This wa the song John wrote for his father because he had a hard relationship with his dad. You can hear John's suffering while he's singing. Everytime I hear this song,I just want to cry. I used this song for a project at school and the whole class were crying,even my teacher. Also,this reminds me of the failed relationship between Light and his father from the Death Note Drama series because it was like this.
I identify completly with this song. I had a horrible relationship with my father. This song actually helped me forgive him.

I was at a Skillet concert and they wanted to sing this song, and John couldn't remmeber the lyrics, so he asked the crowd to sing it, and he did his best to lipsync to us, and when he failed he just shouted "I AM A PEANUT" . It was soooo cool

I don't think they're religious in a moralistic, judgmental or dogmatic way. They're intensely spiritual, which is very uplifting, all about hope & forgiveness & finding strength in some force greater than ourselves.

My Father was never abusive but I was more of a pet coming and seeing me here and there and getting me stuff. As he has gotten older he has changed so much and we grew closer. He is currently homeless and I'm not able to do much to help and it really breaks me, but this song reminds me so much of how much I wanted to cry to my Daddy and just tell him how I felt.
This song really touches me,for some reason it just makes me feel very happy.I suffer from anxiety problems,I just get so nervous and afraid over so many things and I can barely make friends because I'm so nervous when trying to meet them.....this song makes me feel better when I'm very upset about these problems.

Not to make things awkward or anything,but personally I dont believe in god,I dont think there is enough proof to say he exists with out having to have faith,BUT I am not saying he does not exist,im saying I dont know and I am comfortable with that.When I use to be a christian I prayed a lot,and it was for reasonable things but I never got that answer,or that special feeling people say they get(but thats not the reason I turned away from it).Im either A.Going to seek therapy again,or B.Get medication(but I will get off medication if it numbs me to much or affects me negatively to much in some other part of life)
Sometimes you have to look or seek for a asnswer. Have faith and believe that your not alone and there s more around you then you know and I'm not trying to sound judge mental or tell you your wrong but there is proof that there is good and evil you just havnt seen it or you havnt experience any type of spiritual battle cause not every body does. You might not believe me but one night I was listening to music and singing whorship music and this bat flu from out of no direction and there was no way he was able to come in the house but I scared him out. Another time I prayed really hard and I was speaking my mind of how felt and that I was in misery and this bird flew up at the window of my door and tweeted at me like an Angel and it wasn't a normal tweet either. And my point I'm trying to make is that theres demons and angels amongst us so trust and believe were not alone and you have a soul

This song is so special and heartwarming to me. Everytime I listen to this, it always of the people who are and were important and special to me. Skillet is such a amazing band, for real. You gotta at least respect them whether you're christian or not.

TheChekan You can always try again. God Forgives us even when we should not be forgiven,but he died for you just because of your mistakes. He loves you. Even if the world seems to be falling apart he will save us all. Your not alone . I am a very upset and depressed young man myself. But I have High Functioning Depression which means I Hide my feelings and I still get stuff done so no one assumes I'm depressed.

God heals, but it takes time. Reading psalms really can help. Some wounds are very deep they seem impossible to heal, but you'll be surprised when you wake up and its gone and you have closure. Closure is the path to healing. Look for closure. Write out all your questions and then seek answers. You'll find having answers creates more questions, but then you feel stronger each time you ask and answer.
