- Portable Handheld Digital TV with ATSC OTA Tuner. A throwback to the days of analog television- this portable hand held TV has a digital ATSC 1.0 tuner, letting receive local over the air TV broadcasts as well as FM radio. A must-have in case of a power outage, weather event, storm or other civil emergency. Also has media player functionality as well as a full-function remote control.

I wish more regular TVs had FM tuners
I have that portable TV since yesterday!
You took on the question of 12 volt operation head on. It's a trend that new portable small TV's have omitted the 12 volt cable. Is it sheer corporate stupidity or something more nefarious? I notice that ATSC 3.0 was left out of the picture. That is a good trend. I''ll just stick with 12 volt NTSC analog from times past.
That portable tv reminds me of the old Casios and radio shack ones

@@audiodaze It is very much appreciated!
Cool. Looks like in 2024 I can buy new portable handheld digital TV. I remember back in 2017 Techmoan did an unboxing and review with a portable digital TV DVB-T2 model and it was cool. The problem will be when ATSC 3.0 will be the new standard and that TV will not receive the new standard.
Back to handheld TVs unfortunatelly I couldn't find a handheld digital TV, I only found brand new 40 cm camping 1080p TV that requires 12 Volts power, good thing that my model has a 230 Volt power adapter included so I can use it as regular TV. But if you go to a place where there is no electricity or you may experience a power outage the 12 Volt TV is no use if you don't have a car or a car battery and this is why everyone should have handheld TVs, but there can be a scenarios when there is a problem with the broadcasting tower, internet may not work and satellite TV is the only solution.
I think that ATSC 1.0 will be around in some form for a long time.
I used an ATSC tuner stick to revive an old analog handheld TV:

But when atsc 3 becomes the only signal which will probably be atleast a decade from now this tv will still work with stuff from the sd card slot
@@sneevegastv7606 I use it as a media player to watch content off a USB thumb drive.
@@NorthcoasterHobby cool I use the micro sd so nothing is sticking out
Hey i have this i got it last year and i love it and when everything switches to atsc3 this tv wont be useless junk like my others will be because of the sd card slot
This TV is ATSC 1 only, but the media player function is cool.
I'm getting that tv this Monday
Nice.👍

I wonder if you could use as a second small monitor
Good idea- however this particular model doesn’t have an AV input. Other models might have that though.
I have an older analog handheld that has AV input. I connected it to an ATSC tuner stick.

@@NorthcoasterHobby You could probably use a few adapters and converters to make it so, but at that point it probably isn't convenient.
HDMI to RCA adapter, then the cheap modulator you reviewed would do the trick.
Can you please tell me how many watts the AC power adapter draws?
The only information on the adapter label is input 100-240 V AC, 0.5A, output 12V 1.5A. There is no information about wattage. However W=AxV, so if the voltage is 120 x 0.5 A, then 60 watts. I think that’s how it is calculated.
Is a portable converter box required for traveling with the tv to get over the air channels?
@@robertshade8631 No. this TV already has a digital ATSC tuner built-in. All you have to do is connect an antenna and run a channel scan.
@@NorthcoasterHobbythanks again as always.

@@NorthcoasterHobby yes thank about it you can record and watch TV on the go .I can also watch 3.0 in a moving vehicle.you can't do that with the other receivers.
My gt meta tv stick will be arriving tomorrow.
@@donbest5024 how to record on 1.0 hold finger on broadcast picture DVR will appear .
The links go to different brands. Maybe Changhong brand?
The brands sometimes change. The links may also suggest a different product depending on availability. I updated a couple of the links in the description. I hope that helps.
@@NorthcoasterHobby thank you!
@@joeprete7424 You’re welcome.
if only it was usb powered
It is 12V DC powered. You can use a 12 volt plug as I showed in the video to power it, or the included AC adapter. I’m not sure it being USB powered provides any real benefit.
