Wonderful picks James! I adored Petite Maman! Chilly Scenes of Winter surprised me. Highly enjoyed it. I picked up Inland Empire and Targets, haven’t watched them yet. Thelma and Louise looked great in 4K, wonderful packaging! Imitation of Life and Triangle of Sadness are two of my favorites so far this year! I can’t wait for EO. It was a beautiful film!!

The highlight for me so far this year was the Blu-ray of Romeo and Juliet. I knew it was a highly regarded film but I didn't think it would necessarily ring my bell. As it turned out, I was quite surprised by just how much I enjoyed it. Highly recommended.👍
I have the Budd Boetticher , Randolph Scott DVD set Sony put out years ago and just watched the new 4K of Decision At Sundown and the jump in quality is astonishing, almost like seeing it for the first time again.
Ethan, yes, I’ve been very pleased with the Ranown Westerns set. Have a couple more of the films in the set left to watch and have been enjoying what I’ve seen so far.
Going by the 2023 releases that I have seen and not counting a 4K upgrade of a previous Criterion release, my 5 favorites are Hollywood Shuffle, Targets, One False Move, After Hours and Inland Empire.
Well, now I'm suddenly interested in Targets. I was weaned on Karloff horror as a kid and teenager over 50 years ago, and it's just hard to think of Karloff without associating with Frankenstein and the Mummy, so I've personally typecast Karloff. But I' warming up to the possibility now that you drove home point that Karloff sorta plays to that typecast, art imitating life.
Great picks and the honorable mentions I had on my radar, Petite Maman was the only one I wasn't familiar with. I picked up so many titles on my wishlist really looking forward to the next sale. After Hours is on the top of my list and would have grabbed Targets this year but my Barnes & Noble only had it on dvd.
I haven't seen Petite Maman, but I have seen My Life as a Zucchini, which I really enjoyed. I have a standalone Blu ray of it, so I likely won't be picking up that set.

Man, oh, man... The Servant was a great discovery on the Criterion Channel a few months back. Great exploration of the master/slave dynamic!

Rob, yes, that Romeo and Juliet release is an excellent one for sure. First time watch for me with the Criterion edition and I enjoyed it as well.

I saw Targets at a drive-in, ( anyone remember those?.. in the early 70s and I loved it..
