  • This is an interesting concept. Direction of angular velocity is taken as perpendicular to plane of rotation i.e. along axis of rotation. It has physical significance and I have discussed it in this video. This video will make the concept saral for all students.

    but i have a doubt
    If we mark a point on a disc and then rotate the disc about an axis passing through its center then after one rotation will the value of angular displacement be zero? since displacement depends on initial and final points , if they become same then won't it be zero? some sources say that it will be 2 pi radians

    Sir for centripetal acceleration we can derivate it by taking magnitude of velocity constant but how even the velocity is variable by its magnitude its centripetal acceleration remains v2/r?????

    • @shiksha4157
      @shiksha4157  Před 8 měsíci

      Centripetal acceleration is also variable because it’s direction is changing at every point. To understand this, draw a circle and mark different points on it. From each point draw radius and it’s direction towards the centre. There you observe the direction of centripetal acceleration at that point. It is different at every point.

      It has been explained in the video. Perpendicular direction is the one and only common direction for all particles. Hence it is taken to be in the direction of angular velocity.

      When someone ask u...what is the direction of angular velocity then u cannot ans it has many directions...it is not logical...so we chose perpendicular because it is common for all particles!

    Sir I hope you are reading this. Thanks for the video sir. I watched the video, but my questions are -
    1) Angles covered by points A, B, C (in a given time) are same. But why should their directions be the same? According to what rule/ logic they should all have same direction??
    2) Even if all of them have same direction, how can we human beings decide the direction? ?
    Please answer Sir.

  • @benYaakov

    How angular velocity is same for different positions ?
    You can say angular speed may be same . But not angular velocity . So whole explanation is wrong .

    • @sugamnema9103
      @sugamnema9103 Před 2 lety

      Bro, linear velocity is changing as tangent is different for different point thus because of direction linear velocity is changing don't confuse it by angular velocity...in angular velocity we get direction by right hand rule or screw rule. The direction we get here is perpendicular to plane of rotation,as you can see in 8:18 perpendicular drawn gives same direction for every point. Thus velocity is same you can also feel it... we know angular velocity is change in angle per unit time.Now in an instance say T every point in disk will rotate same angle it cant be that some rotate 5 deg and other 3 deg at same time otherwise distance between them will change.. i hope you get my point

    • @benYaakov
      @benYaakov Před 2 lety

      @@sugamnema9103 angular displacement is vector .
      For rates of change of different angles angles (angular displacement vector ) , we get different angular velocities .
