GIANTS ON THE MOVE - Transport Professionals in Action | Full Documentary
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 5. 12. 2020
- How does a 140-ton, 40-meter-long mine milling machine get from its manufacturer to the harbor? The perfect solution for this is a truck crane. But heavy loads like this one are extremely precise: every narrow curve becomes a problem, every road sign has to give way. This documentary shows truck crane teams doing their difficult jobs on Germany's narrow streets and construction sites. What difficulties do the transport professionals expect?

I never realized a crane could bend like that
If it couldn't bend, it would snap
@@elanjacobs1 yeah it stands to reason, I've just never seen it before
That was some bend that wasn't it ...... flexibility at its best đ
Weirdly it looks quite a lot, but the boom was about 60-70m so a 1-2m deflection actually isn't that much, Could probably take quite a lot more.
Me either!!! I don't think I would've pushed it that far to find out either... LOLOL
Die Dokus sind genial!
I love Welt Documentaries !!!!!
Very , very nice. I liked it too much thinking I can watch more and longer.

âthe steel bends under its 10 ton loadâ I watched a similar documentary and the crane in that had a lighting capacity of 750 tonnes, crazy
Excellent. Quay is pronounced key.
Is that the Kurzgesagt voice guy? Great video
I thought so too, his name is Steve Taylor but I didn't see any credits on this doc.
Thanks !

Right a little,

I have had to haul some modern cranes that sometimes dispatch would have to call the operator to help with what the computer had me locked out of. Sophisticated machines for sure they are.

FITS LIKE A GLOVE
5:25 Itâs hard to be straight when there are 2 men with such big booms
not a single person on that construction site had high-vis clothing or a hard hat or safety glasses,.. at least the crane driver had a high-vis jacket... ( I always thought Germany was way beyond other nations when it came to safe working conditions)
Are you sure?
Why? Its not stupid usa rules
And we drive as fast as we can! Not 60 mphâŠ.đ€Șđ€Ș
31:58 it's not a 60 ton mobile crane it's a 200 tonner LTM 1200 5.1 All Terrain Crane
Think they meant its own GVW, lifting weight indeed is a lot more
Do these documentaryâs come on tv or is it just CZcams
Yes they come on tv too. you just have to find the right channel. Something like the Discovery or History channel.

WELT Documentary should be called WELT Advertising.
A crane operator with the name of rieger, lol
When these heavy transportations damage public infrastructure do they fix them back or it all left to the government...???
Of course they have to fix it.
Guess! Its not usa!
Hey Mr manager where is you reflecting jacket hivis.
Why?
Yano what would be interesting to know how much would the driver get for that drive ?

14:38 the narator said it wrong about the 40 ton load, it's the boom length at 40 meters, at that state the crane according to the computer display can only lift 29 tons of load at 14.3 meter radius, and that size of load doesn't reach 40 tons, it's only approximately 20 tons.
The exaggerated narration made it look like machine is as big as the city of London on Mortal engines movie. The truth is the size of the machine is very normal of its kind..
Ang tagal pa nitong video nato. Eh angliit lang naman pala nung crane. ... đ Walang-wala pa sa mga ginagawa ng Liebherr.
Not to mention, I cringed every time he said "crane driver" instead of "crane operator." LOL!
Just a side note: The tower crane is normally set in what will be the elevator shaft when all the floors are completed.

It doesn't have any ballast with him so he is as light as he can get, in Germany there are a lot of laws who prevent to high loads. The roads just can't handel more. Its a old road system so its not made for high loads
31:30 âSort things outâ (Tow the bastardâs cars)
Why didnât the advance man know ahead of time all the problematic points? Itâs not like this is the first piece of equipment that they have sent to the port.
The way Germany is de-industrialising I imagine this manufacturer will also move to US
No professional loads metal to metal on a barge..... The craft has rubber mats and timber load spreaders to stop any slide, also the deck must be specifically rated to take the deadweight of the load in such a small space.

@@sjefhendrickx2257 it's true how?
33:40 Could it be possible, to move cran to the side, by using of side hydraulic legs? Lift the cran, and simultaneously pull the 2 legs on one side, and push 2 on other? Could be faster, at least theoretically.
The mechanist that moves the legs doesnât expect the legs to be loaded
@@cheesebusiness Yeah, its understandable, that standard equipment probably could not support such feature. The pregoing comment is written, only to share the idea. In the hope, that key peoples will see this problem, will influence, and mobile cranes will have such feature in the future, and driver will not have problems and swear on tight construction sites, easy moving his crane sideways, through hydraulic legs. My first education was also mobile crane driver, and i also had similar situations, thats why i understand Andy very well.

Translated speech always takes away from a film/show/etc (at least it does for me). No matter what, a translator can't give the same inflection, impact; they can't relay or pass on the passion of the original speakers words. It's just..... It's like a deaf person has to read a script to an illiterate person to prepare them for a role in a play. It's just, off I guess. It takes me out of the in depth world that the show works VERY hard to immerse the viewer in (as if you are there), it's like a constant reminder that "yup, you are just watching CZcams".
Whats Gigants
Big onesâŠ.
Entire video is unwatchable. You would think you would have discovered image stabilization and bought a damn GIMBAL for the camera. My God it's like riding on a ferry boat.

Log out of camera angles make it look worse than it is in the dramatization was getting to me I mean give me a break a crane bending like that at 10T that's 21,00 0ounds. Doctrine of the lifting capacity of around 750T. 10T lifting a piece of receipt paper. And stopping for 10 minutes to move objects that are in the way out of the way give me a break you're not going to be stuck behind schedule like that they allow well over an hour for little things like that these people aren't stupid but the narrator certainly tries to act like we as the viewers are stupid
