviri Paradox introduces players to Waframe's fourth open world- a fractured and unknown world composed of strange floating islands ruled by Dominus Thrax where environments and colors shift and transpose as the child king's mood Spirals through Fear, Anger, Joy, Envy, and Sorrow.
In Warframe, players control members of the Tenno, a race of ancient warriors who have awoken from centuries of suspended animation far into Earth's future to find themselves at war in the planetary system with different factions. The Tenno use their powered Warframes along with a variety of weapons and abilities to complete missions. While many of the game's missions use procedurally-generated levels, it also includes large open world areas similar to other massively multiplayer online games, as well as some story-specific missions with fixed level design. The game includes elements of shooting and melee games, parkour, and role-playing to allow players to advance their Tenno with improved gear. The game includes both player versus environment and player versus player elements. It is free-to-play.

This is also the 10year anniversaryđ
i'd install Warframe again, i love it but the grinding is so bad and to get to a competent level you need to throw so much money at so many microtransactions i gave up on it.
U don't NEED to throw money at it. Everything u can buy u can grind. I've been playing constantly for 5+ years and the only things that are pure money only items are the tennogen community cosmetics which are fan made skins which are immune from discounts as the fans get 30% profits from their sale
â@D0NU75 I've put less than ÂŁ30 into the game and I'm at a point where im doing end game content, money is not required at all for the game
The Warframe story quests have always been quite good. I still remember being blown away playing the Second Dream and War Within quests years ago.
That's when I woke up...
Cause the first 100hrs were a snooze fest for me lol
@ZeroChill 215 I ain't gonna lie, it was the same with me however 2 of my mates absolutely grinded the shit out the game and helped me so it was fun, haven't played for a good year tho
warframes the typa game where u come to when ur too tired of bungie's abuse and anti consumer practices with d2
@@jgsource552 Warframe > Destiny any day
â@ZeroChill 215 they are certainly more sparse on story. Better in recent years with some good side quests to fill out that part of the game.
The quality of this free game vs the quality of recent $70 games is insane
Warframe is definitely Digital Extremes' passion project, and I appreciate that greatly.
Lightfall vs Duviri Paradox. Not even close. The sheer creativity and imagination that has gone into Duviri is mental. Bungie should hang their heads in shame.
A lot of people have said that this expansion only further confuses things, but I think that needs to be contextualized. For nearly 10 years, this game starts you out with an intro quest that, while interesting and stylishly updated a couple years ago, says basically nothing about the narrative. Your "character" doesn't say anything until WAY later, and new players trying to relate to any of it is difficult to do. Thus, if you're not hooked on the movement and combat and upgrading (which, to be honest, are fairly obtuse...GREAT and intuitive once you get into a groove, but obtuse to learn), then it's VERY easy to bounce off this. Looters, in general, have been becoming less appealing for many to play, as the entire loop demands repetition and grind, and those are the least appealing things about this game compared to the diversity of activities and story quests.
However...if new players start with the Duviri Paradox path, they immediately have the "Drifter" to play as. A "person"...so right away, much easier to relate to than a voiceless "Warframe," whatever that actually is. They're in a loop of dying over and over, which may not be as easy to relate to, but it's at least uncomfortable. You can customize this person, they have a voice, occasional dialogue to choose, and even though Duviri serves as a kind of prologue if you play it at the beginning, continually going back and visiting them throughout your playthrough eventually connects to the main narrative beautifully and intelligently.
The way this update broadens the scope of this game, not just in narrative but engagement and reward paths, can't be understated.
I think this quest is one of the worst possible ways for someone to get into Warframe. I have no idea how they could possibly think this was a good idea.
The only thing I felt after this quest was confusion. If someone with hundreds of hours is utterly confused and incredulous as to the story trying to be told here, how do you think new players will react? There are major pacing issues. Things slow down and speed up at breakneck speed. By the time I was over, I was simultaneously thinking "Was that it?" and "I'm glad it's finally over".
But mostly, I was thinking "What was the point of this?". Almost nothing is explained. The most we get for what Duviri is, is "emotions and storybook = new world". We don't know anything else. Dominus Thrax might be a Tenno. We don't know. It wasn't discussed much. That pretty much sums up the story of Duviri.
