Chris thinks Marcelas' Howard's drive to the right is limited. It may be, but from the clip Chris deduces his opinion from, I'm not convinced we can tell much about Marcelas' drive right.

The question is: can you attack your defender equally well from triple threat--regardless of which foot is your pivot foot--or does establishing a pivot foot make you more likely to have a better drive one way than the other? What do you think?

With that, there’s prolly a correlation between skill level and the effectiveness of the drive left or right. Driving the opposite side of your pivot foot is a more explosive first step given you don’t have to swing your leg across your body which gives the defender time to react. At the same time, skilled players maximise the triple threat using jabs, which when used effectively, can open up the pivot foot side and make that drive easier while attacking the top foot.

I think the Lemon guy just said that Marcelas is weaker taking the ball to the rim by driving to his off hand which is true by the clip you are showing.
Marcelas is left leg dominant, since your second step is the most important in driving past someone.
On his drives to the left, he has a much tighter handle because he can dribble through contact. Marcelas picks up his dribble with any body contact going right. Your point about the right pivot is correct though in advantages.
On his drive right, he cross steps which isn't as explosive unless you load the right foot. I don't think his intention was to fully drive because if it was me, then I would have jabbed left to open Kenny's stance and use my left jab as my negative step going right. That way my left leg would be loaded for my second burst step.
On the drive right, Kenny already beat him to the spot so Marcelas took the jumper. Players usually shoot going to their off hand though because it's easier to square up and get the ball into the shot pocket faster.
I agree with your analysis on pivot feet and it being harder to guard lefties. 👍
