@@what_you_say-_- The Sun goes through cycles just like the Earth, so sometimes it's more active and other times less active. Right now it's extremely active, and ejects plasma sort of like a Volcano. The light emitted only takes 8 minutes to get to Earth, however, Electrons, Protons etc., take longer to get to Earth because they have mass and can't travel at the speed of light like a Photon can. All of these things affect life here on Earth, such as seeing the Aurora Borealis but also gravitational forces which lead to an increase in earthquakes, volcanos and weather in general.
