  • Had this for about 6 months now and used on a holiday in Teneriffe and had a few fish, got another holiday at the end of the month, hopefully get some footage catching fish. Check out my honest impartial review.

Nice to read an unbiased honest review rather than one from a direct affiliate of rigged and ready who all seem to praise everything R&R do. No company or product is perfect, and your pointing out the reasonably minor flaws is more likely to sway me into buying one of their travel rod range than any of the reviews I have so far read. Thanks.

Glad you like it. Used on holiday was fine. A couple of rings went on wife’s Rod end RnR replaced free as per their guarantee.

Hi, I'm thinking of buying 2 world traveler rods for my son and me. Would I be right in thinking the traveler like what you got for wife, is basically the X5 without the fly gear?
    Thanks.

An objective and useful review. Thank you .. I have subscribed!
1:45 I notice that you had the fly reel loaded with a line and wondered if you had tried casting with it as a fly rod, and if so what line weight?
The rod appears to be rated either #5/6 or #6/7 depending on the configuration.

Hi. I’ve not used the fly section yet. I keep the rod in the car and if I go fly fishing and my rod or reel breaks it’s intended as a spare. If I have a successful day I may try it out. I’ll post if I do. Cheers

Are you able to leave the rod set up in that bag like people do with carp rods?
