    Way more better then the normal bench press. It has a much bigger ROM and you don't push just forward. It is more like with dumbbells but you don't need to put them in position

    As a newbie to the gym, the trainer asked me to do this bench press, then flat bench press(dumbbell) and decline bench press. 10reps×3set

      Do you do all of those in a row? How did you feel? That can be overwhelming for new gym goers. As long as appropriate rest times were given you should be ok.

    I really like this machine. I had a frozen shoulder some years ago and benching with other machines or barbells was killing the same shoulder. I don't know what it is about this one but it doesn't cause the same pain.

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před 5 měsíci +1

      We are glad that this is working for you! It could be that this is much safer and the handles were designed in an angle to help keep the shoulder tucked in and avoid any flaring out.

    This machine says the starting weight is 18.5lbs (it's printed on the machine label) Is that per side or for both combined? I'd guess combined but it doens't say. That's less than half a 45lb bar so easy to see why you can bench more plates with this.

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před měsícem

      Yes it is per side. We can also bench because of how stable this machine is compared to a barbell.

    How does the weight compare with the bars? For example, on a standard bench with a barbell, one plate on each side is a 135 lb bench press. How much would it be for this machine with one plate on each side?

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před měsícem +1

      I can do 13-15 reps with two plates on this machine but I can only do 5-8 reps with two plates on the bar. I'm guessing this could feel like 95-105 with two plates on this machine. The starting weight is 18 lbs plus 90 (plate each side) is 108. This machine is also a lot more stable which helps us push a lot more weight here versus a regular bar.

    • @jelkk0349
      @jelkk0349 Před měsícem

      It’s a lot easier than barbell bench/dumbells as the machine includes a type 2 lever that assists a lot. It’s relatively easy to estimate if someone measures from the pivot point at the back of the machine to the where the weights are loaded up and from the pivot point to where the handles are you can just pop the numbers into a ‘type 2 fulcrum lever calculator’ (Google) and it will tell you.

    How does this machine compare to the SEATED Hammer Strength
    Plate-Loaded Iso-Lateral Bench Press?

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před 4 měsíci +2

      The seated version can be easier on the shoulder because the effects of gravity are less intense. Most people we have trainer say that they feel more on the chest doing the seated version but the ones that do the bench version say they get stronger doing that version. I personally can do 3 plates on each side on the seated version but I can't do that same weight on the bench version. Based on what we have experiences and seen if you want more strength the bench is better but if you want to be safer and get longer mechanical tension (more of a building muscle/body builder standpoint), do the seated version.

    Is it normal that i usually bench 90kg on a normal barbell bench with 35kg on each side, but today when i tried out the machine 35kg was unmovable and i had to put it down to 30kg to move it with the same intensity?

    • @visaonoturna6365
      @visaonoturna6365 Před 2 měsíci +3

      thats weird, because i think this machine makes it easier to lift more weight. On a barbell bench i usually do 90-95 kg for 12-10 reps with no problems and in this type of machine i can do 12-10 reps with 100 kg and without resting as much as i do with the barbell bench.

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes that is unusual to do more on regular bench than this machine. Just how @visaonoturna6365 said it should be easier. There is a factor that maybe because it is a new machine position could have been a little off and because you start from the bottom and not the top position could have thrown you off as well. Let us know if it still keeps happening.

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před 4 měsíci

      I don't max but I can do 235 for 5 on a regular bench, 100 lbs for 10 with dumbbells, and two plates and a 35 on this machine for 6-8 reps.

    What is 3 plates on this transfer to on Bench Press?

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před rokem +5

      3 plates on here would be 306 (135 each side plus 18 pounds per arm (handle)) and the regular bench would be 315. This feels easier and better on the shoulders. I can bench two plates on regular bench for 5 reps and about 8 reps here with two plates and a 25 on each side. This will definitely help with your bench because it helps your body get used to higher tension with heavier loads while working on your form and developing a strong base.

    • @doublegswellness7341

    What about the triceps?
    Does it work them as well as the classic bench press?

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes it does. The closer your arms are towards each other (less shoulder abduction or elbows not flaring out) the more the triceps will be involved. In presses the more abduction you go into the less the tricep will work. I would say this would get the triceps better than a regular bench press but not more than a close grip press.

    Why can I handle more weight on this than on the standard barbell bench press?

    • @doublegswellness7341
      @doublegswellness7341  Před 9 měsíci +2

      The bar it self is 45 pounds which is heavier than these handles, you are in a fixed position that puts the shoulder in a tighter position with a regular bench press, and the machine creates more stability for you compared to a regular bench press. We hope this helps!

      This is much safer and handles are set at a small angle to help protect the shoulders from the fixed position of a regular bench press. Ideally you can load up more weight on here if you are by yourself. I do both all the time.
