THE DOORS, "WHEN YOUR STRANGE". I first heard this band in 1967 with their hit."LIGHT MY FIRE" long version, no watered down A.M. radio cutting out music solos. More Doors, "L.A. WOMAN", "ROADHOUSE BLUES", "BACK DOOR MAN", "CHRYSTAL SHIP", "THE END".
People are strange, and when you are strange, people look at each other differently, two different mindset.

I think this song is a lonely person trying to interpret the world through unfamiliar eyes. If you let yourself become a stranger people will seem strange, you will then distance yourself from people and in doing so you become unwanted, in turn you paint a picture of women/men being wicked, not because there is anything wrong with you but because you see something wrong with them for being "strange". Its a false equivalency that you're projecting on them. In a sense this is a song about a depressed person dealing with their problems in the worst way.
What Jim Morrison meant, because of the times, he and the rest of society were coming out of the 40's and 50's, during those decades people had a A LOT loneliness. You do not understand how much loneliness and hard times there were. The world was a mess, despite it's supposed "Squeaky Clean" appearance. People were terribly lonely, there was A LOT of alcoholism at the time. People were "individually" lonely. This is hard to explain. And there were many reasons for this. Extreme mean, controlling people at the time. I'll leave it at that for the time.
