    So you wanted the 123 to be backwards the second time? 😂 JK, one of those do as I say not as I do moments..

      We learn a lot more from failure than we do success as a rule. Showing us what wrong looks like is almost more valuable than showing us what's right

    Nice… gonna try this! Handy tip…. Once you’ve mixed your concrete or mortar, don’t rest the mixer on the tarp, put it straight in the bucket of water, and give it a quick whizz to clean it. Otherwise you’ll be chipping it off with a hammer 😊

    Very cool and something that is attainable to DIY!!
    Any suggestions on how you would totally get rid of the air bubbles? More water or flow control and lots of vibrating?

    • @fortpatches
      @fortpatches Před 10 dny

      You wouldn't be able to totally get rid of them. But more flow control (it tells you the max you can use on the packet) and more vibrating. I use a cheap massage gun from Amazon for that.

    Alternatives to consider for both the mold and mix for a project this small -
    Mold alternative: white foam board and hot glue.
    Mix alternative: for the size of project consider plaster of Paris or rockite

    Hi dude. 1st let me say that your videos are of good quality and I love it. Im in curb addressing and also start to make my own cement curbs for hous addresses but like this way you made it with a tipe cement stand were it wil be resting on for it will stand outside the yard. We're is SA and finding a house with a address we'll you don't.
    I would love to see how would you mold a frame like in your video on a cement stand for outside the yard if you're up for it 😂

    with the issue with the bubbles and the void space on the first one, would it be better to tap the mold after putting maybe half of the mortar mix? then filling it with the rest? I know the first set you didnt ues enough flow control or enough water like in the second set. just curious is tapping before molds are full would help with any type of project.

    I need to ask you something, I live in South Carolina in an area where the sand mixture that was used to make concrete had impurities in it that is now causing the concrete to FLAKE APART. I can't afford to replace my walkway, I was wondering if you are familiar with this problem where I live and if you think a resurfacer will adhere and hold where the concrete has gone bad. Thanks for your help and suggestions in advance.

    I'm making concrete window sills (36 inches wide, 4 inches in depth, and 4 inches tall tapering to 3 inches for the slope) to replace brick rowlock sills. I made the mold out of plywood and made some test pieces with rapidset mortar mix to refine the design. Would rapidset mortar mix be a good choice for the final product? Do you have additional suggestions like reinforcement like in the video? Can they be sealed with some sort of concrete paint to change the color and help with water management? Thank you.

    • @junit483
      @junit483 Před 18 dny +2

      Cement is the glue aspect of both products.
      The composition of mortar contains finer aggregate, such as sand and lime.
      Concrete contains gravel.
      The amount of added water is different between the two with concrete using less.
