Great interview. I bought her album when it first dropped, I was like damn, she sound like Rakim. I remember in that era, everybody was calling each other beat biters. When in actuality, majority of producers were using the same samples and beats. The difference between them were they were freaking the beats and samples in their own unique way. I got an attitude sounds nothing like Top Billing. If anything, attitude sounds like a reworked beat of Dana Dane With Fame, another Hurby production. Hurby doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Hopefully he’ll start to do interviews.

This was during the time before making the transition from shopping at the Rated G department store chains like Ames and Seers to the Rated Anything major stores in the malls. I've always wanted to by Ante's albums because I've always been in love with that braggadocios era of hip hop which was actually through the roof in the late 80's. Anyway, her albums deserve a reissue. Antoinette still in effect and still booming.
