We fit a Forge subframe strutbrace to Paul's Corsa VXR. We offer an honest, unsponsored review of the part. Music DJ Quads Soundcloud: / aka-dj-quads Joakim Karud Soundcloud: / joakimkarud
Let us know what you’d like to see next! And forgive the shaky camera view. We need some suggestions for stability if there are any sick directors out there!
I owned a Corsa vxr 61 plate had it from new and sold it and regreted it the 2 years I had it I never had any problems good reliable little car been thinking about buying another one the same shape as yours but it's the bonnet that puts me off with that fake plastic trim and so for your next video maybe do something with that e.g. fill it in great videos keep it up
tommy gun hey man thanks for commenting! I’m really liking the car and having heaps of fun mucking about with it! Which bit of the bonnet is annoying you. The fake little scoop bit at the top of the bumper? Could maybe wrap it?
Hello, I come from Germany and also drive an OPC (VXR). Since I don't understand the video, I wanted to ask you whether the underbody strut is worth it. I have already installed a coilover suspension, but I would like the car to be more stable in the curves remains
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Stanley Alessandro I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Any updates or additional comments after 6 months of driving the VXR with the Forge brace? I used to have an enormous 4 point front underbrace for a Honda Type R and the difference it made to the steering & high speed stability on motorways was astonishing.
stuartmolyneux64 really similar comments to yourself. A really cool bit of kit. We’re actually going to buy one for the 1.4T as well so hopefully that helps. It feels like a bowl of jelly at the moment.
@@haphazardgarage6439 - cool. Out of interest, which model, year and tune is the 1.4T ? Mine is the 140ps (138bhp) version. The limited edition comes with lowered sports suspension as standard, which gives the car a very direct 'hot hatch' feel to the steering. The front splitter has a habit of scraping on speed humps and it has similar problems getting onto car ramps as your Corsa VXR, so it's probably 15mm lower than a lot of Astra J models. The Astra J is apparently a heavy car compared to the Corsa VXR. Something like 1400kg.
stuartmolyneux64 its a 150bhp Red Edition. Quite nice to drive but doesn’t seem to handle as directly as the VXR. Some lowering springs and a few braces will tighten it up really nicely! All in the pipeline!
@@haphazardgarage6439 ah awesome. I've seen the Corsa Red edition before. There's a K & N Typhoon CAI kit (with heat shield) available for the 1.4T engine and it's very, very loud. It's an expensive bit of kit, but i reckon you could get a lot of views on a video like that. I look forward to the next video. Do you post this channel on any other social media (except Instagram) ?
stuartmolyneux64 thanks buddy! We’ll check that out and maybe see if there’s a second hand one going around. Nothing else yet buddy! Hopefully get back filming really soon! The Scottish weather forced us to take a wee break, but the parts are mounting up haha
If the old brace was 2 thick and the new is five times the thickness would it be better to get longer bolts or were these quite long? I may be being dense 😂. Very interesting may try this if I can get the part and it's not too expensive.
WASAYRUDEBOYZ1 You’re all good man! Nah the original bolts are long enough that the additional thickness doesn’t make a difference. There is enough of a tolerance.
@@haphazardgarage6439 cannot find the part labeled as being for the e vxr . Is it labelled as being for the d vxr? How's the mod holding up or did you end up removing it. Many thanks for your help 🤘
@@haphazardgarage6439 on second thoughts no worries found an ep one for same price that specifies both. Think forge haven't tested it so won't recommend it in there specifications 👍
How long have you had it fitted for? I fitted one, then it started making odd noises so took it off and put standard back on and it went, might have just been coincidence...
Potentially, but I had never experienced the diff noise on my motor till fitting that brace, hence putting original bar back on. It was was when pulling away from zero it made all sorts of noises, as I say could have just been coincidence. I'll give it another try and see what its like.
editiburon thanks mate. Yeah I’m on the Facebook pages. I’m actually going to work on some content for this channel. Got a few deals that might mean we can get back to making videos.
Average Mtb'er we couldn’t find a specific torque setting. Snug it up and give it another 1/4 or 1/2 turn. Not so tight that you’re straining the bolt. You’ll feel it start to get a natural resistance.

Did the same to my Astra j. Vxr.good little mod

nice video! you got a link to this?
You done a mid silencer delete too, what you think it, i love mine
have you fitted a rear brace to the vxr
Seen these on eBay for 1.4t E’s aswell. As they have vxr suspensions I am assuming this would fit 1.4ts aswell?
CalzonG16 looks like it according to the Forge website. The compatible vehicles list includes 1.4 Corsa
Do you have any problem of the steering and car shaking at around 60 to 80 miles ph when you put it on
Average Mtb'er hey dude, no I don’t experience any shaking at high speed. In fact probably more stability.

Kyle Baldwin just a day now. I’ll keep an eye on it though buddy thanks. Were the bolts vibrating?
Does your car have the performance pack?
Kyle Baldwin no it doesn’t, were you coincidentally getting the PP diff noises?
Potentially, but I had never experienced the diff noise on my motor till fitting that brace, hence putting original bar back on. It was was when pulling away from zero it made all sorts of noises, as I say could have just been coincidence. I'll give it another try and see what its like.
Kyle Baldwin odd that mate! Let me know how you get on and I’ll keep you posted if I notice anything too mate!
Hi mate!, looking to install this on a 1.4t, what are your thoughts a year later?
editiburon aye still absolutely loving it mate. Installed one on our slammed 1.4T as well. It handles awesomely.
HaphazardGarage great, i will order it soon. Ty for the answer, i think i have seen you on the Corsa E FB group, keep rocking that VXR!
editiburon thanks mate. Yeah I’m on the Facebook pages. I’m actually going to work on some content for this channel. Got a few deals that might mean we can get back to making videos.
How tight in terms of torque should it be?
Average Mtb'er we couldn’t find a specific torque setting. Snug it up and give it another 1/4 or 1/2 turn. Not so tight that you’re straining the bolt. You’ll feel it start to get a natural resistance.
Any problems of creaking?
Average Mtb'er I can’t say I’ve noticed anything like that at all! Speed bumps are maybe slightly more jerky in the car, but no knocks or creaks.
would this fit a 1.4 sri
Probably, although I think there is a specific one.
Where did you get it from?
Sheridan Reilly I bought this one second hand from a Facebook vxr group. I think there are some on eBay too buddy
