I was a tourist in Lithuania. Being in Vilnius I felt like I was in a Polish city. The King and Queen of Poland are buried in Vilnius. This medieval castle is located in Trakai and on the other side of the lake there is a white palace of the Polish Tyszkiewicz family. There are many Polish churches in Vilnius itself, because there were a lot of Poles in Vilnius. The only thing I liked was their sourdough bread, it was grea👍
This is so interesting - we would love to visit Poland one day!
Back to school panove...
Yes, Poland is the greatest country in the world, but they couldn't get their own Kings, so they needed Lithuanian ones constantly... dreaming about Polish - Lithuanian Commonwealth again?
@@musMiro Not all the time, but only one Jagiełło, when there was a Polish-Lithuanian union
You talk so nicely about regaining independence. In Europe, it was the first European union between Poland and Lithuania in the Middle Ages and lasted until the partitions. But you do not mention that Lithuania cooperated with the Germans and, as a result, the Lithuanians murdered the Jewish and Polish communities, officials, scouts and national activists in the Ponary forest. And it was only in 1940 that Russia occupied Nazi Lithuania and they lost their state until the 1980s, when Poland initiated the collapse of communism.
Thank you for sharing this information. It is important to understand the implications of the war and occupation for all and we value that you've given us more context!
I just wanted to say that the loss of independence was a consequence of Lithuania's cooperation with Hitler's Germany.@@alfieandeloiseabroad
this comment is the reason, why we, Lithuanians, disgust polish plumbers.
murdered polish communities????what bs are you talking about?why you dont mention anything about polish attacked Lithuania and occupied Vilnius?Wilno naszhe lover???
@@souldoc123 Nevermind him. If you read both of his comments under this video, he's just some delusional or mentally ill polish person.
And to the owners of the channel I'd recommend removing his derogatory comments, as most of what he said are lies, and are obvious attempts to belittle Lithuania and may start a comment war :)
welcome!))
Thank you so much:)
