On an island in the middle of the ocean with fishing gear and still starving, WOW!!!
If it wasn't for the production team letting loose flightless birds and pigs they would be dead by now 😂😂😂
That's not how fishing works.
@@BatCaveOz ever tried fishing from the shore? you'll see you actually get alot right from the shore.

I swear, the only people that Have survived on this show was the guys from Season 1
And the guys from season 2 mainly thanks to the one lad who could fish

I think they made leaving the island seem like too much of an option, which made them focus more on the social side of it than the actual survival side
I totally agree... S1 and S2 were the best thus far... after those 2 seasons alot of stuff just ended up questionable for me ... I wish I was there... I think the producers should get people from around the world with diff language and culture because that would be interesting to see how they would co-op with eachother etc
Ben - "I'm the hardest working fat guy you'll ever see." I watched through this whole series and didn't see him working hard once. Mostly he sat around complaining if he was told to do something, or that he would be told to do something.
that’s my dad, he was painted out to seem that way it’s js what telly does
just to say again: none of these people truly thrived and survived, they just waited for Bear to pick them. That's it.
If you can build a raft, you can definitely but a trap for fishes. Use crabs as bait or the gut from the pig and you'll be golden
Was thinking the same thing. Build a raft and post it up 50m from the beach near some rock and anchor it. Chum the water with guts and leftovers. One week you should have a good fishing ground going.
Are use fish to bait a trap and catch crab and lobster
@@decker625 I'm going crazy seeing that no team has done that season after season
@@obinna8741 hahaha so true, I've seen one group build two rafts, first one failed, to cross and go to another island.. instead of just making a fishing raft they could use everyday. But I guess they take the least experienced people. If people were good at survival it wouldn't make much of a show..
Dude they gotta do poor Brits vs poor Americans. That would go insanely well or insanely badly.
or poor Brits vs new immigrants to Britain
I was considered a poor American the whole time I was growing up. I would literally be able to go out on my own and do better than the whole group. What bewilders me is all the talk about food but not the hunting of food and preparing something to hunt with.
In the earlier seasons it was about trying to get a group that could succeed, now it's just reality TV where they create drama
they clearly keep dropping those birds off for them since they can't find their own food
@@Arthur_King_of_the_Britons brits always create drama, i can see why grylls choose these guys.
@@Arthur_King_of_the_Britons I don't mind real normal emotions and like to see the adapt and survival part. But it's getting to be why not just put them on Gilligan's island or in NY Park.
If they were truly stranded the only one’s that would survive are the ones that adapted to be more like Shireen. She is always working on something even when she is tired. Most of the other’s lay on the beach and complain about how hungry they are but not willing to even try to do something about it 75% of the time.
lady is crazy af. her drive is really good but her mental is all over the place
Nah she's the one who gets everyone killed!! Also, she's the one who complaints the most and blames everyone for her mistakes!
she has to do so much to offset her bitter, abusive, toxic personality. she's a good worker, but a poor leader.
Amen, isn't that the truth!? I agree with you 100%. Shireen was a hard worker and because of her pushing, they caught and ate more food.
@@ryanbarker5217 Shireen wasn't lazy, like the rest of the crew. She had to talk rough to them, so they would get off of their lazy butts and help her catch those tame birds so they could eat. But, then the lazy guys ate her share of the breast meat and left her the scraps. Her, Barnes and the two other ladies should have had first pickings of the meat, then the others eat what's left. And who could lead a group of lazy bums like those rich guys??
20:30 Wow poor guy. You hear that all the time these days, these ungrateful creatures abandoning a guy because he's too occupied providing for the children and her.
And then get divorcer*ped by this twisted system.
Then the boyfriend moves in, rent free, eating the food you paid for. This happened to a coworker and it tore him up. His ex-wife used drugs and neglected the kids, but the court always sided with her. The boyfriend saw the kids every day, but he only got to see them every other week.
@@DJoseph-sp4ij They never abandon a provider, until they're sure, that they've got a new one on the hook.
It's arguably worse than rape. He is being disrespected and denied time with his own children essentially by the whole society (because that's what the court system ought to represent). There is no way for him to ever feel safe or trust a person, especially women, all while the government is aiding her by taking his kids, his money and his living space, effectively making him a slave and threatening bodily harm and imprisonment if he disobeys.
Rape victims can sometimes recover, as it is a one time event, but he is in it for life.
Yeah that point I would go homeless for 8 years let her wreck her life and then get back into the Union
wtf u on about that’s my dad u don’t know fuck all about my mum
That steelworker would die withing at least one month by himself there.
I would love to be there and enjoy the raw experiance of surviving. 35 days isnt long enough to really test their skills. Would be great for 60 days.
I've been thinking of simply stranding myself on an island and trying it 😂
Watching them come together and what lead to it is really amazing.
The one who survives, is the one whose head is firmly in place and does not hesitate to act.
With lazy people around leave them and just enjoy what you got for yourself coz you earned it.
I wonder how long ago someone planted those pineapples and how much suggesting the production crew had to do to get them to swim over there.
Pineapples take years to grow. It's possible they grew there by accident.
@@annep.1905 Possibly, would be interesting to know. I was surprised how long they take to grow considering the consumption of them worldwide.
@@trentspencer7991 I believe that once the pineapple plant is established, you can get a new pineapple from the plant every year. Not sure on that score, though. Also, some other guy here claims that he plants pineapple and that it only takes one season from planting to harvest. Again, I don't know, because everything I read online said 2 to five years to get your first pineapple, and the only guy I ever met in person who planted a pineapple had to wait at least 2 years before harvesting one, and his first one was very small. So...
It's definitely intentionally grown, or transplanted. Pineapples in the wild do not look like that, nor do they reach those commercial sizes or sweetness. They are not coconuts that are carried on waves to land and grow on shores.
Yes, there are reasons why survival experts bash this show. It is curated and scripted to fool and impress the untrained, which is pretty much what Bear Grylls' career has been.
@@sleepyheadz Fruit has been transplanted before by wild animals. It's also possible that it was planted by someone entirely unrelated to the show. Much of what he sats about surviving in the wild, at least insofar as relates to my own experience, is very accurate.
I just checked and where I am in the southern hemisphere (Australia) pineapples fruit between November and March, the wet season is also November to about May give or take and so by this program's logic it is entirely possible to find nine ripe pineapples on a remote island somewhere... what I dont believe is that any of the people on this show survived more than two nights on their own without constant support.
Lucky that the pineapples were ripe.😂

