EVENTUALLY - they will do something like allowing the owner to "drive" the cleaner through a complete room - then store that pattern in memory somewhere on the machine! You MUST start at the same spot when you clean a floor! (and sell the machines according to the memory on them!) And allow you to store - say - 15 rooms and to name them (Kitchen, Dads trophy room, Mainbathroom, moms sewing room, Billy's bedroom....etc)!!!! Then you put it in the room - select which room to clean - turn it on and shut the door!!!!! It will beep loudly when it is complete!!! This may seem sophisticated - but it is not - it is fairly easy and fairly cheap to do!!!!!!!
I have the 6 and 7 hundred series Roomba sweepers and love my little guys. The advantage over the 600 is the scheduling of days and times to clean. I wanted to get something for the kitchen and tile floors that would wash and this demo you provided really helped in making a decision. Unlike the programmable sweepers, the only disadvantage i see here is that you have to attend to the scuba machine more. There is more human interaction but with water, i guess no way around that. Well Done. Thanks
Pretty neat but I think the logic of the scooba is mostly random with a chance it will hit every spot. I think iRobot needs to work on the logic diagram.
Informative video thanks for uploading. Once you've used a smart robot like LG or the Neato (i realise they are vacuums not mop cleaners) that move systematically, it is incredibly frustrating watching the Roomba's random moves - hoping it will cover all areas by chance.
This thing and the other types are better then my non properly working cleaning braaava jet 200 sh*t, it just cleans in the worst way possible and then goes in a circle moving backwards
The 230 looks more like a dorm or bathroom model for its tiny size (your hand might be bigger than the top of it). Its a fun little helper but I wonder if it might do a bit better - It looks like its leaving big gaps in the middle - did it ever get to them? How well a job? Part of me wonders if they didn't build it watertight as a kind of marketing engineering - people like to have reassurances that their products work, and seeing a water trail can do that. Where's the music from? Itc sounds distinctly American, but I wonder if that's where it came from - I think I might've heard an Aussie play tunes like this on his guitar.
We don't use it that much any more. Probably because the virtual wall seems to go flat very fast. You have to clean it out every time and it's not on a schedule. Having said that, I should probably go put it on now. It does a good touch up job, but it's not going to get the stains up. It's more of a dust cleaner....
We kept it, but the bladder formed a hole, so it's not much good now unfortunately. I read online that happens & you can't replace the bladder. I probably wouldn't get one in hindsight.
yeah I found some junk in the squeegee today and washed it out. My battery lasts one full cycle and about 1/2 - 3/4 of a short cycle before stopping & wanting to recharge.
How much did thest cost in 2012 when you made the review? Did this product fail miserably? I don't see them for sale new anymore and the used ones on ebay are pretty cheap.
I can't remember now, but it was expensive! Maybe $400ish. Apparently there were lots of problems with the internal bladders leaking. That is what happened to ours. Now it's a paperweight
@@bladesvlogs4965 I tried a google search for 230 bladder repair and the only thing that really shows up is a forum post about someone using a blood transfusion part to try and replace the bladder. It looks complicated. :(
Nope, it only lasted maybe a year - can't remember. The internal bladder developed a hole that allowed water to travel from the clean side to the dirty side. iRobot did not offer the internal bladder as a replacement part, so it was basically useless from that point. Actually quite disappointed with it in the end.
I was almost going to get the larger 390, but figured this one would be ok, as our bathrooms are smaller.
Glad you enjoy the reviews :)

Give that they already have Northstar navigation built in to some of their other robots I doubt they will bother with this solution.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :)

Very nice video and interesting too! Keep up the good work!
Will keep that in mind!
I got one from Ebay, and even today it works just fine. It is 9 years old.
That would be VERY interesting!!

I agree. I'm still in two minds as to what my next one will be.
Entertainment for pets it is.
mine stopped driving straight and iRobot sent me a brand new unit within a week after a quick email to their customer support. Great warranty.

Yeah, just two cap fulls of vinegar in with hot water (not boiling). Works a treat :)
I can clean this floor in five minutes.
No encontramos los recambios de la scuuba 230
Wow, that's good. Unfortunately I'm in Australia, so I don't think I have local warranty.

looks like they don't sell them anymore
I agree, the Roomba's are very good. I probably only run the scooba once or twice a fortnight because of that reason.

its so cute =,)
I ordered a second battery. Only $25. Well worth it
Grin - maybe you should send all of those to iRobot - the company that manufactures the Scooba :)
Hi. Did you end up keeping it, is it worth the money? Cheers
We kept it, but the bladder formed a hole, so it's not much good now unfortunately. I read online that happens & you can't replace the bladder. I probably wouldn't get one in hindsight.
no charger station?
Very true, but I'm watching TV while it mops the floor for almost 45 mins. Very through.

Is very small
I am waiting for Neato robotics to come out with a mop!
follow the yellow brick road! ( the spiral in the tile)
Yeah I still have mixed feelings with the scooba, especially the small one I have.

you said in the video that you used the vinegar solution can you tell me what that is please
Isn’t it ovius? (Smh) viniger
Should you vacuum first and then use this?
Yes I would recommend it. The Scooba doesn't do an real debris collection.
***** The newer Scooba models have built in vacuums.

Laugh - that's one way to go :-P
Laugh - yeah it's very small!!
So it cleans with wet stripes. My dog cal lick floors better if I spill some honey on it.
:P
How lazy you got to be to clean a 5 by 10 kitchen?
Can't understand anything you're saying
Laugh - it's the accent?
No, it's not having a mic.
