About 35,000 Elvis Presley fans descend upon the South Wales seaside town making it the largest Elvis Festival in Europe.
The background to how the Elvis Festival has grown is interesting. In 2004 author, show and film producer Peter Phillips attended an Elvis festival in Minnesota and thought it would be a great idea in Wales where he was originally from.

He is more than popular than ever, a lot of 'genuine' American musicians come over for the festival.
Honestly, not a fan of Elvis but Elvis festival looks so cool. Interesting to see so many people gather together to celebrate, to sing and simply to have pure fun for the whole weekend in remembrance of one of the most famous music legend. Truly enjoyed watching this video. Thanks for sharing.
We are not big Elvis fans either but you cant' avoid it, it just drags you in. This year was good as we were lucky to get dry weather and they've cracked down on the drunks.
Went to two Elvis festival,stayed in the Seabank.Amazing to see it all.Met the pavilion winner,he was staying in the Seabank.Pity about it being cancelled.Great video.
Yes, it was good fun. Although we are not big Elvis fans it was good to visit Memphis a few years ago

How fun! We travel to Las Vegas a couple of times a year and love the Elvis impersonators there! I think the dog show was my favorite! Best canine Elvis at 3:00 was awesome!!

That is hilarious, an Elvis festival in Wales! I wish we got a chance to see more of Wales while in the UK so we'll just have to try and see the Elvis festival next time we are there. Even the police and wearing the Elvis glasses!

Simple fact is, Welsh people absolutely adore Elvis. Most households had his records and we listened to them regularly growing up in the 60's and 70's. Even these days, there's at least 1 local "Elvis" in every little village in South Wales.
