Martina DaSilva is such a master of the craft to be so young, amazing, simply amazing.
Wonderful treatment of the Hoagy Carmichael/Johnny Mercer standard. Bravo Martina!
This always brings me HOME! The place there, where I stay!!! ❤🎶💫🎷👍
voice,arrangement and piano superb.
I love seeing Benny bennack in more of a background role, it’s so cool to see him there when I’m used to him being in the spotlight!
She has some crazy crazy technique, wow
Just terrific kids. Just absolutely terrific. (From a retired film/TV actor and former studio musician. Singer, trombone songwriter and composer....)
Martina’s voice is like a silken wave coming out of a golden trumpet. Fresh, beautiful, sweet, delightful.
Martina does this great Hoagy Carmichael/Mitchell Parish standard full justice.
Martina's rendition of this classic is phenomenal. The Band is fantastic you guys should record a bunch of these kinds of standards (American Song book?). Great sound engineering too!!! It should have 1000x the views.
From Southampton, UK..............superlative real music, what a great voice, great guys in the band and a REAL piano...treat.
Wonderful version of this classic. What a talent Martina is.
I'm begging this band to do an arrangement of Here's that Rainy Day- with, of course, a great vocal.
Superb rendition of the Hoagy Carmichael/Johnny Mercer evergreen standard. Certainly the best version I've heard by a female vocalist.
Martina has such a breathy voice! Just PERFECT for this kind of music! Band is spot on!
Bravo Martina!
She sings every individual note so sweet
Utterly superb. This lady is the real deal, thank you so much for such wonderful entertainment.
I want the whole world to appreciate this kind of music. To let them know what music really is!
EDansxD, it's always nice to know that there are younger people who love this stuff, too.
Unfortunately there's an enormous number of people who don't want to open their hearts or minds to anything they don't understand. Or perhaps, they just don't have the emotions to make a connection with some types of music. But we know how lucky we are, that we can!
@@aybee63 I'm just glad that even at this times where the majority likes shitty music there are still people out there who continues to make old-style music and choose not to join the other group so people like us could enjoy :D
Wonderful voice.
The pianist knows the art of accompany
Wow this is absolutely beautiful! I have watched it several times and it brings a tear of joy to my eyes every time. The perfect arrangement, the expert musicians and Martina's vocals (and eyes!) It just does not get any better than this! Thanks so much!!
Gorgeous!
That muted trumpet and piano solo is absolutely gorgeous because it has magnificent storytelling all the way through! 🎙🎺🎷🎹🥁
Steven, We The People Dig This Band
that smile at the end says it all ...
So many legends in one video...
Lovely, sensitive, and wonderful!
Wow! This is like the Shirley Horn big band stuff. This singer reminds me of so many of my favorites.
@Trogular 10,000 - Johnny Mandel is one of my favorite orchestrators of all time. His work with Shirley Horn is timeless and a big inspiration to me.
A touch of operatic technique. Liked it a lot.
Love this song growing I played this over an over.
ABSOLUTE MUSICAL TREASURE !!!
HIGTHEST SOUND QUALITY !!!
I CAN'T KEEP MY TEARS !!! 😂💖😂
I wish that Martina could recapture her sound from this earlier period in her career. I adore her relaxed voicing here.
Gorgeous rendition of a gorgeous song by a gorgeous lady.

This Orchestra and singer are absolutely Crazy Awesome !! An intimate musical encounter with the Lady Bugs at INC.New Brunswick.NJ one Wednesday evening lead me to discover the lovely and super talented Martina .❤️
The voice of an Angel!
¡Que gusto que gente joven interprete un clásico de ayer!, indudablemente que la buena música perdurará.

I somehow forgot the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Dakari Jamari i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Dakari Jamari It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D

Wow, wow, wow! What an amazing rendition.
@@StevenFeifke Steven such a wonderful interpretation of Johnny Mercers lyrics and the melody of Hoagy Carmichael. The arrangement, musicianship and Martinas lovely voice make this such an enjoyable experience. Stardust is one of my favourite songs.
Linda interpretação dessa cantora nessa maravilhosa e inesquecível, canção.,🙋🇧🇷🇱🇷👋👍
🧡
Very well. Bravissimo. Thank you for the music, my friends!🎵🎶🎵🙏
I really enjoy this arrangement. It is very difficult to sing
Kudos to Martina and the great musicians in the band! Outstanding job, well done and thanks.
holy shit
Show!!! Ficou muito lindo.
yes i love and understand this way
Ran this for the first time yesterday with my band. We did great but not quite as fantastic as this. We also tried, I'm just a shy guy. Wow the sax's really struggled with it so much work required.
Martina Fanttástica.
Отличноооооооооооооооо
This is beyond amazing!! Why isn’t it on Spotify? :(
thanks so much @alrdye! It will be up on spotify next year. In the meantime, we have a new single coming out on Nov 13 which will be on Spotify.
Must make a correction! I credited Johnny Mercer as the lyricist. It was of course Mitchell Parish! My apologies.
I love watching Martina...and listening to her too, of course.
Phenomenal! As one pianist to another, great job, and what a marvelous singer!
I am hoping to get a new trumpet
Mr. Steven Feifke , This beautiful singer is of Brazilian origin ? Thanks for the video.
Ildeu Raimundo DA SILVA.
Greetings from Brazil.
Yes, she is. The fantastic Martina DaSilva - I recommend checking out her solo projects as well. Thank you for listening, Ildeu!
Born and raised in New York City, American mother, Brazilian father, fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, which she sings wonderfully on other CZcams channels.
She sings like trombone
Beautiful lyrics by MITCHELL PARISH. Please give credit where credit is due
> Name is Lawrence PARISH
Hmmmmmm wonder why so angry about that...
The song will go down in the archives as a Jazz Standard -- what better legacy could someone have than that? A name is just a name. Take a listen and relaaaaax, Larry. It's all about the music, anyways. Ego just muddies it all up.
Hi Lawrence, I fixed this many years ago when you first posted but just noticed I forgot to respond. Thank you for alerting me to the fact I had forgotten to credit Mitchell. The lyrics are incredibly beautiful and this song (and many others) would not be the same without them.
Is it me, or did that thumbnail look like an after photo of Flo from Progressive?
Nice arrangement!
Vocally a little weak. Phrasing and accuracy not great.
Old school in the best sense of the word.
Thank you!
