I am happy you liked them, the trick is finding the velvet...even the thrift shops didn't have any old clothes with it. But here is Texas I guess there are not a lot of people wearing it. lol

I finally tried it. Only works on synthetic fabric. Did in deep scarlet polyester velvet...turned out GORGEOUS! Thank you!! :-)

I love fibre arts and anything I can up-cycle I will do. That why that recycled sari yarn I posted on my FB wall is so exciting to me. The rich colors and the fact that its silk and destined for the bin makes it even more appealing to me. I can't wait to post my project when I am finished.

Beautiful roses.i have watched videos where people do that with organza . I have a cricut die cutting machine and make flowers out of paper .Some day when I get the nerve I'll make a video showing how I make them.

What a great idea! Now I know what to do with my fabric velveteen scraps. I love how you sewed them instead of the hot glue. I do like that better. It kinda reminds me of the flowers that Helen Gibb demonstrated on the Carol Duvall show. I love those.

Hi and thank you for the great tutorial. I really like the way the roses came out. I must try this but also add a lil rose fragrance to them.

it' helps me keep from burning out on 1 craft or another. I cut hair and sew and make cakes. But I am so bored with all three...and I finally had to say out loud to everyone " I am done, I don't want to cut, sew or bake anymore!" lol.... now of course for my immediate family I do on occasion, but that is far and few in between. thank goodness.

Thanks Ashley, I did purchase red and dusty rose at Hobby lobby. Our JoAnn's had only the stretchy kind. I guess South Texas isn't a velvet kind of place. lol I found some online, and will get a wider amount of choices.

try thrift stores for old velvet clothing or cushion covers if having trouble finding suitable new material.

    Love the Roses.
Do you have a Jo Ann's Fabric or Hobby Lobby Near you.
Jo Ann's has velvet in a good number of colors most of the time.
Oh, in case you didn't know, many Jo Ann's are big craft stores.
    Just a thought to help.

What kind of velvet are you using? I tried silk velvet and this didn't work for me. Thanks so much for your video! :)

Benne Gezeritt it's rayon velvet....silk velvet won't work.

Alamo Candelaria I'm still having trouble with this one. So sad! Maybe my heat gun isn't getting hot enough? Only 500 degrees fahrenheit. May I ask what your embossing tool's maximum heat is? Even tried with a metal pan underneath and the fabric won't budge.