Remove Ego's and look how great it can be. Ego is the killer of Peace.
At least in the top #10 anyway.
I really love Barnes. I believe he is a true gent!
It only took 4 weeks of starvation, failures, some and wins to cool people's heads and work together as a full group in the end.
The amount of trash strewn along the beaches and throughout the jungle is disgusting.
Last I checked, about 90% of trash in the ocean came from 10 big rivers in asia and africa. Most of the rest of it comes from other rivers in those same places and south america. It's silly how western people are getting beaten over the head with trash in the ocean, when we actually contribute minuscule amount. If we all ceased to exist, well over 95% of trash that's annually dumped into the ocean would still find its way there.
28:47 Now, that's an interesting shoot ;) [the boat to the right, behing Barn's back].
Were they not supposed to be alone there? Is the whole thing scripted and unhonest?
They had to show them where they planted the pineapple.
Probably it is, but if it isn't you still can't expect survival series to let the participants drown just for the show and the sake of reality and shooting close-ups from a dying person on TV lol
Ben was the heart of this society.
28:47 Oops! Someone forgot to edit out the boat in the background 😂😂

If not for being a physical liability I would love to be on this show!!! (Let me be an honorary Brit in my fantasy world, please! lol!)
Shareen is forgetting the men need the additional food. She is probably 5'2" maybe 110-120lbs. James is at least 6ft probably 190 -200lbs and Tan probably 5'10" and about the same due to broad build. They are not going to eat the same as her or the other women.
She did not pick on Barnes because he had killed the birds whilst on the hunt with her.
I didn’t like her she was really bossy, so this is very hard for me to say, but she was the one who pushed for the hunt. She was one of the people that did the work. She was entitled to have the same amount of food. She didn’t complain about the other guy that helped with the hunt.
@@ChristineP-qp6vn oh I agree on that, she was taking it seriously (which i think was good). I think the others were there for a holiday, whereas I think she knew (from experience) that getting the water, shelter and fire going were job no.1.
But that said; despite her good ability to survive; in a team your only as fast as the weakest member. You cannot think "share equally" when you have size difference like. But then I guess when you're that hungry and stressed out, its hard to think.
@@ChristineP-qp6vn they fail as a group because pushing for the hunt shouldn't have to be said, it should be an automatic job by now, not a desperate event. she's a good worker, but a poor leader, having to offset her absolutely toxic personality with results.
it's not about who 'earned' more food, it's simple biology -- men need more calories. moralizing over it is a bad path to go down.
How have these people got this far in life?

Best season I've seen hands down
Geeze Dr. Bossy! ! "If you don't help me catch this chicken, you don't get to eat any, And I'm serious!!" That's RUTHLESS,... And I'm serious!!
Then you're not cooking it over the community fire! And you're not drinking community water, And you're not sleeping in the community shelter, And I mean it...!
Whoever is around is part of the group. You don't have to like them, Or enjoy their company. You just have to survive.
People may be irritating or frustrating.
Remember, you're likeley very testy in a survival situation.
Frustration, And irritation, Although both very annoying And uncomfortable, They're also both highly survivable!
Just remember, "no man is an island to himself". I haven't seen any one of these people that could build their own fire, their own shelter, and catch their own food, purify their own water, and still avoid injury doing it all by themselves, AND Fast enough to keep up with needs, Which means (in effect) dying slowly.
People have forgotten ...part of surviving is getting along , and working with others!
So they have allegedly not had much to eat, if anything for 5 weeks, yet no one has lost any weight? Half of them are still obese or fat. Season 2 was great, but it’s very difficult to get invested in this season.
Cool.. you got some food in your stomachs. Now let's do that again now you have energy... oh wait no.. let's use the energy to argue

