- Join me, the general of the minutemen, as we make the commonwealth safer one settlement at time. Today, we're tackling Oberland Station, a small, central settlement on the edge of an abandoned railroad and surrounded by the Charles River.
We'll talk about how we would live in the post-apocalypse, the importance of crop diversity, hate on the Institute, and watch Preston Garvey magically teleport to a rooftop.

I’m not one of the lucky girls who has gamer girlfriends in real life so I am so excited to have found your channel! It feels like a hangout.
This is so sweet, thank you for hanging out with me
Get you some lesbian friends. We love playing these games

Great video, and the settlement looks perfect. It was a bit like watching Bob Ross painting video, but in Fallout.
"And maybe over here....a happy little missile turret lives, next to this heavy laser turret"
This is the greatest compliment, thank you
@@Tijuanabill Aww you beat me to it!
Hit it on the button with this comment because I was thinking about Bob Ross too and may he sleep in peace.
Struggling with clipping logic and asking myself "why do I like this game?" is the most relatable thing I've seen in a long time. Great build, I loved watching this!
Yea, it definitely shows that they originally didn't even intend to make settlement building an actual thing. Did you know tho' that you can make objects touch a doormat or other types of rugs and then you can hold E to move the entire thing together with the doormat. It makes it much easier to fit in things that normally don't wanna clip together or are generally being a pain to put on the spot you want.
I'm happy to see this settlement has gotten some help.
Exit convo before he sends us to another! Quickly, we got childrens to save!
@@michaelflammer3622 Speaking of saving, I just got word another settlement is under attack from feral ghouls. They can certainly use some saving. Here... Let me mark the location on your map.
@@prestongarvey5668 I got ur hat, Preston. Now it's YOU the one that needs to help a settlement. Here, i'll mark it on your map.
preston, im starting to think that youre behind these settlement attacks… 🤔
You popped up as a recommended video. This has been so relaxing to watching and listen while I'm at work and you've also given me inspiration on how to go about touching up my settlements and making them actually feel homey and not just plop a store here, food and turrets. Thank you! Keep this up!
Just because you are surviving the apocalypse, does not mean you have to sacrifice living well.
Do love your builds
After so many mitten squad videos (rip) and nerbit challenge runs it’s nice to just sit back from time to time and build a settlement that desperately needed it
Especially one without any mods. Cordless vii was great but this is something else
Is mitten squad dead??? I keep seeing ppl say rip
@@prod.lil_shortbus4750 He sadly passed away a bit ago
@dexter9571 what the hellllll, how?? I thought he was doing good, he had just got outa rehab
I actually love this, it reminds me of how I used to build homes in the sims games, but doing it in fallout 4 just adds a whole new feel, turning the wasteland into something beautiful again is so cool
I really hope this becomes a series. I love this so much. Both this and the tenpines bluff one. Your fallout content just has such a wholesome vibe I love it.
If there's an apocalypse, I hope I'm in your settlement. You're gonna spoil your settlers making it too nice, but... It's nice to watch you make the wasteland classy! 👍
THIS IS THE SWEETEST STUFF IVE EVER SEEN FOR FALLOUT 4
My only complaint is that your channel is new and I can’t binge on it for months! Can’t wait to see many more videos from you 😊
This was so relaxing. I could watch you build settlements and get lost in the immersion all day.
I’m a huge fan of FO4 settlement builds and man it is difficult to find them these days that aren’t years old. You randomly popped up and it was an insta-sub for me. Will be binging your builds for sure keep it up!
Also, if you’re ever looking for inspiration or tips: Sar Deliac has some amazing pure vanilla no mod settlement building videos and techniques. I don’t think he builds much anymore, but he was one of the best.
I love fallout and seeing someone that also enjoys settlement building and posting it in 2024, I’m very supportive. Subbed
Before today I would have never considered Fallout cozy, this is so soothing to watch and you give me so many decoration ideas. I'm the kind of player that builds purely functional so this is an eye opener. Thank you!
If you turn of an on the generator it has several levels of sound an you can get it to go quieter, do that out of build mode
THIS IS GREAT TO KNOW!!
700+ hours in the game, I love building and I never noticed that >_<
Thanks! I often had to go out of my way to find a remote place for the generators cos I hate the noise, especially close to living quarters and such.
