Purple sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus) is a small bird in the sunbird family.
Like other sunbirds they feed mainly on nectar, although they will also take insects, especially when feeding young.
They have a fast and direct flight and can take nectar by hovering like a hummingbird but often perch at the base of flowers.
This short movie is about a sunbird, facing unexpected climate change and its after effects.

Really super to watch this film.This bird built a nest in my home and laid egg I enjoyed it's sounds, wonder to see of both male and female birds feeding. It calls me in a alarming and wonderful sound whenever it see a cat in my veranda that much it attached to me .one day I noticed that kutty bird died I couldn't tolerate this fact felt extremely sad and I don't know the reason why it happened now I get the answer and felt shocked.Climate change ruined birds life and we are also responsible for that

I has sunbirds build nest at my balcony twice now.
First time was March-April as soon as baby flew out ..they all gone.
Secound time is now June (same year) have one chick now parrent feeding ..i fally in love this birds when i took photo of them and got some nice shot..the female so beautiful and the male so chaming.
I wish they love my balcony and come back more and more ..i enjoy watching them❤
Nice video. First time i observed this bird in Raichur, karnataka. It kept it's nest to our house backside. Once i tried to catch it's nest at night soon it fled away. After 1 week again it kept it's nest in front of my house. This time i never tried to catch it. Used to listen it's sweet voice almost for 2 years. Nice Bird 🌷🌷🌷🌷
I have the same birds nest in my house but their nest fell down due to rainfall it had 2 chicks i kept them for 5 days one flew away early and one is with me it is in a corrugated box and the birds come and feed the chicks. Will try my best to save the chick.

Thanks a lot. Ambient noise is high in urban environment( while recording ), instead of adding soundscapes which might not be relevant to the film I preferred music... Mostly these films are city based...thanks for your feedback...🙏🏽🙏🏽
