    What you showed at 2:20, saying the spectator can choose any card they like (second round), doesn't match the way you showed it in the solution. So, the question is how did you originally force the 9 of hearts?

    Just for the record it was originally called the Chicago Opener or Red Hot Momma by Al Leech a Chicago cardman sometime in the 1950's. Pop Haydn in 1982 in his routine changed the name to Chicago Surprise to better distinguish a few of his subtleties he added to the trick.

      Yup, I learned this trick from Michael Ammar too, Red Hot Momma like you described. Would love to learn more about the different subtleties with other variations. It's been a while since I've performed this trick. I dont' recall the nice sublety in first phase with asking the spectator to say stop as we're cutting packets of cards before putting the other packet on top, place the red card on top.

    • @oscar

    Are there any simple things I can practice to get better at controlling cards and learning to do the lifts etc?
    Any tips would be most helpful.
    Any books worth buying that show some beginner friendly tricks?
    Thanks

      Don't count on Owen ''the little parasite'' to teach you that. He just exposes secrets. I suggest that you buy ''The Royal Road to Card Magic'' by Hugard and Braue. It's an old book that is still published today. It is made for the beginner and teaches you in a clear way how to master card sleights and entertain with a deck of cards. When you will have mastered the content of the book, you will be a competent card magician, far better than the ''little parasite''. Best of luck.

    at 2:25, you say that the spectator has free choice to pull out any card that they like, then how come you've used hindu force in the tutorial? if the spectator pulls out any card randomly, then how would it work?

    • @oscar
      @oscar  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I would do the ‘classic force’ normally but it would take another 20 mins to explain it, so I switched it up to the Hindu force which is easier to explain and works well. But look up the classic force if you want to know how I managed to do it!

  • @barthvapour
    @barthvapour Před 10 měsíci

    You used the "classic" force in the demo, but that's not a 100% reliable force. What do you do if the spectator doesn't pick the card you are trying to force with that method?

    It's a classic trick and it's not the best in the world. :) But the poor final phase was chosen, which depreciated the WoW effect. The tutorial was also very confused.

    Main problem is when they asked you to perform the trick by choosing card by themselves🙂🙂

    2:29 you show the "reach in and pick a card" on this example
    On the explanation you showed the "Hindu force", but you could explain how you forced the card on the 1st example too
    Cause I think other people wouldn't be fooled by the "Hindu force". You're picking cards from the top, and showing them the bottom card anyway? Idk

    How did you force nine of ❤ 2nd time. You did't use hindu force. But your revealed ?

    • @oscar
      @oscar  Před 10 měsíci

      I used the classic force!
