So you wanted the 123 to be backwards the second time? 😂 JK, one of those do as I say not as I do moments..
Thanks for the video. Funny that you get knuckleheads correcting you on concrete vs mortar
MY Wife says I can't watch your videos anymore...
Lol
I won't tell her if you don't
Maybe time for a new wife??
My wife keeps showing me them. Hahha
Thank you for including the first try even though it didn't turn out 100%. It's more realistic :) and I liked seeing the second try also.
We learn a lot more from failure than we do success as a rule. Showing us what wrong looks like is almost more valuable than showing us what's right
Agree!
I love that you gave your shed an address plaque! That's pretty cool looking. 2 more weeks till I get to my mom's fixer upper where I get to do all the projects that we can budget😅
Always a great day when a Michael Builds video shows up!
👍🏼😎💪🏼
Love them. Going to make one except i will make sure the numbers are not backwards.
I did my name like this but I have a cnc router table and I did like a reverse of my name out of pblue styrofoam them poured it with Concrete. It turned out great. Its about 1.5 x 3 feet.
My wife tells me to move out into the shed too! Forwarding your mail there is a good idea.
Nice… gonna try this! Handy tip…. Once you’ve mixed your concrete or mortar, don’t rest the mixer on the tarp, put it straight in the bucket of water, and give it a quick whizz to clean it. Otherwise you’ll be chipping it off with a hammer 😊
That's it! I need flow-control for the way I should lighten-up on stress.
Thanks a lot for adding something else to my to do list….😂
It would be so easy to leave a space for led lights. Nice work!
The day has just improved!
Great video Michael! I'm thinking about adding a little paint and then epoxy for the finish!
Love your builds! Thank you sir for the DYI knowledge.
i loved this handy little video! Thank you😀❤
Very cool and something that is attainable to DIY!!
Any suggestions on how you would totally get rid of the air bubbles? More water or flow control and lots of vibrating?
You wouldn't be able to totally get rid of them. But more flow control (it tells you the max you can use on the packet) and more vibrating. I use a cheap massage gun from Amazon for that.
I was kinda hopin' to see a Metallica Address Plaque
🎸🎸🎸🎸
Can’t wait to try it
@6:20 Biggest PRO TIP Ever
@6:50 Have made that face on many projects, many times
I love these videos. I’d love to see you make a vibrating table and make some stuff like this on it. Those concrete vibration motors are pretty cheap on Amazon.
A bedroom power tool works just as well and way cheaper😂
I been wanting to do a castke tower or monument thing for the mailbox. This would be a good addition to the idea.
Ues a reciprocating saw on edges to vibrate bubbles out!!
Or a sander or a jig saw
The algorithm says I'm going to love them!😅
Mike try your oscillating tool on the side panel. It will shake the material in place.
Those are pretty!
Ah I see that 123. Still looks great
Love the videos, I watched all of you counter top videos and decided to build my,I made my a little different than yours with a integrated backslash and lip on the bottom
A massage pistol would probably do well removing those bubbles.
That's what I use! Just got a cheap $10 one on Prime Day for that purpose.
Be a nice patio stone also.
Heeeyyyyy Michael! ❤😊
Keep going dude always injoy your videos
Alternatives to consider for both the mold and mix for a project this small -
Mold alternative: white foam board and hot glue.
Mix alternative: for the size of project consider plaster of Paris or rockite
Simple smear of some mortar will fill the holes and imperfections
project idea: shaker table for getting bubbles out of molds
Awesome
This is one of your best.
Can you try one where you use a pressure washer to expose the sand on the numbers? Kinda like you did with the compass slab
Nice build.
How did he hang it? Made a hole in back?
13:42......
@noble5225 More like @ 8:25 where he shows how to make the hangers
Very cool. As always... :)
this project would be neat with the paint color addition too
try a commercial release agent from smooth on or such. More money much less bubbles on the face!
Hi dude. 1st let me say that your videos are of good quality and I love it. Im in curb addressing and also start to make my own cement curbs for hous addresses but like this way you made it with a tipe cement stand were it wil be resting on for it will stand outside the yard. We're is SA and finding a house with a address we'll you don't.
I would love to see how would you mold a frame like in your video on a cement stand for outside the yard if you're up for it 😂
Michael you're the man
Thank you
This in a colored mic would be awesome!!!
Your motto should be , if it's not done twice it's not done right.
now do the exposed aggregate on one!
Great video and something I want to try!
The video would have been even better without the awful background muzak. Please consider removing it in the future, or at least turning down the volume.

I love how failure is an option. Now since i watch Adam Savage too, i would take the first two and weather paint them and stick with the beat up look and F what the neighbors think all Mormons anyway and family.
with the issue with the bubbles and the void space on the first one, would it be better to tap the mold after putting maybe half of the mortar mix? then filling it with the rest? I know the first set you didnt ues enough flow control or enough water like in the second set. just curious is tapping before molds are full would help with any type of project.
I need to ask you something, I live in South Carolina in an area where the sand mixture that was used to make concrete had impurities in it that is now causing the concrete to FLAKE APART. I can't afford to replace my walkway, I was wondering if you are familiar with this problem where I live and if you think a resurfacer will adhere and hold where the concrete has gone bad. Thanks for your help and suggestions in advance.
I'm making concrete window sills (36 inches wide, 4 inches in depth, and 4 inches tall tapering to 3 inches for the slope) to replace brick rowlock sills. I made the mold out of plywood and made some test pieces with rapidset mortar mix to refine the design. Would rapidset mortar mix be a good choice for the final product? Do you have additional suggestions like reinforcement like in the video? Can they be sealed with some sort of concrete paint to change the color and help with water management? Thank you.
Couldn’t you use a wooden picture frame for the inside of the mold?
well not a concrete question but what are the pieces of wood on your miter saw for
When will you have the dimensions
Very soon I promise. I’ll be working on those dimensions tomorrow
Haha anyone else notice the reversed 123 on the second poor.
Why morter mix and not the cement all?
I am attempting to make a pour in place pea-gravel seat cap along the top of a concrete block raised bed garden. Suggestions are appreciated for ratios and crete product to use.
❤❣️❤
Micheal you stole my idea. 6 months ago I made sign post with my son name and address. It was T shape with the name on the top and the address going up and down. I made it in 2 parts and added some brown pigment to look like wood.
321=123. 😂❤it.
"Mortar mix is not concrete and concrete is not mortar mix" ...yeah i keep hearing this but what's the difference?
Cement is the glue aspect of both products.
The composition of mortar contains finer aggregate, such as sand and lime.
Concrete contains gravel.
The amount of added water is different between the two with concrete using less.

Haxman did a cool idea I think you could do a little better with your skills with mortar
