Use a a cotton towel with the iron not the silicon mat. That will stop the steam also you can drain the iron of the water. An ironing board works better then the heat mat. Put the evenlope in between the towel on the ironing board. Then press the full body of iron down for a copule of seconds on the towel and then pick it up. Try not to move the iron like you are ironing a shirt. Just up and down motions. The iron will be hotter then your laminating machine hence holding it down for a couple of seconds. Also you can adjust the heat seatings on the iron. It works . i have used it. It just takes a little practice and knowing your iron.
Probably would have been better without the steam on, if you can't turn the steam off empty the water out of the iron first. It's not bad though, the envelope is still usable.
This seems more promising than the hair straightener at the very least 😂 Probably with some practice you could get it fairly flat, but obviously an actual laminator is going to be best
I actually had high hopes for this 😂😂 Maybe contact paper would work, or as I always called it “sticky back plastic” altho if I was a broke bestie needing a quick envelope on the cheap I’d probably be ok using the iron method. Not the best but better than the hair straighteners imho 🎉🎉😂😂
The iron was definitely better than the hair straightener. Maybe if you had used a “dry” iron it would have worked better.

No steam! Actually an actually laminator works fabulous. I picked mine up for $15.
