5th gen PLR Procharged Hemi and a 6th gen PLR Procharged Hemi, I sense a trend taking off and maybe a sub 4 on the street?!! Looking good fella's. Note to filmer/editor, the volume needs help in a big way.

He's extremely humble, which is exactly why the wife and I are fans. Not the typical cocky ass "I feel I have the fastest car here" after they make one ok pass, which is ironic because more than not Ryan's just about the only one that should, or could I should say, say it and it not just be BS talking while all jacked on adrenaline, or just straight out happy their car actually went down.
I've been a fan ever since he came on the show and it's based entirely on his attitude. I would like to see him in the NHRA but professional drag racing doesn't pay as well.
He’s actually been helping the 405 for years even before the list - have a look in the early episodes where they race in front of his shop and he provides look out for them

@@n01z3 The only drawback is that turbo engines are easier on parts and are generally considered better suite for the street than prochargers

Obviously the linear power curve and near turbo-like attitude of the centrifugal supercharger in the mid range makes tuning predictable, but are timing changes enough at the 600ft to make it run out the back like a Turbo powered car ? It always seems like a battle of feet. Nitrous to 60ft, Blower cars 330 to 660ft and Turbo cars running 600ft+ like a gorilla on fire. For 1/8 mile, I would go Procharger all day long, but for 1/4 mile, I still feel that Turbos are nearly untouchable after the 660 (on average) and accelerate right to the 1320. What am I missing with the new Procharger boost curves sudden improvements and Hemi headed combos ? Everyone seems to be headed (no pun intended) THAT way.
I think the problem with Pro Chargers in the beginning was the drive was fragile, it would break everytime you touch the limiter, they got that worked out now. It doesn't seem that the supercharger is going to make the same steam as twins, I mean how much HP do you lose right off the bat spinning that supercharger? The twins are almost free to spin minus some exhaust restrictions that probably decreases as impeller RPM's increase. My guess is that the twins fail on the drivabilty side of things, too easy for the guy in the other lane to burn you down or quick tree you, the supercharger gets up on the convertor so much better. It will be interesting to see how things work out for that car. Also notice how superchargers go with a hemi and twins go with 481x's?? Whats wrong with twins on a hemi?? I can see moving away from the 481x, I think the valvetrain is a little weak yet.

A part of me is worried the updated fireball won't be as quick as the turbo version. It just seems Ryan and the team and such a good handle of the car and that's how the dominated everyone. However, I trust Ryan knows what is best. Also stands to reason that even Dave has now switched back to Pro-charger. The big dogs must know something! Can't wait to see this beast on the street! good luck guys.
The way the rules are now and the giant leaps Procharger has made in the last few years, just about everyone is switching. Same combo just set the RVW WR twice in the past month. A turbo car at the same weight and no boost limit or turbo size would still absolutely eat up any blower or nitrous car. But blower and definitely not nitrous combos cant make anywhere close to the same power as a turbo car hence the increasing regulations for parity.
@@bmartinTA this is his street car, the grey one is his rvw/npk car. Having the same combo just makes it easier to switch parts between the 2

Why the sudden change from twins to procharger? On the street I can understand it, where you can't really use 4000 hp, and the quicker spool up helps. But why use it in your track car as well? Does it give that big of a weight advantage? Thanks for the answer!
I think the procharger setup probably is better for 660 racing then turbos
Everyone changing their setups, Axman was the fastest ive ever seen on street, and now everyone playing catch-up. Axman has 526 proline hemi with procharger and was running 4.20-4.30 at mega cash days. So Ryan martin will be king again soon. Daddy dave also switched to this setup. Crazy seeing all my turbo boys switching teams
Love the new look with the new headlights and zoomies etc. I thought he might leave the original fireball twin turbo but nope!

I would've gone with a big single turbo instead with nitrous to spool it up if you were looking for more power
Isnt about more power, its about controlling power and tunability. Also, no more staging games and getting burned down. ProChargers are overall a better, more user friendly package.

Yes. It really does. The 481 is a monster with turbos but makes a bad pro charger motor. So with the pro charger switch came the hemi!! But I’m not gonna lie. So far I love it.

He didn't like how far away the over head control box was to reach. The shut wasn't right plus he kinda pist at the starter. Also did you see how he was not happy were the seat belts were aswell. These can be easy fix it happens on a new build you to be fitted to the car. I know when we built the dirt track car it was hell to set everything up for the driver.
I was def happy with the work. They are my go to guys. There was a few things that needed addressed as there always is on a major change over. In no way was I unhappy. Maybe aggravated at the starter but not at the work or the guys busting their ass to give me a great car. We do most of our stuff but those guys did a major undertaking on the chassis for me and I might have been a little bit frustrated with the issues cuz we were leaving going straight to the track that night. But overall. They killed it and did it exactly how I wanted.
Procharger over twins, thats unexpected considering how the car was so successful with turbos.

The plan was always for the new car to run npk and the fireball for street. Having both cars close to the same helps with spare parts, tuning , ect.

That's one bad ass car, but it was so successful with the twin turbo 481x , why fix "something that really isnt broke?
Trust me. This was a hard decision. But with them throwing weight at us when we did well with turbos. It made this combo very appealing for the weight difference. Almost 400lbs less and that’s a lot better on parts all the way around.

Chrysler Hemi for the win. Most people don't even know the Chrysler Hemi started in the late 1940's and 50's.
Most people don't know but it is completely different than the hemi of the old days
It's not actually a Chrysler motor it's just a hemi design