@@NixHarpingerbro, me too, been playing since like a month after it came out and never knew this 💀💀💀
My hometown of Waltham is basically where Oberland is located (I don't know where that name came from), so seeing people build here is always nice. You knocked it out of the park. Super immersive, great layout, and functional. Kudos!
I love your videos because you care about the settlers instead of just recruiting them and then ignoring them.
I don’t have a lot of time to watch your videos, but when I do it’s for background because I love the sound of your voice. Or watching them before I sleep.
It’s comforting.
My only issue is that I feel guilty for not actually sitting down to watch this uninterrupted, because I’m always losing my place and waking up to a Sims video or something.
It’s a never ending cycle.
😂
I’m so glad you’re enjoying them, however works for you! Fun fact, I am a barista voice on IMissMyCafe.com in case you ever want more background sounds with voices 🤗
Didn't know people still did settlement builds in F4. Oxhorn had some fire builds back when F4 was new
I really like the way you explain your thought process as you build. And like other commenters said, it was very relaxing.
I just learned I can assign beds to settlers, lol. This has been the most pleasant and relatable settlement build I've seen so far. Good job!
So wholesome and soothing! I play them over and over while I’m playing through the game….and while working 😂
I haven't played fo4 in years, but watching you chill and build a settlement made me come back to do the same. Thank you!
Oberland was always my home away from home. I always loved just checking in with the ladies every once and a while.
8:04 I'm pretty sure those two ladies are sisters. I usually don't build up Oberland Station so it's just them...I've been sent to help before with a kidnapping and the remaining woman says "Help! My sister has been kidnapped!" I could be wrong...
How has this channel never popped up on my recommended before?! Absolute treat to watch you play. There is such a simplicity to watch someone just express there creativity. Will definitely be subscribing. Also this has inspired me to make my oberland station
This is piece of art. I am so happy to watch someone with art talent building a settlement. It gave me so much inspiration for building my own pretty settlement. :3
I just heard Supervisor Brown at Greygarden say "mute-fruit". The Mister Handys would know.
Really enjoying this settlement-building content! You don't often see this rp- and lore-focused type build videos, so thanks for making them.
Oberland and Ten pines are my favorite raider settlements, this video was amazing, can't wait for more of these
I’m amazed at how fast you can put all that together and it look GOOD. I never get to really doing the settlements properly because I never really know how to start. You’ve inspired me tbh. That’s what I’m going to do tomorrow - build up settlements!
Out of the many times enjoying this game, never knew the name of the river, thanks for sharing it.
I found this to be lovely cosy watching. I particularly enjoy the simplicity of no mods. Keeping things basic and simple. Sometimes with dec mods etc i get overwhelmed by choice. Love this its like watching fallout sims build
Please continue doing these! I never really invested time into settlement building. But these videos are giving me great ideas!
Oberland station is one of my favourite settlements. I love making a small farming community here.
At 1:12:00 A tip with mixing Scaffolding is that the scaffolding floors will snap to small floor pieces from other sets (either 1x1 or 1x2) pieces found in the concrete, barn or warehouse floor sets however they do not snap to the full size floor pieces so you sometimes need to snap a small floor alongside to then be able to place a scaffolding floor in line with a large floor piece.
I enjoy your settlement videos. At Oberland I made the upstairs nice, added a bathroom with bathtub in a small prefab building, dressed the ladies in pretty dresses, and built myself a living area in the lower level that I access using the fast travel mat.
LOVE the settlement building content. Finally beat the game for the first time last weekend, I always just got sidetracked with my little villages. Soooo excited to be recommended someone in 2024 who shares the love :)
Ive just found your videoes and i love them so much. I love that you build everything with individual settlers in mind. I built a lovely little settlement at oberland and used the box cars on the tracks as the actual stores. It was very cute. I cant wait to binge the rest of your videos and see whats to come.
Watching your videos makes me so excited to go build! I love the combinations of items and materials you pick out, very thoughtful. I've started mixing different walls together the way you do for the texture and it looks so much better.
It’s so amazing to see how many people play this game still. Really makes me great to be able to see any up to date builds to compare my settlements with! Subbed
Taking settlement building to a whole new level (at least for me), love watching this
Fo4 + oberland + your thumbnail welcomed me in. And it was worth it. Your whole vibe and personality made it worth the watch. And loved the build.