For a quest that's been hyped up for almost 4 years, this was sorely lacking in content and intrigue. There's nothing interesting or worthwhile to do after the quest is over. There's a few melee weapons to get, some drifter stuff to upgrade, a boss to fight, and some other small stuff. That might seem like a decent sized update, but alot of the stuff in the update doesn't even apply to the rest of the game.
The new mount type, the Kaithe? Can't be used anywhere except Duviri.
Drifter Instrinsics? Only Duviri.
Drifter melee? Even if I wanted to use it in other places (I don't, it feels like a half-baked test for their upcoming fantasy game), it's only possible to use it in Duviri.
And then there's Duviri itself. It looks great, obviously. But it's completely empty. You can fish, but there's not much point. You can't mine. You can't capture animals. There's no standing to increase in a hub world to get access to dozens of new weapons and bits and bobs. The only thing to do is the spirals, the roguelike quests. But there's nothing to achieve, so why would people bother doing a tedious and boring grind?
â@Bagel I don't think warframes story is really for you then. It usually takes a bit of digging to understand it. That's the way it has always been.
@@HollowBagel Saying "I don't understand this" after a two hour quest at the beginning is like saying "I barely know what's happening in the first hour or two of Final Fantasy." Sure, it sets up some urgencies and antagonism...like Duviri does...and introduces characters...like Duviri does...and presents problems to overcome...like Duviri does...by the time that first hour or two is over, you're really going to tell me the end boss is who you think it'll be after one or two hours of Final Fantasy? RARELY does that ever happen.
Also...wrong on the Intrinsics, 4 of them apply outside of Duviri: Kaithe can be used in the open worlds, Operator and Drifter gain passive health regen, Operator and Drifter gain 25% extra damage, and a shop is open in your Dormizone which offers resources, arcanes, gun adapters, riven mods, etc., all which are usable anywhere. The Drifter melee weapons ALL have Warframe variant blueprints which can be crafted free, but keep screeching about Soulframe as if this wasn't a good idea to build into Warframe LONG before Soulframe was even conceived.
And nothing to do after? The Incarnon Adapters that can take most early game weapons, which previously had zero reason to invest in, and turn them into endgame beasts, isn't compelling? The rest of the Circuit rewards, like arcanes and Steel Essence, that's not compelling? Not having to farm bosses over and over for older Frame blueprints and getting them guaranteed, that's not compelling? Okay friend, suit yourself.
As I've been asking an increasing amount of folks lately, please enlighten me on what YOU consider "meaningful content" here, because...everything that was added enhanced the game. Was the lore confusing? Of course. All 10 year old games SHOULD have confusing lore. This quest was extremely well written and characterized, and filled in a pretty crucial hole in what was going on while our Operator slept in the Reservoir, and you think that's not important, just because it's a little obtuse and confusing?
Unreal.
Itâs literally a paradox meant to confuse people
@@RedShadowOfSaturnhey man what do you think of kullervo update to duviri
To those who are watching this curiously to Warframe, it is highly recommended , and our community is friendly, and any questions or how to progress are just a question away. It definitely is a great game.
@@ih8theleft it is 100% possible to get any and everything in warframe without spending any real money, as you can trade a variety of items to other players for platinum (the not free currency). There are 3 (technically 4 with duviri) open world areas to do stuff in and the community is pretty helpful and friendly. Thereâs even a q&a section in the chat to ask the ai bot and other people things. Just know that being fully free to play is a grind. A lot of hours and time, but good fun all the same.
@@ih8theleft also. Besides xp boosters, credit boosters (credit is the free currency everyone can earn easily), and resource drop chance boosters. Just about everything else is either time savers or cosmetics. Like 95% cosmetic 2% time savers, and 3% boosters. And the boosters cost a very cheap amount of platinum, so they are not that hard to get if you want one
@@ih8theleft then youâve got a great game to play my friend
Friendly... unless people express displeasure with trannyformers.
@@ih8theleft you can pay for weapons if you want to but a large chunk of them are available to create very early on and the best weapons and upgrades for late game can ONLY be unlocked via gameplay (the Laetum pistol is a great example). You could say it is Pay To Win early game but late game is entirely based around unlocks, not having to pay a dime.
I initially was negative about Duviri and itâs story but I stopped being an idiot and realized it is an absolutely amazing update. Adds so much new story content (although unfinished as of right now) but expands SO MUCH.
