I don't watch much of his tech channel anymore. But being at the top of one's game in two disciplines is quite amazing. I have increased respect for him.
He’s the coolest representative for the sport there is. Any time anyone asked what ultimate frisbee is or how it’s played I show them marques’s highlights. It validates the sport for me when people say it’s not a real sport or it doesn’t take athleticism.
Running, jumping, diving, hand-eye coordination, what's not sporty or athletic about this sport? I honestly don't get people like that. The essence of a sport should be the competition right?

@@tomevers6670 that is nonsense. There is nothing technically wrong with ultimate that makes it an inferior sport to soccer or basketball. If anything it’s better because sport politics is not an issue and the fans still carry a positive community spirit that is lost among fans of the other big professional sports teams of other sports.
because that is what he is. he is very well spoken, well dressed without tattoo or any piercing or any other standout. he has one of the biggest channels in one of the most commercial driven markets and he has no drama attached to him. he is serious but not boring he is like the black matt damon. you might not love him but for sure you cannot hate him also he knows how to talk so that his interview partners look great on youtube and this is a precious gift
Marques is by far my biggest role model. As a black 18 yr old who works in retail selling phones as well as playing ultimate; everything he does just resonates so strongly with me. It just motivates me so much seeing someone who looks so much like me achieving everything I want to achieve
As a youth ultimate player, getting to see someone that influential playing a sport I’ve grown up playing was awesome, and he was really nice when I met him at a game

Not only a tech expert who's a jock, but he breaks a lot of negative stereotypes associated with black men and inspires other black men who never thought about passions beyond the predictable ones

He demonstrates the possibilities of merging technology with entertainment/sport at the highest levels. No one is taking away from other black trailblazers who serve as role models, but it is undeniable that Marques is in a class of his own.

This was pretty dope. Honestly knew about him from ultimate before I even knew about his channel. I love that he’s still actively committed to, and promotes our sport it despite all the fame and money he has from youtube.
It's just a beautiful thing when someone that is decent, and starts from nothing eventually succeeds. You can just witness how MKBHD enjoys what he is doing. I've never met him, probably never will, I'm an older generation guy, but I just love seeing someone succeed in life.

His love for making videos about tech and his passion about creating the best video he can, give me motivation to be my best self every day & to go to the fullest with whatever it is that I'm doing. Good to learn another side of Marques's life. I am in a little Olympic fever now after watching Nathan won the gold. As an older person, I am so proud we have many multi-talented young people. It is also super fun to watch videos when they were little. Marques is actually more a pioneer in this new internet based media age, which it both easier and harder. I hope Marques continue to try new things and he has so much possibilities ahead of him.
Many people hate him for his biased contents but he is an inspiration for all those budding youtubers out there. This guy at this age has done something plenty of others couldn't do even though being his seniors, and that's a success.

I'm from Malaysia and I used to play this sport so much in secondary school. The only difference was we had to play on a concrete floor because the rugby team was hogging the fields all day 24/7. Interesting how an "unpopular" sport traversed all the way to the other side of the globe. I'm also glad the sport has an unofficial ambassador through Mr. Brownlee, a youtube creator whom I regularly watch and is very popular on the platform! I hope ultimate frisbee get a lot more popular, have a lot more people playing it and someday even see this sport reach its height and see it on the Olympics!
i played Ultimate at a (relatively) high level in middle and high school and can honestly say its the only sport where iv lost and still enjoyed myself. I totally get why it must feel so important for him to keep playing and why such a draw for him is the passion held in the community. What a dope dude.
If there was a single CZcamsr I'd want to hang with for an hour just to pick their brain, it'd be MKBHD. Dude's brilliant and has an unwavering level of dedication. Conversations with people like him are one in a million, truly. I don't think most millionaires or billionaires are even half as steadfast.