So refreshing to find new build videos! Thank you for these and for using the full length. Fallout 4 is my favorite game and these are fun to watch when I can’t play. Keep it up 💕
You need Place Everywhere mod and Scrap Everything, I just found your channel and I really love it
Place Everywhere is good, but Scrap Everything breaks stuff and will lead to your game crashing/save corruption.
There are ways to do what you want without mods. Skooled zone has tutorials from beginner to master
@@michaelstalker5724 For the most part true, but not for everything.
@@WebShaman01 I use the "Spring Cleaning" mod. I have ran the game for hundreds of hours with several dozen other mods and I didn't have any crashing issues. The only problem with Spring Cleaning is that it makes some natural floors unusable; like the floor in the "guard tower" in Oberland for example can't be placed on. Otherwise it is great! You can get rid of pretty much everything.
@@NixHarpinger It "breaks" how the cell spawns things, which leads eventually to cell corruption, and then the save(s). Especially noticeable on PS4/5, but it can happen to PC as well. It's a well documented occurence. As I have thousands of hours on both PC and PS4/5, I can assure you that it will eventually bork your game.
This was so fun to watch, I love building settlements to look comfy and lived in and this gave me so much inspiration ❤
These settlement builds are so relaxing. I've been watching them while I crochet 😆
Your voice is so relaxing... And I'm loving the longer settlement builds!
Stumbled upon this while I fighting a cold and it’s just what I needed! Nice cosy settlement building content, like a warm bowl of soup xx
Very relaxing to watch you make these videos. I really enjoy how excited you get when you like something that you’ve made. Keep it up, looking forward to your next settlement videos.
First time in a while my recommendations have pulled through like this! Oberland station and really all the settlements along the tracks to Boston proper are my favorites! I love that you build in vanilla and for realism I do the same thing!
I really like watching your settlement creation videos, especially seeing some of your interesting or creative solutions to some of the issues with with an unmodded playthrough. I also like to build and have it look like it fits thematically in the game world, and like the minutemen are really coming back and rebuilding civilization - and more than just some wooden shacks.Fantastic work!
I love how you build! It feels immersive. After i have been playing fallout 76 all these years, its way too hard for me to go back and build in 4 just because of the build menu set up but i still love watching others build. It helps to give my own creativity a stir.
Loved the peaceful build in one of my favorite games. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
Love this build! Even after 1000 hours I still like to mix it up: go adventuring a bit, just to get resources and skill points, lol, and then return and build. I go slowly without regard to Preston. I build out one after another in the Northwest and gradually expand. Oberland and Taffington are my first two where I break out of that core area.
Your build video was enjoyable and relaxing. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you do more!
I'm about 2 days into my very first play through and I'm doing the same. I have Sanctuary, Ten Pines, Oberland and Sunshine Tidings going right now and watching these videos has really inspired me. I've messed around with the building a little bit but it honestly seemed intimidating because it doesn't always feel very intuitive. Now I can really see how things work. Once I get my first four settlements squared away I'll start going one at a time. Loving this game and these videos are great!
Your videos are so calming I actually cannot get enough of them so glad you popped up on my recommended 😊
My favorite thing to add to this settlement is some boxcars and repurpose them into small homes, and even make one into a little office space for a Minuteman who stays on watch and operates artillery. I keep the settlement rather small, with only 5 settlers at most.
Oo boxcars would be so cute here!
I thought for sure "fallout 4 oberland build" would've turned up nothing useful but look at this! wonderful work, and immediately made me regret sending one of the ladies out to provision... whoops
i never understood the shack wall stuff until watching you do it, i like the mix of those + standard walls. and the decorating is wonderful; i need to reassess my "make a prefab and stuff it with beds" approach
I enjoy watching people build camps everyone has their own style and taste when it comes to what what kind of aesthetic they’d like to build !
Nice work, I think it is quite refreshing to watch new videos on older games that I still like playing.
Fantastic, chill vid. Gonna be tuning in 👍
I love that I found your channel! I can see myself watching your videos over and over. I love this part of fo4 and your video feels like a hug ❤
Loved how this turned out.
