My book Guitar Soloing Like a Pro follows a similar format for Shape 1 Minor Pentatonic and more

Memorizing the shapes is not enough to actually get good at soloing on the pentatonic scales on guitar. I use this method with all my guitar students to truly master the pentatonic shapes and it's just six steps: Memorize the roots, favourite bends, blue notes, arpeggios, chord tones, and common licks. If you do this on every pentatonic shape, you can truly master the scale. - Hudba

You may be the most innovative guitar teacher on CZcams. You take subjects we are all familiar with and give us a totally new approach on how to utilize it to our benefit, but in a very structured manner.
Thank you for the great feedback. Much appreciated!
dude
you are such a good teacher..you hit on things a lot of other CZcams don't dive into...would love this for all shapes
Thank you! I am gradually doing this for all the pentatonic shapes but on our Patreon group www.patreon.com/guitarlessonsvancouver I will do similar stuff here on CZcams in the future though too :)
No one adds context, relevance, and practical application to guitar knowledge like you. This is an outstanding lesson.Thank you.
Thank you that's great feedback for me to know 😀
Fantastic teacher. Great lesson, thanks!
Thanks again for coming back and watching the channel!
I teach music for free. I always say that we are and always will be students. I recommend that all of my students learn to identify their goles and how they will achieve them. From a multitude of councilors there is success! You are my first recommendation for any student. A++ for Clearly explaining tuff concepts in an unpretentious way. Thank you for caring so very much!
And thank you for the extra support!
I found you lessons about a month ago and instantly realized how great an instructor you were. Since then i have been watching them all. Sometime wish there was a guide on the order to follow the lessons to aide in my progression. If there is please let me know. Anyway, this particular lesson is one of the best lessons I have ever watched. Not only the quantity of content but its simplicity is awesome. Thanks. Also, bought your Solo book as well to support your efforts. Thanks and keep ‘em coming
Awesome thank you! Book 2 is coming out very soon. I'm hoping to put lessons in an order on Patreon over the next couple months. CZcams unfortunately isn't well designed for doing things in an order.
i am watching this over again - a great one, thanks
Cool Thanks again! Lots in that one. I'm doing the same six step process for each shape on the Patreon group.
Geez, Blue! 6 powerful tools in 10 minutes?! Has Guinness Book gotten in touch with you yet? 😊 This is a week's worth of lessons for me! Thanks man 👍
Hahaha, thank you! That gave us a good laugh. Glad you enjoyed the lesson. More coming!
Thanks for this Blue!
Really loved the focus on a Shape 4 (funny B string shape as I also now call it).
I do tend to find myself hanging around shape 1 (easy shape) too much, so this is great to experiment elsewhere on the neck.
Thanks for all your content Blue. It's really appreciated
Thank you again! Happy see you keep coming back to watch more videos. I admit easy shape 1 is still my favourite and that will never change. But shape 4 is soooo good too. More coming on shape 4 next week :)
Always a worthwhile😀 lesson
Thank you very much!
So informative so well explained thank you!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching 😎
I'm a fairly seasoned guitarist and THAT was a great lesson 👍
I've been playing a LONG time and i still got something from this!
I hope all the newer players are paying attention to what you're giving them for FREE.
Guys like me never had teachers like you....we learned the HARD way...
Thank you for the wonderful review. Much appreciated 😀
Hey Blue, one of the most important concepts on guitar playing is to realize how everything is connected, I like how your lesson run that way to glue everything together, thanks a lot. Rafa from Spain here, I changed my avatar ;-)
Hi Rafa, thanks! I agree, it's connecting things that can really take our playing to the next level. Thanks again!
Ur the best brother Blue!!
Thank you! Lots more coming in April 👍😎
Great lesson. Very practical. Just subscribed! 👍
Great thanks! Welcome to the channel
I browse through the courses on CZcams from time to time. I have come across very good lessons, but this is what you did, Blue... Big thanks and lots of love to you. 🎸
Thank you! That's great to hear!
Another fab gear lesson!
Thank you again for watching!
Excellent! Thanks.
Thank you again for watching and commenting!
Great lesson. Excellent tips for making the pentatonic shapes really useful in playing vs just another place on the fretboard to wander around. 👍🏼😎👍🏼
Thank you! Indeed, no wandering, good way of putting it, thank you!
great lesson - I also love using the flat 9 just before resolving to the root
Flat nine before resolving to the root... I think SRV used the flat nine in a little hammer-pull trill sometimes. I don't tend to do that but maybe I should be :)
Another good one!
Thanks again!
Great lesson again and super good to know. Thanks Blue.👍
Thanks for watching!
Great stuff
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Blue, you did it again! Great lesson! I’ll try to perform better pentatonic from now, thanks!!
Thank you José! Aways great to see you coming back to watch more videos. If there's anything in particular you'd like to see in a future video let me know :)
@@GuitarLessonsVancouver dale!!! Gracias!!
Nice one again Blue 👍
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
0:51 ooo! this is interesting .. i never thought some would be more Popular than others ....
now i 'd like to know the Popularity and is that the same as the most useful, cause thats not always the same
Hmm good question. I think they are all equally useful because they all have the same notes, the shape is just different because it's in a different place on the fretboard. But some shapes, like this one, are easier to play and have the sweet notes under the third finger, which is easier for bends and classic licks. Maybe that's why they are more popular
Just what I needed. Thanks Blue. What gauge strings do you use?
Thank you! I tend to use 10-46. Usually Daddario EXL 110.
Great lesson Blue, thank you! But why no mention that this shape is the exact same shape as the “easy shape” just moved down one string? And when is Book 2 coming out???😬
You sure?
That's a good point. I do sometimes say that in lessons here. They are essentially the same shape starting on the next string. Book 2 is coming very soon. I have one more exercise to write for it, then record the samples. Almost there!
@colindayo It is pretty much the same shape but when you start on the A string instead of the E string, the tuning of the guitar is what gives it a different shape, especially at the B string, where I call it the "funny B" string shape.
@@GuitarLessonsVancouver thank you and I can’t wait!!!
Do the same for each of the other scales,… one video each !
I will be doing that but most of them will be on the Patreon www.patreon.com/guitarlessonsvancouver I will do the 6 steps in each pentatonic shape 😎
Like it
Thank you!
Can you do this for every shape? And in major??!
I will be doing that but most of them will be on the Patreon www.patreon.com/guitarlessonsvancouver I will do the 6 steps in each pentatonic shape, major and minor 😎
Can I ask you what type of Gibson that is it's the shape of the ephiphone 100 les Paul which I have just wondering what they would cost? Thanks
Thanks it's a Les Paul Tribute model.
@@GuitarLessonsVancouver Thank you very much