Just started playing Warfare again after half a year. God I missed this game. You can play it completely free and get more out of it than most AAA games.
I dumped like 1000+ hours on my switch, very very stupid decision and I regret it to this day.
I sold that switch to fund my first PC. Havent played the game since and that was around 2019. I can not be bothered to start from the very beginning again and get all my mods, prime frames, weapons rivens etc all over again, fuck that. Its basically like playing an MMO for a few years and having 6 fully levelled characters and exclusive mounts and rares and then you loose all of that and have to start as if your account is brand new.
So frustrating. They dont even need cross save or cross play, all they need to do is fucking open migration, its complete bullshit because the Console companies have them prob locked into some bullshit contract agreement where they cant allow console players to migrate their accounts elsewhere, in the past im pretty sure the only migrations that were allowed was PC-Console.
@@MattyBudzzz cross progression is a thing now for all
@lorMarko a thing as in being developed right? Bc I check regularly if the game has it and so far I'm pretty sure it's not in the game yet.
â@MattyBudzzz have u done it?
This is one of THE best Free 2 Play games out there. I only spent 10.00$, joined a clan in the game, and got experience everything the game had to offer on the ps4 years ago. I was hooked after the first boss fight.
I never expected a Warframe video from you, I love this game but I know too well that it's a hard game to understand at first for many. I hope your video will get new players to try and old players to give it another chance
it's a sponsored vid DE is throwing all the money around , this it the 5th sponsored Divuri vid i've seen come out in the last week . it's all about getting paid not getting into WF for him , u can see the "i didn't complete tutorial " thing on his volt's shoulder .
yea I wanted to get into this game but I quit cuz i had no idea what to do/progression seems to take eons
@@dyce3008 it's a very nice game filled with possibilities in term of gameplay style. But one of the biggest reason people drop the game is because the game is so full that you're lost and you don't know what to do, so you're confused then annoyed and finally you drop the game. But even though it's not really a good thing and it's probably one of the only downsides of the game, once you get through that confusing phase and you finally got to discover the full Warframe experience it'll be a really fun game to play regularly or even from time to time to experience new things with the Warframes and weapons available
hes getting paid anyways
Customization in warframe is INSANE. Mods in the regular game can drastically change your frame and weapons. There are builds that bring some stats into the NEGATIVES. An example is the frame nova, where you could build her to speed enemies up, or the opposite and slow them down. Or for shits and giggles you can put negative fire-rate onto a gun which makes it so you fire it once and now it's utterly useless, one shot and done. Or speed it up so much it blows its whole clip in like half a second. Meme builds can be absolutely hilarious and fun
I fucking love warframe literally anything you could want, from ship combat - to a rougelike mode all of it being really good. Along with an amazing story and self contained small stories to specific warframes. This game is literally a jack of all trades master of all.
A Jack of all trades sure but it hasnât mastered anything yet. This game is full of potential but it lacks direction. Durivi Paradox was announced 4 years ago and was only in development for about a year and a half. What we got out of that was not worth âthisâ
except for raids.. play destiny if ya want raids and end game shit. that is all
@@jgsource552 or pvp. Warframe movement makes pvp annoying and not many people play it compared to Crucible in Destiny 2
@@neerxl1355 this is extreme copium from me, but if DE ever decides to pull Warframe out of eternal beta, I want them to polish the shit out of everything in the game.
Hi Luke, I hope you have a good day today! Your content is superb!
Beeing a part of this game and its community since 2014 (sheesh, I feel old), seeing it grow and evolve into something as beautiful as this gives me so much joy. Don't get me wrong, it surely has its bugs, downsides and all but in the end which game hasn't?
I really recommend to give it atleast a try, it's free and invest some hours. Just don't let it overwhelm you by its HUGE amount of content. Take it easy, enjoy your stay and most importantly, HAVE FUN. Greetings to all Tennos out there. Much love and be RNGesus be with you.
Yo I say RNGesus all the time and nobody has a clue what I mean đ€Łđ€Ł may RNGesus bless you!
Warframe is a really interesting game hidden behind a wall of confusion
Back in 2020 i tried coming back to it and i literally had no clue what to do, i used to play a shit ton of Warframe
Same here there wayyy to much to catch up on. Especially when you remember some key mechanics are locked behind items that takes up to weeks to farm and make.