Looks fantastic. This is a very compact semi difficult area to design. You're awesome!
This is literally so cool. Please keep doing these videos :)
Love the chill vibe of your videos. Good immersion too.
i was gonna search more of a hardcore gamer builds vibe but i'm glad i clicked on this video, it reminds me whenever my gf is playing the sims just to build stuff, definitely sharing this to her.
I love that you're playing without mods. I tried very hard to do that recently and Oberland is the exact point that I gave up. The clipping there is so inexplicably frustrating that I was resorting to rug-tricking everything into place so I just bit the bullet and threw in a place anywhere mod. Entirely because of Oberland. Your persistence is very impressive, and the result was worth all the frustration.
I’m not going to lie, I’ve been using this video as a sleeping aid. You are so peaceful and gentle throughout the process and I love it! Please do more settlement builds soon!
This is super clever! Nicely done.
been on a fallout content binge the past couple days. Videos like this is what makes me want to pick up the game again. Settlement building really is something else
I love to watch nice, calm content like this while I work on knitting/crocheting little gifts. But after stumbling on this vid (and immediately subscribing) today, now I want to sit and spend about 8 hours doing a build! Anyway, thank you - I love your commentary and build decisions ;-) Also, Preston climbed up on that shack to get a good view of who needs help and where some additional resources might be found. Also to check for approaching raiders. LOL
Absolutely love your builds
absolutely loved the video! instant subscribe!
Absolutely loved this video. Subscribed.

I loved watching you build. More of this please.
This came together so nicely! Just subbed when I saw you've done some other settlement builds, can't wait to see more ^^
I’m so happy to have found your channel! I recently started playing again and I’m really into settlement building now :) learning so much from you
Loved it, thanks for the video :)
I’m really impressed. You created something great with the fallouts limited building function 😂 I enjoyed watching. Thank you for sharing.
I am so glad that youtube suggested me a fellow cozy Fallout player! I loved building settlements throughout the game and I love your approach to decorating! Subscribed immediately :)
Thank you! Welcome aboard 🫡
You have inspired me to redownload Fallout 4. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. Subbing!
So relaxing, love these videos
Love your build style and your voice is incredibly soothing lol
Nice. I've never mastered the classic scrappy fallout look, which is the most difficult.
Given the name, I would think tato plants are a cross between potatoes and tomatoes. However, I think plants need to be in the same family. Tomatoes are nightshades, so maybe they're a cross between like eggplants and tomatoes? Mutfruit could be any combo of stone fruit. Maybe plums and something else...idk. I say Mute Fruit.
After reading some lore: indeed they are a cross between potatoes and tomatoes. Both of which are extinct in the setting of FO4.
Further edit: According to the Fandom Wiki it is pronounced Mute Fruit. Because it's a mutated fruit.
Canonically they are indeed a result of cross-pollination between tomatoes and potatoes. And if you ever ask yourself "How is that possible?" in a Fallout universe, the answer is - as always - cos RADs! xd
Potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants are all common nightshades
this…this is the content i needed in my life
i like this! i got your video in my recommended after watching other settlement builds in fo4. I like your style of video, the narration and voicing your thought process with each design element, seeing everything snap together is very satisfying. And I that you're making your own lore for your settlements and the people who live there. I'd love to see you tackle a settlement with a larger area like the Nuka-World Red Rocket or Taftington Boathouse to see what you'd do with the water element the reservoir provides.
This settlement is very special, although it has very little space, it attracts many settlers and they will almost always complain about lack of beds. From the beginning I have built several buildings with beds so that they would be happy, I love those characters very much.
This …was amazing.
Oberland St is always a place I’ve never invested much more than basics into. To see this take shape like you did it is just awesome! I think it’s time I pay Oberland a visit
If I had to pick somewhere to live in fallout, this would absolutely be a top pick!
Thank you for sharing your videos it gives me a lot of ideas
I love the way you build your settlements, it reminds me of my own style, since the main character is from before the war I always tried to give my settlers the thing my character had. Like power in every house, or running water, stuff like that.
This was my first video and I love it, this is awesome
I just found your channel, but I plan on binging alllll your settlement building videos!! Your vibes are so chill & the videos are nice to have on while I play games :)
Calming content, charming host. All in all, Zen AF.
