Mirrors trick only works if the cars are the same length. A better strategy is to make sure your tailight is even with the other car tailight. Try to find a reference inside your car that helps you with that.

Great video for beginners. I do this everyday atleast five times driving around my city and my car doesn't even have the basic parking sensors. I watch through the side quarter glass and do it. After a few successful takes, it becomes easy like muscle memory

Good job. My rule is simple. I wait till my rear corner that's furthest from the curb is lined up with the front corner furthest from curb of the car behind me and then I straighten out wheel. Works like a charm.
This is almost exactly how my autoschool taught me. First you line up the mirror with the door knob of the car in front, then go back and turn till at 45°, then straighten out, when when ur about 1m from the curb turn the other way into the lot

It's a common European specification vehicle thing for manufacturers and models to have just a single reverse light based on EU vehicle regulations and a sort of minimalist entropy, less on form but more on function as you would on the road most likely be seeing the reverse lights on one side, the left side of the vehicle reversing in into a parking space between vehicles from the right lane to the right hand side of the road, where as with most Global or Regional spec'd vehicles i.e North American spec vehicles have dual reverse lights as standard, unless their grey imports from another region like say old retro or modern JDM. There was a time for example where most US spec cars up until a certain year model had rear turn signals as the same light colour as brake lights, idk why but that was considered acceptable, now they are mandated by US Federal law and regulations, mandated to have all cars to be equipped with amber turn signals.
That is incorrect instruction. The correct instruction is to draw parallel with the front car with approx a two foot gap and half your length only, not the full length. This is then followed by full lock (or close to it with power steering). This general approach will work for most cars, irespective of being small or large. Obviously, as the driver becomes familiar with a particular car, it can get adjusted a little. If you had a small city hatchback and went full length, you'd make a mess of the parallel parking if you deployed turning the wheel straight away.
For me it’s all about the “gap” between the cars when parallel parking my 94 Supra or 09 Matrix. Matrix is smaller & taller than the Supra either car it’s all about the gap and half the length of the car in front of you.

My Dad taught me to drive. He said I was too blasé and needed to refine my skills. To ensure I understood the importance of spacial awareness, he picked me up from work in his semi, and we went home via an old dirt mountain road. There was barely enough room forn a large car let alone this monster ; id never really noticed there were no railings on the cliff side til that day 😂 When he started with parking; again, i was too sloppy. He tells me, 'Get it in that space. First forward park, then pull out and reverse park'. It was probably the largest parking space in the lot, with a curb to one side... easy peasy says I.....😊then Dad got out😮 , with the instruction, wait a minute then go! A moment later he was stretched flat out lying down on the edge of the parking space. When it came time to learn parallel parking, he did something similar, with my siister at one end, and my DOG at the other. Each time id mastered it, my sister moved giving me less space. A few days before my test he told me to parallel park on the street outside our house, pull in behind your sisters car he said...I did. Move a little closer he said. I did. Then he got in his car and pulled up inches away from my bumper. Ok, now get it out...and he went into the house to watch.. I DID😊 I swear i lost a few pounds in sweat that day! But by god, 50 years on and I can still park better than anyone I know.
Great - if the road is wide; Be careful if it is a narrow street -and there are cars parked on the opposite side of the road, not to hit them with the front corner!
This instruction video is good as it shows the 3 phases of a reverse park. However, I do not recommend turning the steering wheel while the car is stationary as this puts unnecessary strain on the power steering components. Always have the car moving while turning the steering sharply.
Yep all really good apart from the huge amount of dry steering, go just past level with the other car, start backing up and start to turn the wheels when in line with the other car but while still moving!
Parallel parking was always tough for me. But... If you think THIS is hard, try parallel parking a 40-foot-long bus! Without a backup camera and only your mirrors to guide you.