All 10 year old games like this require others to help summarize what to catch up on. As they should.
@@RedShadowOfSaturn i cant really agree, a good game should explain itself and be mindfull on how they grow and change with time
This happes when you just fire and forget updates that make the game bigger in new direction without considering the big picture
One big problem I have with Warframe is that as time goes on more and more content will be added to it.
And as new things get added to the game, the older content are left to gather dust. And as players no longer play the older content, Digital Extreme no longer supports them.
For example, nobody plays Archwing missions nor Railjack missions anymore, and big chunk of obtainable gear comes from those missions.
Digital Extreme just pumps out content what is popular in the community, and right now RogueLike games are the latest trend.
Now, I'm not saying that I hate Warframe nor am I complaining that DE is just following trends and releasing new content, while leaving the older content gathering dust.
It's just that the game is already what, 10 years old(?), so there's a lot of content that DE never bothered polishing further. They just release one thing and then move on to the next thing. PvP for example was interesting addition to the game at one point, but because it was both unpolished and unbalanced, players didn't really like it and so DE moved on from it and never bothered with it again.
Then there's the whole another topic of how grindy the game has become over the years, but that's a complaint for another time.
I played Warframe pretty hardcore for a few years, but my biggest issue is if you take any kind of break from the game, you come back and the new updates basically make you feel like a brand new player again with all the stuff you have to re-figure out. Every time I've tried to pick it back up I'm just so lost I give up after a couple of days.
I didnt expect they let you on the orbiter before starting the Vor's prize quest which used to be the only way to pick your starter warframe and gear. this is my first video of actual new account that started with duviri.
High production value video, very accessible, definitive first reaction - enough background knowledge to contextualise - but still a fresh look.
for some reason i never thought luke would review warframe, great stuff
Because heâs being paid to do so lol. Read the video description
@@chrisstucker1813 dont gotta read if he actually watched the beginning
Well now I have found my new addiction
Im glad this game has real customization. The WWE2K might be the only other game i know that doesnt have lazy color swaps for customization.
Warframe is so underrated game
Especially the fashion
Yay! They are from my hometown and my high-school friend does the PR. So glad yo see this game making waves for years!
My buddy brought this up the other day. Dont think ive touched warframe in years about how i might enjoy the new expansion being very soulslike. Really want to check this out now
Oh just wait the same developers are working on a game called Soulframe and it's concept art looks amazing
@The RottenđŻ Steve moved to soulframe in order to make it, Rebecca was promoted to Content Director Megan is there and I think she took over Reb's old job.
Gris also adds color,it has a watercolor art style you can beat it in like 4-6hours but the music and artstyle make it such a great game
Ah Warframe⊠what a legendary game
The way you described playing this is how I felt l when I first played Destiny 1. Would be awesome to feel that again.
A world where Destiny 2's new light experience is good is a day I desperately dream for.... so I can finally invite friends to play with me ._.
@@thatonepenguinperson618 I feel you on this, the new light experience is pretty bogus. Even with the new Guardian rank system that points player where to go, it still lacks a fun factor.
I must've crossed into a parallel universe because there is no way Luke just made a Warframe video.
Sponsor Video.
Luke shook hand with Wally, I see.
Im a little confused, did you start a new game luke? Or did it put you in this? Just wondering may have missed something
Hey letâs go. Been playing the shit out of warframe for like a week. Played one mission back in 2013/2014 had to actually finish the tutorial. Finding base warframe more fun than Duviri, which is sadly hard to get into for how they handle the souls combat control scheme. Started duviri on the switch and ps5 account grinding base game.
Warframe is, without a doubt, one of the best games I never play. I used to play it a lot. I love it to the point that it is on my âtop 10 favorite gamesâ list. However, the grind is real, thereâs a mountain of other games I want to play in my backlog, my friends donât play it because âew itâs ftp, canât be that good,â and thereâs only so many hours in a day. I do jump in every few years and get obsessed for like 6 months. Iâve been resisting the urge to jump in again because my backlog of great single player experiences is now close to a decade long and growing⊠Iâm thrilled to see that theyâre doing fantastic work though, and Iâm excited for there being that much more to explore for the next time I get bit by the Warframe bug and decide to just not play anything else for an inordinate amount of time.
