Yeah, I purchased one too after seeing videos. I only planned to use it for my practice kit and thats where it will stay. I would never trust the Griffin for road gigs.
This is why I'm not going with the cheapest item anymore. Like you said, buy a cheap China tire for a mono bike (one tire bikes) and jump of curves.
Wow! JD, I'm a bass player here in OKC. I'm pretty tight with several Drummers. When I'm playing on stage, I really "lock on" to what they are doing. I think the extra noise frim this would be so distracting for the both of us while performing. Thanks for thus video. I will be sharing this with them.
Your right! I have a griffin double bass pedal I bought 3-4 years ago for $100 and it has all the features of the higher end pedals you are talking about. Even the machining of the foot plate logo is different. It still has a little more wobble in the hinge than you would like, but not as bad as the pedal you purchased. You should still carry a spare spring in your gig bag. Disappointing because i was thinking about trying their remote hi hat stand. Good review

I just bought the Griffin double bass pedal recently and it still has all the features shown on the site(s) and their reviews via YT. I'm just getting back into drumming after talking several years off. If I stick to it, I'll upgrade back to the pro equipment I used to play. For now it's a GREAT value! I'm happy...and I'm very jaded and have OCD if that helps paint the picture haha! Sorry their single pedal is not what it used to be.
I wonder how many bassists are watching this? Kind of strange we watch drum videos I guess. Alas, part of my job is to keep my drummer (also my best friend) knowledgeable about all things drumming. It’s also a lot of fun. Thanks JD.
Just got mine and went to adjust the beater angle. The key to adjust it is tight and is stripped and Useless. I'm disappointed man as I have waited 16 years to play again finally got a kit and just need a decent working pedal without spending 100 bucks ..lol. I mean come on. Thinking of Yamaha 7210 or the likes or iron cobra 200. I need my single kick to kick doubles rapidly or quick 32nds. Like a rough. The pedal that came with my used kit was dead too. Sad I've waited since Xmas to get one to use the kit. Lol emailed griffin to see what next.

Send it back and get your money back. No sense wasting your money on an inferior product. The manufacturer obviously tried to maximize their profits by reducing quality. Not worth keeping. Return it.
