I've been fishing my entire life, the whole Eastern seaboard, and LawDog u can really fish your ass off bro. Keep up the great videos, refreshing to see a real angler doing work.
Awesome video Lawson! It must have been such a treat to get into those topwater reds! Fishing lakes, ponds, creeks, quarries, and quiet saltwater backwaters and lagoons that hardly get pressured is such a pleasure. Never know what to expect with the fish and there's plenty of peace and quiet other than nature, unless you were to be close to some highway.
I love how your videos are when the music was playing you slipped it cut and went back had me laughing bro! Also, thank you for not making the constipation sound every time you catch a fish like JM It drives me crazy!!!
I enjoy your videos thank you for sharing with us the community. I'm really curious about what your opinion might be on using that setup along the beaches outside of the surf zone
Always fun to watch someone work hard while I sit on the couch. Love the change up to the microskiff. Maybe you can’t get as far, but a pedal drive yak might be more comfortable.
Man! I sure miss fishing the mangroves in Sebastian (or anywhere for that matter)! I do really well on BIG Tiger Musky where I live, but every time things slow down my mind wanders back to Sebastian and the endless Mangroves swarming with Reds, Trout, Snook and Tarpon! So fun! -Nice Red, Lawson! I see you are sold on the D.O.A Airhead!
I hit the mangroves here in Melbourne Monday. Got a few small snook (kinda new at this). But I'll tell ya, you have to get UNDER the overhanging mangroves, and it's kind of a bitch. (In a boat) I snagged many mangroves, but when I could get it under, I got fish. It's a learning process, I'll grant you that..
Always figured those skiffs would be a pain in the (beep)! ... Then again, it ain't me using it --- so it all good! :) You know there has got to be some sizable snook, reds, and tarpon up in those hidden spots .... just gotta be. Nice stuff -- awesome!
Love your videos brother, try adding some Teflon skids to the bottom of the water craft, that will greatly increase the ease of sliding it and find its center point of balance and move the wheels to that point, I have done this for a few of my friends and it makes life soo much easier👍👍 fish on
I've seen a guy car-top the Bote and put the motor on a hitch-style bike rack. Makes maneuvering the setup a little easier. Just have to reinstall your motor every time. You can get a micro trailer with a foldable or removable tongue. You can put the trailer on it's end in your garage, won't take up too much space or just park it with the tongue collapsed.
hahahaha bro you on my side of the indian river lol love the spot you were fishing i have fished there many times caught a lot of big snook and reds and at times of the year big gator trout
Great Vid, Lawson,Def. worth the effort you need to either find something to make it easier to launch or get a trailer /or Gheenoe, which would Probably be best especially when you take others with you ,Thanks for sharing
Lol it cracks me up when he uses phrases out of context. Always leaves me scratching my head saying I don’t think that’s the way those words are supposed to be used haha. Thanks for the laughs bro. Keep up the good work.
Trade it on a Gheenoe or something easier to load/unload. I think it's the back/skinny water adventures the viewers like, not necessarily the water craft. Sweet fishing trip though, would love to stick some nice, secluded reds.
Man I need to come with you! Just bought a Bote Rackham and the last two times I’ve been out I’ve gotten skunked! I’m new to the area too so I’m struggling!
Boy have I been there!!! "Once you go electric start, you'll never go back!" P.S. buy a GOOD battery And Maintain it (solar charger)! Cuz when it goes dead, and pull start is Not an option, you're screwed! Been there too... it's all part of the fun isn't it. :-)
@@chronicawareness9986 yeah, I still have my old 1984 Johnson 10HP Seahorse. Used it for YEARS (like 15) but I'm Never going back to pull start brother. Just saying. Lol.
I think a technical poling skiff would've been an all around better option and would be able to get just about the same places with no hassle. Considered getting one since my flats boat is similar to yours
If it is a 2 stroke disconnect and let run dry before taking out. Next time re-connect and pump till bulb tightens. Should start within 3 pulls. If it sits for a while, you can spray a little carb cleaner. Disregard if 4 stroke.
Got to say. I know the spot. And which ramp you used. Because I'm a local here I wont say where so it doesnt get flooded anymore then it is. Plus many aren't getting back in that small space But awesome videos as always. Every up here again would love to have you on the boat for some inshore fishing.
From your normal location should only be a 1 hour drive. Tip for you - from the ramp head due west, those little canals are loaded with baby snook and tarpon. Also the island you pass on the way out has trout and reds on the south side. Docks further north near the power lines normally hold snook. Monster jacks where all the sea walls are north of the ramp, you’ll find it. I’ve fished this area for years, maybe even longer then your normal spots. So crazy we fish the same areas with the same techniques. Sadly this area isn’t anywhere near as good as it was 10-15 years ago.
Cool video idea install a winch in the bed of the pilot make some wooden ramps that flip out of the tailgate with bunks so you can load the micro sciff easier
I've got one too and the wheel system they send with it is absolutely the worst thing about it. No easy way to use it by yourself. I'm working on fabricating a dolly that I can just slip under the rover when I lift the back end of the board. Let me know if that's something you might wanna check out some time.
Very cool seeing the skiff vids! But that’s allota $ for what it is! Like most subscribers, I’m a big fan watching the micro skiff vids! If you decide to keep it, I see a trailer in your future! Lol
Lawson, with those calves of yours I don’t know why you don’t get a pedal drive kayak. A Hobie Pro Angler would be amazing for reaching these spots, and there’s no need for a ramp, or a trailer. And it’s SO MUCH easier and stealthier than the heavy ass Rover with that big, loud, annoying engine. Your legs never run out of gas.
I would fog an engine thats been sitting for awhile to avoid damaging the internals. Still not sure why a new engine would be so hard to pull start. Most are designed to start within one rotation of the flywheel.

They're alot easier to handle if you don't have the motor on it. Get it in the water, drop the motor on the bracket, clamp it, connect gas, and go.

You can still pull the boat off of a trailer for janky launch locations and use a ramp the other times. That’s what i do.

Damn i moss south fl, and mangroves.. im near cedar key now and its not as nice..
What is the average water depth for these mangrove lagoons?
Been saying it for 20 years, skiffs, and flat boats, ( now ) micro skiffs, way to great fishing, hidden areas on the inter coastal.