Pineapple never grows just by accident 😂 so the team went there some weeks prior to plant it. What a planning
No. Pineapple take years to grow, not months.
@@HubsAlgarveKnives Everything that I read online about pineapples says that it takes anywhere from two to five years from planting to harvest, plus I met a guy who planted one and he had his for a couple years before it produced a pineapple, and it was a really small one.

they probably been trying to get their survivors to go to the island for years, hinting at some bounty in the woods, and these mfrs finally went and made a raft and did it
45:45 is almost poetry
I love this stuff.
This series proved that the biggest division between people is class, not age or gender. Naturally race is not an issue at all despite all the race baiting from the elites. But it was heartwarming to see them all get on in the end.
None of these people have survived...
I personally wouldn't have lasted from the sand fly bites alone. Being itchy would have driven me to over the edge and off the island after a few days.
that's the show I want to see
I'm sure the people on the island were thrilled for their time to have come to an end. But I personally hate to see this particular group or groups coming to an end. Didn't think their adventure to the other island would be as fruitful, literally, as it was. Glad they learned from the first attempt and pressed on. Well done to this entire group. So many proved me wrong in a good way. Looking forward to seeing how they got on with their lives after the show.
I cant beleive they had fishing net and used it to make a raft and not fish with it. Holy shit. There was more protein swimming in the see than there is on dry ground and they could have been fed well for the entire time if they had learnt how to fish.
Wow that was a really tuff time for them but I think the richer people survive the best ❤
Enjoyed this season. Much better casting
70% sleeping, 20% arguing, 5% searching for food and water and 2% building camps, 1% meeting and 2% swimming 😂🤣
to find fruits when you are starving must be heaven !
So….there was just a random plantation of perfectly ripe pineapple on that island..no other birds had got to it.. none where rotten..they looked like way to perfect..cmon pull the other one!!
they're given simple tools but no gogles.
Human nature and why we have survived as a species.
These people were not part of a collective before this meeting but,, they still came together as a united group (eventually.)
These poeple arent even losing weight?
I lost a shitt ton of weight when i ran out of food for week and was homeless. These people have been here for much longer and still look the same as day 1.
im a little irritated that nobody has thought about the termites in terms of food. they are great protein. i am not that keen on eating bugs but if i was starving i could probably stomach it.
fish nets work the best when they are in the water lol
Just WOOOW!!!
Sharene is obviously a high energy genius working from a huge knowledge base.

Barnes is an absolute menace to those chickens the production crew drop off
If have a chance i will join to this show..ti much food to this island rootcrop..and i saw coconut tree.
I wish they would stop getting peole who are so, you know... useless in this particular situation.
I hope they make a new series and its longer than 5 weeks! I'd really enjoy a good solid 6 months experience. That would be really interesting.
It's also very dangerous, first few sessions a good bunch almost died most still dealing with body and health complications to this day, but I get what your saying tho I feel 5 weeks isn't enough cos to be real it takes about 3 weeks to find a rhythm when stranded, well by what I seen so far, 2 weeks to 3 weeks they algood and cruseing till the end
Theyd all die if it was 5 weeks 😂

I'm just watching this for the first time and I called it from the first episode that Shireen, as annoying as she is, is the one I'd pick to survive with. If the energy from the drama could be directed toward securing clean water, shelter, and food, they might be able to keep up with Shireen. I think by the end, they ended up working smarter rather than harder and had time, not for more drama, but for more camaraderie. It was sad to see Ben having to leave after passing such a milestone as accepting the other group and really coming out of his shell as one of the heroes.
Men do require 500 more calories per day than women and Barnes is 6ft 4” and not exactly a small frame... James looks so thin as well... the shares shouldn’t be equal, it should be enough that each requires, for that’d be fair.
They may have survived but they did nothing but bicker and do the bare essentials.
5 years in egypt is enough :)
The fattest ones did not lose weight in 40 days, that is very strange… It is very difficult for obese people to overcome their addiction to food, I don't think they stopped eating like that so easily...
its all well scripted seasons with help from production whenever they needed it,
basically the production wants to portray these episodes with high DRAMA.....one day full belly meal the other day the starvation no matter what they hunt be it a bird, or a pig or an alligator.....same goes for water, no matter how much rain pours in they had to go 45-50 minutes round trips to get that muddy water.....
having said that it does have some REALITY in it too.......
I realize they don’t have survival training, but it doesn’t take a genius to recognize that when it rains collect as much of that water as possible. I didn’t see them doing this.
@@ChristineP-qp6vn exactly....how often we see after the heavy rains their camp washed out with rain water flowing from all directions and they didnt even dig a hole in ground and store some rain water in it one more idea would be they all have wincheaters.....even if one guy dig a hole in sand and lays that windcheater they can get clean water......
Instead of sitting in camp, they could go fishing, they had equipment.
