    As everybody has pointed out the rug is a horse saddle bag made by one of the nomadic tribes in the Middle East (i.e. Persian, Kurdish, Bakhtiari, Baluch, etc.) for their own use, rather than for export. It is, indeed "something good!" You got a real bargain as they sell for very good money!

    That woven “rug” is either Turkish or Persian judging by its patterns. It is not a saddle bag since the middle bit with knots, in between the pockets, is way to narrow to fit on the back of a horse or donkey. This particular one is used as a shoulder bag, you swing one side to your front, the other side to your back. People used to carry apples etc. whatever they collected from their lands in these.

    You can use a jewelry loop to discern if a picture is a print. If you see small dots on the picture, like comic strip dots, then you have a print on you hands. 👍😎

    At 11:31 you found some Asian framed items. I couldn’t really tell but they looked like the silk calendar tops our wholesale Pearl salesmen would give us when we bought their products. We always framed the top half of the calendars. They were so beautiful-

    If you want to check if it's a print you can use a jewelers lupe. It will show the dot matrix of a print.

    Over here in UK, if they find out your turning then round for profit, they will not only ban you, but, also, phone round every goodwill/charity/ secondhand shop within a 20 mile radius (three biggish towns for me) and get you barred from them too

He has been in the field for 35 yrs as an electrician/mechanic, & Engineer, on the Freight side. He knows a lot about trains, & yes, he is asked all the questions!! I forgot about that. Thanks for helping me clear this up...wow, I would get in so much trouble!!

      Where does the name "foamers" come from??

    • @kscheuerman5378
      @kscheuerman5378 Před 3 lety

      @@PntrGrl It is a term used by people in the RR business to refer to railfans or train geeks. It is because they get so excited when they see or "spot" a train or get a picture of one to document or record their find!! It's like they foam at the mouth, they are so thrilled. If you look up the term you may be able to find a skit, my husband showed to me, there. Foamers are often trespassing when going into the train yard or on the tracks. It is extremely unsafe & must be told to leave & they often return.

    I work for Goodwill. We have people that take one shoe & leave one. Then they come back & buy the "two" shoes when the big sale happens. Maybe people take the kids to the teapots so they can come back & buy the teapot when it hits the sale.
