Love Frank, What a brilliant guy !!! He is a great person and his attitude is spot on, If only more footballer's today had his humble and down to earth attitude. Guy left school at 14 and grew up in Milton and has more common sense than 90% of the spoilt brats we have today who went to high level schools etc
I didn't know that but, i agree, he has a different way of looking at things and aftern I read his collum in a paper (couple of year agao) was very pleasantly surprised
I guess Im asking randomly but does anyone know a method to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Jaziel Ephraim Instablaster =)
I moved from Glasgow to Dagenham in Essex for a few years, and used to go and watch him play at Upton Park, went on a stag night in Hollywoods Romford, and could not believe Frank was sitting in the VIP bar upstairs, spoke to him for about 20 minutes, and even shared his bubbly with me. One of the most down to earth footballers i have met, Top Top man.
im rangers fan in london,as a jock down south, remember mcavennie wat a player, fast on the break, ball played over defence macca was lightning quick, fantastic player, great guy wae the banter
Frank is a legend at West Ham. Loved by us all.
In our hearts down at West Ham, Frank was and still is the `down to earth` cheeky funny `devil may care rascal` Glasgee Cockney who brought joy to the fans at Upton Park - A legend!
As a Rangers fan , i have to say Frank is a top man , what a player he was, rangers vs celtic in those days was superb, both teams had great players .
Robert Alexander my mums from Glasgow, they moved to Brighton in the 60's & still here, they were all rangers. I was a bit of a naughty kid & when I was about 13-14 I got a Celtic top & started following Celtic, to wind them all up, rebellious etc.
The 80's were some great times. 👍🏼
Every ⚒ fan adored Frank. In his heart, Celtic will always be his no.1 but I guarantee you that he is more of a legend to us than he is to them. Hammers fans are so loyal and he loves West Ham.
Massive respect to the Rangers fans who put all the bullshit aside to praise A Celtic Legend!! I felt the same way about Mark Hately! (But that's between us)!!
Frank's just a good man , plain and simple
1985/86...The best 9 months of my 5 decades supporting West Ham.And he ain't changed one bit.....One McAvennie....Great Days.
Just met frank for first time at meet n greet today..what you see Is what you get.. absolute gent!🍀
Good interview frank is a top man ! From a gers man.. and he's bang on about the state of the country. It's a shambles under our current gov

robg71 😂😂😂👍🏼
Milton muff diver🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Az a West Ham fan who witnessed this guy partnership with Tony Cottee in the 86 season, Frank will always have a place in the hearts of all Hammers. That Millwall hat trick waz an amazing parting gift.
Boyhood hero. Me and Jamie played in the field scoring goals by "Frank McAvenue" for the whole summer holidays until we got your name right!! Love you Frank and thanks for the goals ( and memories).

Due to the tv blackout of football in 1985/86 I think people knew him more for being on Wogan than playing for West Ham!!! Great player, one of the main reasons why West Ham nearly won the championship in 85/86. Thanks for this!!!

Really enjoyable interview James wi Frank....he could've been on stage like Billy Connolly telling his funny stories.Btw Frank, another guy who should've been at 1986 Mexico World Cup was Tommy Burns...I'm a gers fan but really felt for him not making it....cannae believe we didnae beat Uruguay after them getting man sent off in first minute and that sitter Stevie Nicol missed. Thanks again guys, great interview.

living in milton 50yds from old deaf and dumb school [burned down] frank and james great chat.
I used to enjoy seeing Frank play at West Ham back in the day. It was like a different World back then, compared to today's football. It all seems money orientated now, with too many foreign players.
One memory I have from back then is that whenever Frank got injured on the pitch and the Physio ran on, some of the crowd used to shout out, "Bring on the hairspray!" (He had great hair back then)!! 😂
The man is a legend. Another great interview, thank you James! 🙂👍
