I am from the best government college in Gujarat.
prev year in the computer engineering branch all the students got placed
but this year only 60% got placed and the placement session is over in my college
and student who are placed all of them have minimum 2 year of bond
in IT only 40% are placed
overall college placement is dropped to only 50%
all the final-year students are depressed

Title is kind of misleading. It doesn't matter he's from Mechanical, he's doing coding from first year means he's more or less a CS guy. You do coding for 4 years obviously your coding will improve a lot.
