haha I noticed that too
I recently learned that people put the shells back in the carton because eggs start to smell in the trash if it’s not going to be taken out for a while. So if your trash is empty and new you don’t wanna put egg shells in there to sit until the bag is full cause they’ll stink
So keeping them in the fridge keeps them fresh until they’re ready to be taken outside
