Absolutely the same for me. 2020 was about waking up. Placing the phone next to my espresso machine and watch Robbie while making my coffee for the morning. A bright spot in my memory
I am notorious for forgetting, well, everything! To help me through that, I've developed a technique of having dedicated pockets for stuff. One for phone, one for papers, and so on. Makes it very easy to check if something's missing with a simple self-pat-down (sounds worse than it is!).

There was a study on that forgetting phenomena awhile back.Ironically, it's thought that it's your brain trying to remember things by compartmentalizing, using the door or light switch as the demarcation. Like memory blocks from Assassin's Creed.

Hey Robby just found the Adventure Archive channel recently and have been watching the Japan videos there. Started from the latest kumano kado episode (I guess YT recommended that since I am currently living close to one segment of that long trail) and then followed up with the videos from the previous trip. I have seen jp vlogs from so many creators but have not related to them as much as I could relate to your style of presenting. The subtle things you show, such as the cawing of crows or an empty railway platform, things that some may feel mundane, yet I am able to appreciate it. Thats probably because I've been in jp for 2+ years now and have felt these emotions myself. there is something special about japanese nature and even city neighborhoods but hard to describe in words. Really glad that I found your videos.

Congratulations Robby! I’m emotional just thinking about all the vlogs, I’ve grown up with cha. I Went from 18 discovering this new profound love I had for nature and just didn’t knew that liking trees was normal lol moved from the city of LA to Delaware and explored most of the national parks. I also too got Married 23, and now living in a new apartment with him. Sharing this experience and life so far with him has been great.

The thing about buying knowing you can return and deciding to tighten that up reminds me of a few years ago when I realized I needed to be more deliberate in my purchasing. And it's worked out well in that I feel more like I have taken responsibility for what I have and the process by which I acquired it. I was never really an over spender or someone who bought frivolous things it was more that I bought extra like buying a second backpack because I know I'd run through the first one for sure and I like it so bought an extra or two to have on hand or buying extra at the grocery store just in case or whatnot. At first, I had to really stop myself as I caught myself doing these things and remind myself to be deliberate in my selections but it didn't really take that long before I had noticed my mental processing of purchasing had shifted into a slower more deliberate one. Now I clearly know what I have, where it is, take the time to take care of it, and value it in a different way. I very rarely have to return anything and if I do it's for a very clear and valid reason. I've cut down on waste. And, of course, it helps with that whole cluttered space, cluttered mind thing too.
Wow you started AA when you were 30? I'm turning 30 next year and I feel my life is starting to plateau (actually I think I haven't achieved anything in the past 3 years). Your story is inspiring.
