I have never heard of Guyanese Canada Day cook out. I lived in Canada for 57 years and this is the first. It is very disrespectful to celebrate Canada Day with another Country. I lived in Niagara Falls area and thousand of Canadians come up here to celebrate Canada Day, but I usually spend mine with all my siblings and their family at my cottage and we have a big Canada Day celebrations with fireworks etc. we are all Canadians and do not go out of Canada on Canada Day. It is very special to us and we would never disrespect our Country by calling it Guyanese- Canada Day. If you do want to celebrate Guyanese Independence Day or Republic Day in Guyana there are some Guyanese that do come together and do that by themselves like I guess they would do in England , USA and other countries. I left Guyana as a teenager and I have forgotten all those things because I left before Guyana received its Republic Day. It was BG when I left.
It's simple English, Proud Guyanese celebrating Canada day. If you forget your roots, do what you want Noone cares. Give me your address we will get you some real Guyanese sugar cake made with real Guyanese coconut, not wanab Canadian kind.😢😢
