    This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen on CZcams for pool hydraulics. Pool service pro for past 15 years and I wish I could have learned this stuff in depth like this video shows when I first started. Well done Justin 👏🏻

    I have a spa connected to my pool with 6 jets but when I turn the spa on only 3 jets are working. When I turn on the blower all 6 jets are blowing air. To me, seems like I have a clog that doesn't allow the water to the other 3 jets. If that's the case how can I unclog to allow all 6 jets to work? (BTW I put my hand over the non-working jets and it seems like its sucking air in) I appreciate any feedback. This video taught me how everything is set up. Thank you!

    My in ground fiberglas spa is a 150' away with a 2" line from my 2hp pump, filter, and heater. A bit more than 5". If you lived in Arizona I'd hire you to come and assess my system. I have 2 hi-flo returns in the footwell of my spa, are they connected to the skimmer? Looks like you live in Glendale Az. Thanks for sharing exactly what I had been searching for...

    • @PoolPlumbingTips
      @PoolPlumbingTips Před rokem

      by "hi-flo returns" do you mean the spa jets or the spa main drains? Either way, no, they shouldnt be connected to the pool-skimmer. They are 2 separate lines. :)

    • @michaelleas1243
      @michaelleas1243 Před rokem +1

      @@PoolPlumbingTips Thanks for the reply. I have replaced the "suction line in my in ground acrylic spa. As best as I can tell the skimmer is connected to the 2 suction ports in the bottom of my spa, confirmed using a 39" line camera. I'm in the process of re-foaming the 5' section I replaced. Once that is completed, I will be reinstalling the acrylic sections I cut out to gain access to said suction line. Ended up doing this myself due to the fact that no one in the repair business wanted to attempt this job. Chicken Chits...

    • @michaelleas1243

      Thanks Justin. I was a plumber for the City of Glendale for 15 years, I'd run across many plumbing problems in that amount of time. I've been retired for 9 years and was a little intimidated by the scope of the repair. The 2" flex line was a cause for concern as it was tough to get a square cut on a curved line. Just took my time. The first time I did the repair in place with the wrong glue. Tested leaked. Removed and bench built the section I needed, much easier when it's sitting right in front of me, plus the correct glue set much faster, Red Hot Blue Glue. Your video was exactly what I needed to see, though there were some differences between what you demoed and my set up, but it was the only one to explain the basic design on the net. Thank-you...

      @@michaelleas1243 can you advise me why water coming through my air valve ?

    • @michaelleas1243
      @michaelleas1243 Před rokem

      @@earlcharles7463 Air valve on your filter, or an air valve on your spa? The air release valve on my filter is used to release air from the system during start-up an amount of water will jet out of the valve after the air has purged itself. At that point I shut the valve to stop water flow, a bad o-ring will allow water to escape during start-up, and allow air to get sucked in during the running of the pump even when closed. Air suction valve on a spa blowing water might be a water level that is too high. I'm also learning about the why's and way's of a spa. The company that built my spa has been out of business for I'm assuming 15 years, and the former owner of my home never passed along any info or booklets on a spa he had installed and that I have now owned for 8 years...

    Need your expertise please. We are in the process of building a stand alone built in spa. Approximately 9x7. Pool builder is telling me I need 2 pumps because I want 2 levels for the jets, initially he said because I had too many / 11, I said reduce to 8: apparently now because of the 2 levels. Does that sound right? 4th time building pool/spa -we had 2because of the combo, doesn’t sound right and I think they are trying to gouge me
