Before I conclude my time as a postdoc, I really hope to make CZcams videos that are tailored for the younger science community. These are basically what I would share if you find me as a postdoc in your lab. I hope my personal tips will provide some positivity, support, and encouragement to those who are on the journey of academic research.

Excellent demonstration about the topic. If I send my CV, can you please review it? Thank you
Hi Ahsan, I can take a quick look during the weekend, you can send it to phdcoffeetime@gmail.com. Please know that I have a full time job, so I might be slow replying these emails, but I am happy to give my quick comments privately. Good luck with Postdoc search!
How many pages so you suggest? Or there is no limit
Can u attach Word file
I have added Research paper -- Journal paper and Review paper
Case Study
Conference (Attended and Paper Presented
Book Chapter
Workshop (Attend)
Research Assistant (Experience)
Do I need anything else to apply for Post Doc. How do I show them my potentialities in research activity???
This looks like a good list, but be sure to prioritize the First Author publication before the coauthored publications. Conference you have Presented should be highlighted.
Check out this playlist I have created on the topic of Postdoc Application, hope I have made it easy for you to watch the relevant videos :)

i am looking for Postdoc positon now. Thank you very much. could you tell me the fonts in your template? it is beautiful.
It's "baskerville", so glad you noticed! I was obssessed with the choice of a "scholarly" font and I am embarrassed to share how much time I have spent selecting fonts!
@@PhDCoffeeTime Your choice is great! I love this font! Thanks for your reply again.
Thank you for this interesting video...i am lucky that i come across this channel.......
Please i wanna ask one question....Well , currently i am not appointed to any formal postdoc position but i am still active and productive for the Lab where i did my phd.....i mean i assist phd students.....i contribut to study design and i contribute also to manuscipt writing and submission....etc ......but i work with them only online because now i am in my country .....Should i add it in my cv ???and , if so, what should i put ????
It depends, if you are applying to jobs in the industry, only list relevant experience to that role.
Add "Professional experiences (as volunteer)" or "Volunteering experience" (vs "Professioinal experience" would mean you are paid for that role) to your CV: and put "Research Assistance" (or a title that you see fit).
Try to budget time that you can afford on volunteering in your past lab, as you might have much more rewarding roles waitinig for you (in terms of career and fanacial aspects). So, keep an open mind and speak to more PhD alumni on Linkedin.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Not in industry ...in academia.
Thank you for the tip ....Yep, I will do.
I really hope so!! 😀😀...thank you !!......Yep, I am going to apply for post doc jobs in other labs because till now there have been no open open post doc positions in this lab.....
Hi, Thank you so much.
Why CV does not need photo? Including a photo into the CV is unprofessional?
In academic job application (Postdoc, Assistant Professor, Lecturer) it is commonly agreed that we shouldn't put a photos on the CV.
However, if you are applying for an industry position in a European country (Germany, the Netherland...etc), than your Resume should have a photo.
Be careful though, US and UK Resume do not need a photo, and having a photo is seen as "unprofessional".
For CV, the general rule is to not have a photo.
@@PhDCoffeeTime Thanks so much.
i didnt know this before, thank you so much
Any website available to create a CV ? or only MS word ?
In my case I use MS word. Academic CV is still the more conservative style, so it's not essential to be too creative/colourful. Sometimes, a CV with fancy design is frown upon in academia.
Remember, your CV is built, not written. Publish early, attend conference, apply to scholarships/awards, join a competition!
Madam, plz share you cv if possible for reference
Hi Uma, feel free to pause the video and see the overall outline of the CV.
Remember, a CV is built by doing the work. So rather than focusing on how to write a CV exactly like mine, start working on your project, enriching the publication list, and applying to scholarships.
These sections of academic achievement should guide you how you could spend your time (as highlighted in this video). All the best!

You 1st author papers did not get published on those high-impacted journals and that's why you cannot get a decent faculty job.
Ouch! But you're absolutely right.
That's why for anyone who wants to a career in academia, focusing on getting high-quality data and spending time first thing in the morning to write are two most important things I would recommend investing energy on.
I created this channel hoping that more students can learn this early on and increase their chance of success.
