At first when I was younger, I never knew Fireman Sam looked like that from 1987 - 1994! All I saw was Season 5 which came out in 2003, the same year Thomas and Friends got a seventh season. But of course, Season 5 is my personal favourite season and I have all the DVDs of Season 5.
Norman’s Tricky Day was my favourite episode when I was little. My mum had to rewind the the part where Norman was skateboarding when he fell off and his head got caught in between the railings. I loved rewatching that part over and over again. It’s still hilarious to watch today. 😂
I personally like Series 10 onwards the five movies because I love the new look of the fire station and the new characters that they introduced and ICHYO.
Another one of the running jokes I liked about the original series was the fact that because Elvis was the station cook as well as a fireman he took advantage of it by making very strange food concoctions
It is cool that in the original series John Alderton did all the voices because he's able to give them their own individual voices and let's be honest he does some very good female voices as well
I love how the intro showing Sam's house showcases Sam's inventive side such as the machine that gave him his morning cup of coffee and places his helmet on his head which is completely left out of the CGI series which is a real Shame because I liked seeing Sam's inventions in the original series
I cracked up laughing in Norman's tricky day when Norman leaves the fire station to get away and then Sam Elvis and station Officer Steele chase after him in Jupiter
Well I think it's interesting about the original series is that Norman's father was mentioned in one episode he briefly mentions him when he shows Sam an old trick telescope that gives you a black eye when you look into it implying that Dilys is a widow
I actually did find it quite funny when Dylis said that Trevor probably got food poisoning from eating too much at Bella's because it brings up the rivalry that she and Bella have with one another for Trevor's affections
Norman's tricky day was my favourite episode of season 1 just because of all the Tricks he plays I cracked up laughing when he swapped the windscreen wax with boot polish and how he put grease on the pole in the fire station I cracked up laughing when he got his comeuppance when he got his head stuck in the fence and he was then made to clean Jupiter after he was free
Another show which John Alderton was really good in was in the Mr Men Where him and his wife gave both the Mr Men and Little Miss characters their own distinct voice in fact you can hear afew of Alderton's Fireman Sam voices like Example his voice for Mr uppity is nearly identical to his voice for station Officer Steele and his voice for Mr worry sounded an awful lot like his voice for Elvis
If that TV show Dilas was watching in the episode Halloween was real I would not survive 5 minutes as those sorts of shows would usually make me bored out of my mind
You know what was ironic about the show Trumpton it was the fact that they had the fireman in the show not actually fight fires because the shows creator couldn't think of a way to animate fire with stop motion kind of ironic because Fireman Sam found a way how to animate fire whip stop motion in the original series they simply used orange and yellow tissue paper
I think I have a reason why Dusty the dog only appeared to in season 5 and never appeared in the CGI series I believe it might be because he had passed away offscreen between seasons 5 and 6
I like Norman better in the original series just because of how mischievious he was but now in the CGI series they gave him a complete personality switch and make him responsible for every fire and emergency in it and what I hate about the new series is the fact that Norman is always just let off with a warning without any punishment when in the original series whenever he did which was quite rare cause a fire or emergency he got what was coming to him as they would do something embarrassing to him or make him do chores to teach him some kind of lesson which is why I like the old series better
William Pulfer-melville Shall I tell you something m8? When I first watched the great fire of pontypandy TV movie many years ago, you know how there was this sub plot about the possibility of Fireman Sam transferring to the Newtown fire brigade? Well when I was watching it after the part where Norman and his friend who I have forgotten the name of accidentally start the fire after cooking sausages in the woods without anyone knowing, I originally predicted that by the end of the film, everyone would decide to permanently send Norman and his friend away from pontypandy and over to Newtown instead of Fireman Sam. Then Sam would be rewarded for his bravery and everyone would celebrate and then the credits would roll. But then there would be a post credits scene where Norman and his friend arrive in Newtown to permanently live in a dingy smelly flat in the town and not even having their mums around bear in mind. But no. They both stay in pontypandy and we never get to find out how they were punished for their actions.
William Pulfer-melville Right ok, maybe in that case, Norman should have been forced to permanently go and live with him. And then we find out that Derek’s house is not very nice and Norman just happens to be given the worst bedroom in the house.
Now this is one of the biggest plot holes with the series as a whole and it's in the CGI switchover they changed the location of Pontypandy having it's much closer to the sea and having it portrayed as a fishing village when in the original series it was a town located in the Welsh Mountains
@@trainlover16 I will say season 6 does have some positives like for example we finally see Sarah and James' parents Charlie and Bronwyn who we just assume in the original series are characters existing offscreen as they were never seen or mentioned in seasons 1 to 5
