"I mean all you have to do is take a leap of faith" and in my mind I started going "Leap of faith, Leap of faith, Leap of faith, OHHHHH OHHHH Only thing to do is jump over the moon!!"
whenever I go on long trips I'll listen to the soundtrack and read along, and pause whenever there is dialogue! :) hehe I'm such a nerd! I want to get it signed by all my favorite Elphaba's... that's my goal! [Idina, Steph., Kerry]
I love Idina! I only wish I got to see her while she was on Broadway. I got to see the show in Chicago back in September and I'm seeing it next month with the tour cast so I'm happy with that...but this was great to see Idina get "greenified." :)
I'm going in London in March and I'm so excited! Everyone seems to really enjoy it so I can't wait. I'm glad to hear you like it even without the original cast because I was a little worried it wouldn't be as good without them.
idina is breathtaking she is such a great rolemodel and the best Elphaba I have ever heard and her how unique she is just makes her more amazing WE LOVE YOU IDINA
Theres a website. It's in Chinese, but it's called bilibili.com it's like CZcams but Chinese style!!lol u search wicked in the search box and a whole bunch comes up!! It's not the best quality but it's a full show!!!
Wicked is not one of my favorite musicals in the world but you got to appreciate the pop culture impact. I was already a fan of Idina long before Frozen! There are so many things she should do in between voice recordings as Elsa! On the day that I saw Frozen at the El Capitan in Hollywood, I wore my Wicked T-shirt to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary.
Awww that's so awesome!! It would be some to see a show together in LA. The second time I saw Wicked was at the Pantages in the 6th grade with Eden and Megan. Way back when!
This had to have been earlier than December 06'. Idina left the Broadway production in January of 05' -- by December 06' she was in London. LOVE THIS WOMAN! She was my first Elphaba! November 6, 2003 -- I'll never forget it!
My granddaughter went from Mexico City (where she lives, as a Mexican citizen) to NYC to see 'Wicked the Musical' in Dec 2012, to celebrate her 15th birthday. She told me recently: "It was really wicked... and I loved it"! So did her Mom (my daughter), her Dad and her younger sister. BTW: both she and her sister sing, dance, play the piano and guitar, and have performed in movies and on stage here in Mexico. Maybe she will be the next reincarnation of the 'Wicked Witch of the West'!
Oh i luv her...If she dose another show im gonna go say hi...i got 2 go bak stage like 2 years ago in march and she was soooooo nice 2 me!!!!I LUV YOU IDINA!!!!
It IS!!!! i saw Stephanie J. Block....FLAWLESS!!!! In my opinion... best Elphaba EVER! Steph and Idina are AMAZING!!!! i loved it sooo much.. im going 2 see it again.....
I absolutely LOVE Idina. No other Elphaba can compare and she sings and acts with such emotion. Even during the short part of Defying Gravity that was played in this video, i got all teary eyed. She. Is. AMAZING.
Idina Mezel is Elphaba..she not of been the first but she created the character. Her and Kristen Chenoweth and the way they worked together created "Wicked"
ever since i saw idina in rent, i knew she was an amazing actress that could totally pull elphie off. she is spectacular, i can't wait to see it again!
What cracks me up is how she said,"A leap of faith." As soon as I heard it I sang that part from the song =D And I find it ironic how her character is Elsie (I think..?) and the song "Over the Moon" from Rent is about a cow named Elsie. Strange little things like that.. Anyways, I haven't seen Wicked, but I love the music and, of course, Idina. Can't wait to see it! -Keely.
I live in Australia and I'm waiting for it to come to Adelaide so I can finally see it! I actually wouldn't mind if there was a movie- obviously it wouldn't be as good as the musical- but its something you can watch over and over again and sing along to. Live theatre you can't do that, but its gr8 cuz it's live and everything that happens is different each time- which is why I love theatre! The downside is- you can't take the performance home with you, but with movies- you can.
I went to this Wicked broadway workshop in New York and they said her face, her neck, her hands up to her wrists and then for her arms there's a sheer fabric
Haha, that's so funny how she can give such a good interview during makeup. lol Whenever I am getting stuff caked on my face for a show, I get all fidgety and uncivil. haha She is such a professional.! And absolutely beautiful too! The only person who can pull of green so well.
i just saw Wicked and both Glinda and Elphaba were played by the understudies, Lauren Ashley Zakrin (glinda) and Mariand Torres (elphaba) They did such an awesome performance! Glinda reminded me and sounded like Tiffany Thorton's character Tawni from sonny with a chance
While she may not have been the first person to sing "Defying Gravity" or do a reading for Elphaba (as most of us know it was Stephanie J. Block), she was still brought in very early. She was cast as Elphaba in 2001 and did several readings, which left her plenty of time to put her own spin on it before the San Francisco try-out. Stephen even credits her for raising the ending of "Defying Gravity" an octave because she felt that the vocals should soar to match her physical ascension. (cont.)
Actually naturallyhi3, her character in Wicked is named Elphie (short for Elphaba), but you were close! xD I saw Wicked on Broadway about 2 months ago, and it was AMAZING! Idina doesn't play Elphie on Broadway anymore, so I didn't get to see her, but the show was still awesome. You should definitely see it whenever you get the chance, because you'll love it! :]
I love how she is so softly spoken but she has such a powerful singing voice
aisham I feel so late