Edit: also, Excalibro life ftw.
I stopped playing WF 4 years ago and told myself I'd come back after a few major patches. I think its time to come back lol
Bro, I haven't played this game over two years, this looks so crazy now
Ok definitely playing again
How do you sound exactly like T.J. Miller? Great video!
Tenno: meyby we help ?
Lotus: i give him my heand
Tenno: Like help right ?
LOTUS: ...
Tenno: right ? ???
Well put. Guess this game is a a icon.
Luke should try the main story, it's really awesome once you reach there.
Fun fact: the character in the cinematic looks like Hayden Tenno from the game Dark Sector
Makes sense since DE made Dark Sector.
Ah snif the void
i feel it
Super excited for their new ip
They must have got everyone to play this, keep seeing videos about it today. Might reinstall and give it a go, been a while.
I mean when you spend millions of dollars on a free update you would at least want as many people to play it as possible.
@@MEYH3M đ i would hope so.
Cool game, i have couple hours in it (3000 hours and still playing XD)
I haven't played this game in like three to four years, it's insane how much they have added
And that's all about it, just a breath
Really makes you think wtf triple A game developers are on
Was anyone able to get the code to work? New player on Xbox here, tried the code like 6 different times, made sure it was spelled correctly and everything, yet it still didnât work.
I'm currently softlocked out of the game because of the archons in the New War quest. Introducing new and less fun movement mechanics for a handful of characters we never play again, such well thought out game design
Not only is it free 2 playback the in game trade system is the absolute best in the business...you can literally sell stuff for platinum and buy whatever ya want...no real money spent. Best game made period!
A little late to the video, but what you've got to remember is Digital Extremes created (or at least worked on) the Unreal engine
I played this years ago, but the only thing I hated was the mastery system. The challenges to rank up I just couldn't complete on console. It was extremely difficult to hit the moving things. I only got to level 17 I think.
Only thing missing still is cross save tbh
I have like 3000 hours in Warframe. Fashion frame is the endgame, it's safe to say :)
Bit of a clunky video, but easily worth the watch, thanks!
Did vampire survivors cause a massive shift in the industry? I've seen WAY more roguelike modes recently being developed for games that I never would've expected them in.
I think it started even further back with things like Binding of Isaac and Dead Cells. Roguelike is huge in the indie scene, but I think vampire survivors definitely introduced more people to the genre at a very good price.
starter warframes : anakin skywalker, magneto, and emperor palatine.
yes its pedro pascal, and he is going to save a magical small doll from unsurmountable odds.
Warframe players will tell you that cosmetic customization, aka FashionFrame, is the true endgame of Warframe.
I'd like to challenge you on the "You can grind for customization"
You can in certain instances through holidays and events. Otherwise you need the premium currency.
Without a dedicated marketplace system for premium currency trading you HAVE to rely on waiting for others to come to you to trade for premium currency.
That tedium has fueled third party market sites when DE, themselves, should bear that system.
That is my biggest negative in Warframe.
I always come back to warframe and itâs always good fun
My favorite game, all I been playing the last 2,000 days I'm legendary 3 in mr.
Uploaded a video on Warframe three hours after TheLazyPeon did. What are the odds đ
the thing I hate about warframe is that after playing it, every other game feels so slow in movement. Especially because I play volt
If they cared about how easy it for returning players, they would let you make more than one character. Thatâs why I havenât come back. Iâd have to make another whole pan profile
The no need to go to fancy is a lie. The true endgame is fashion frame.
Rebecca herself complains about problems on Twitter and she is the creative director of the game. So, yeah, it has a very good set of developer and publisher tbh
This looks amazing. I haven't been this intrigued by a game since Spiderman PS4.
It is amazing but just know that outside of Duviri the story doesnât get super deep and intriguing till âThe Second Dreamâ quest which can take anywhere from 25-70 hours to reach based on how you play. Not to say everything beforehand is bad, just know the best the game has to offer doesnât start till that point.

Depends on how you build yourself and the level of mission you are in. Later planets can provide a challenge.
@@dpray96 thank bro. I just remember it being to easy but I'll give it a shot
@@Bloodbornepro. Np, I can acknowledge that early planets have a low level range like Mercury.

