Justlying Henin "packed an enormous punch with a slight frame" because she was on performance enhancers. She also Finally admitted what millions of viewers could see: That she cheated against Serene in that infamous French Open match. I'd rather hear "screaming" in a match than see brazen cheating! Btw, Serena had a proven better backhand than Justine. Serena officially hit more backhand winners than the alleged back-hand "specialist," Justlying Henin.

meh, this year Serena was her own problem, she got cocky after winning Miami and thought that she could show up and win any tournament and basically said as much in press. Meanwhile, Rodriguez had Justine going through intense trainings after she lost to Serena in Miami. The trainings were so intense that she was crying during them. So Justine's success against Serena is partly an increase in her level and a descrease in Serena's training.

Serena has always dominated with very simple strokes, simple strategy, nothing fancy tennis-wise, just a solid power game. But Justine....she had all the fancy. Female Federer. And yet more magical to watch than Fed imo because she did it with SUCH a small frame. Without question, the most impressive women's player i've ever witnessed, pound-for-pound (or kg-for-kg).

Barty, Henin, Mauresmo, Novotna, Navratilova, Mandlikova, Goolagong, King etc.
    Beautifully gifted natural players.
Henin's backhand, like Barty's slice, often drew gasps of awe from the crowd.
Henin v Williams was a *real* rivalry, unlike the so called "rivalry" between Williams and the one dimensional Sharapova.
Although a lot of people call Henin a "clay court specialist," she was *so* much more than that.
An all court player, she was, like Mauresmo able to adapt her game to grass and their 2006 Wimbledon Final was like "throwback" tennis, a delight to watch and I didn't know who to root for.
Such a pity she never actually won at Wimbledon.

@@regulusarcturus Of course, considering the longevity of Serena's career and the numerous titles she amassed, no one can deny that Serena is the greatest female tennis player of all time. Justine's career was much shorter, hampered by injuries, illness and motivational issues. But despite her small stature, she was able, thanks to her unparalleled technique, to rival more powerful players like the Williams sisters. In tennis literature, Justine Henin is often cited among the ten greatest female tennis players of all time. All it takes is an objective view to look at things. Serena's the greatest, but Justine's refined tennis makes her one of the greatest as well and is much more fun to watch than Serena's power tennis.

Regulus Arcturus I know I love the “per-kg basis” note as if at the end of the day extracting the most power out of your body is what determines who’s subjectively and objectively the greatest. It is very impressive the style of game that Justine used to achieve great wins, but it does not place her above someone else who was taller, faster, or stronger who won more titles just because they had greater advantages. I still think she doped, her retiring as number one in the world on the eve of the French while heading into her best major and what many consider her “home” major having grown up not far in Brussels, just always rubbed me the wrong way. She gives me very strong Lance a Armstrong vibes.

well Serena came back from 0-6 in the Miami final that year to take the title. But yes in the final 3 slams of the year, Henin was at her career best and Serena was overweight and had no answers physically or tactically. I would put an asterisk that this Wimbledon win was a fluke given Serena had a tear in her calf AND a thumb injury where she had to hit one handed backhands and slice which are not her normal shots. Plus Henin choked in Wimbledon semis as, she herself admitted, she was afraid to face Venus in the finals. Henin never proved to be an all court player as she failed to win Wimbledon even once; Serena winning 7 times at Wimbledon

Justine is among the most beautiful female players I've seen: a combination of grace and power. A little like Federer - although her serve is very different. I remember being morose when she retired; her retirement seemed to me a little premature, though I'm sure she had sound reasons.

Objectively, no one can deny that Justine was technically one of the most talented players ever. Serena's the greatest, based on all the titles she won, but watching Justine was a feast for the eyes. All those comments about Justine cheating and being coached are stupid considering Serena herself was involved in numerous on-court controversies, including coaching, threatening lineswomen, smashing rackets, behaving ungraciously in press conferences...

Serena is not a cheat . she has never used the on court coaching during the WTA matches when its allowed cos she wants to win on her own.
When Patrick was giving instructions, Serena cannot control what he does nor did she condone it.
Henin is an out and out cheater full stop. How many times did we see Carlos give her instructions in this match?

@@olaraay Let me refresh your memory. At the 2018 US Open, Serena got a warning for receiving coaching, resulting in a code violation. She smashed her racket, resulting in a second violation and hence a point penalty. Serena then accused the umpire of being a thief, leading to a third violation. Yeah, Serena is a tennis role model. By the way, there's a difference between coaching a player and encouraging a player, which every coach does.

Justine was a cheat; putting her hand up at the French Open and then denying it, causing Serena to lose her first serve. Serena has never done anything of the sort where she has actively cheated a player. Her character can be questioned in other ways though. However I’m glad when it came to the integrity of the sport, karma did it’s work. Justine never surpassed seven slams and never win Wimbledon and Serena totally eclipsed her. The end.