"I read the book, and I absolutely loved the book, loved the character in the book"
Yesss same!

The moment she said "Leap of faith" my mind switched to Rent then I couldn't get my mind off it so I had to go watch the movie xD
i lol'd when she said "leap of faith"
Moo with me.
"I mean all you have to do is take a leap of faith" and in my mind I started going "Leap of faith, Leap of faith, Leap of faith, OHHHHH OHHHH Only thing to do is jump over the moon!!"
OMG YESSSSSS!
MOO WITH ME. Sorry this is so late.
5:19 the little 'Hee' from her, killed me with her cuteness!

And that is why it is awesome casting with Idina as Rachel's mother! :)
My gosh Idina is a goddess
wow it is kind of hard not seeing her green. im glad she did this part . i saw the show about 2 weeks ago it was awsome. shes pretty
whenever I go on long trips I'll listen to the soundtrack and read along, and pause whenever there is dialogue! :) hehe I'm such a nerd! I want to get it signed by all my favorite Elphaba's... that's my goal! [Idina, Steph., Kerry]
I went 2 watch wicked twice when i was much younger. I saw Idina Menzel and Kristin. It was amazing!

On Broadway. Saw this clip first time long before it opened in London.
oh my god, when she said "leap of faith" at 2:46 it reminded me of Rent when she does Maureen's protest. xD I LOVE HER SO MUCH. SHES AMAZING.
Wicked is Incredible I recommened who hasn't seen it go and see it!
When she said "Leap of Faith" I was thinking... she sang that in RENT for the protest. XD
I love idina :)
I love her even more know that I know she's read the book. ^_^
she is so magical.
:p
i
"Leap of Faith" Rent moment. Hehe. Okay, I'm finished now.
What cracks me up is how she said,"A leap of faith." As soon as I heard it I sang that part from the song =D
And I find it ironic how her character is Elsie (I think..?) and the song "Over the Moon" from Rent is about a cow named Elsie.

Leap of faith is an expression too =]
She looked crazy when she said the ground me in to those who ground me in defying gravity.
I love when she says ":leap of faith" because its kind of referencing over the moon from rent
I went to this Wicked broadway workshop in New York and they said her face, her neck, her hands up to her wrists and then for her arms there's a sheer fabric
totally just noticed that!!
Idina made Green a fashion statment
DAS MY GIRL I LOVE IDENE
Haha, that's so funny how she can give such a good interview during makeup. lol Whenever I am getting stuff caked on my face for a show, I get all fidgety and uncivil. haha She is such a professional.! And absolutely beautiful too! The only person who can pull of green so well.