nothing has changed
Made me install it again, needed a reminder that it was there. And hmm, at the end of the video, let me tell you, I don't have boobs, but it looked like you were grabbing them anyway lol
The only thing warframe is missing is a good engine. The current engine holds it back so much canât even play it anymore. Have hope for whatever comes after warframe.

As a veteran warframe player it saddens me the duviri paradox spoils the shit out of the the other quests in the game for new players
I initially was pretty mad about it but after looking back at the quest and the language utilized, it doesnât outright spoil a whole lot. Yes Transference in particular was spoiled but the Tenno being human is never explained and given how it is told it wonât click for people that it is a spoiler until it is explained again later. In a way itâs kind of smart because it confuses and intrigues people without ruining too much.
@@Sci-Fi_Freak_YT it spoils the fact that the warframes are controlled by someone else that is the biggest spoiler in the game the thing warframe players have managed to keep a pretty good secret to new players for years the thing the socked every warframe player when it was revealed it's the thing warframe players would watch new players stream to see the reaction and de just decided nah fuck it let's just ruin one of the best moments in the game
@@MrDekasOne definitely true, but again doesnât spoil everything because other questions are still left for the player to experience later. I get the anger (honestly I still kind of am) but nothing can be changed now, itâs best to accept it.
I think it kinda walks the line of spoilers but it will recontextualize some later reveals in a way that I think will be really cool.
Starring pedro pascal
its nice to hear such positive things about this expansion from a new player.
Personally as a 7 year veteran of the game I DESPISED this expansion, from my lens it was needlessly long and tedious with very repetitive gameplay and I caught myself thinking "will this ever end" a few times.
eventually the rewards for finishing the quest and all the other quests and unlocking the steel path is worth it but ultimately it just felt like a 3 hour time sink that was not that enjoyable, since the gameplay I was exposed to is the same as the gameplay in all the other missions.
As a concept it was VERY cool and a great introduction for new players, it also helped tie in different things from later quests too which I liked, however ultimately the negatives for me outweighed the positives, and while I fully support expanding content for newer players cause that's warframes biggest flaw, for me the duviri paradox was just a complete miss.
Thanks Tencent
Plays the game in 144fps but the video is not 60fps
This game needs a new engine, the continue to have fun ideas but most of the stuff could benefit from nvm this shit be broke sometimes
New players praising the game as always lol problem with this game is they are so focused at new content for new players everything. Nothing is new about them streamlining new player content same old warframe..if youâve never played before or gotten to end game then def give it a shot
"Say whatever you think?" Yea right. You got sponsored so it better be a mostly positive review or else you won't ever get another sponsor.
Job?????
As someone who came from Monster Hunter and tried Warframe I was shocked at how long it takes to build things like weapons and armor in this game, literal hours and days felt pretty scammy.
I have 1700+ hours in this game and I stand by that statement
it would be scammy if you weren't able to build hundreds of items at the same time. you could literally grab 100 weapon blueprints and build them all at the same time.
@@MEYH3M That's the thing most people don't realize at first is while you can only craft one of the same blueprint at a time, you can craft as many blueprints at the same time as you want.
@Stone What I would do is set things I don't need immediately to craft, and then let it sit in the foundry built until I needed it then there's no wait.
Really? for me it was a breath of stale repetitive air
is this an ad?
Yes
The second I saw that resources and characters take DAYS to create, I quit
The only time that causes any problems is when you've been playing thousands of hours and have literally nothing to do but wait for a thing to build, and even then...by that point, you should probably be playing less anyway.
Newer players have more than enough to keep themselves busy waiting a few days for a Warframe to finish cooking.
@@RedShadowOfSaturn Plus you can craft multiple varied things at once.
It is a lot less annoying than it seems at first. You have plenty of things to do in the meantime.
Fire :-(
Nice review. The thing with this expansion is it doesnt reflect the main game state and neither make a better job in explaining the beginning of the story of warframe to new players. New players will play Duviri and later they will explore the rest of the game and say "oh, things are changing, again.." This change of gameplay will not help new players to understand warframe. You should upload the video in 60fps. Motion scenes are bad in 30fps
How tf you play warframe bru? Thereâs like sensory overload and I need a degree nd masters and 25 years to get a new frame and weapons.
You get used to it.
