I've been to both parks a couple of times now. Tokyo Disneyland just does the whole Magic Kingdom thing so perfectly - better than the US in my opinion. And with really amazing rides like Hunny Hunt! But then DisneySea is so unique and Journey is one of my favourite rides of all time. There's only one solution - GO TO BOTH!

    Hi All
We visited both one week after each other. Both visits were on a Tuesday. I took my 13 and 16 year old daughters. Was in middle of January. Our experience was that DisneySea appeared to have longer wait times (like over 90-100 mins). Whereas Disneyland was more like 50-60. Even rain did not dampen the crowds at DisneySea. I reckon if your kids have never been to Disneyland then go there. The Disney experience there is greater in my opinion and my kids agreed. For example we did not even know the main DisneySea characters. The Disneyland day parade is also better as you are up close with the characters versus DisneySea where they are on the water. Also, the rides at DisneySea are scarier so keep that in mind if your kids don’t lake sudden drops like on splash mountain. I loved both but if it was just me I would go DisneySea, but with kids I’d go Disneyland.

English is not my first language but I can speak it and I was lucky that in Paris many people speak it so it went pretty straightforward (and I can also understand a little bit of French) but Japanese is so different so I'm worried my kids can't understand a thing

Hi Jorge! I share your pain because i don’t speak Japanese as well and unfortunately, everything Japan’s parks are Japanese only.
If you have been to other disneyland parks, then tokyo disneyland actually shares a lot of the same rides with the other parks so you probably already know what’s going on.
The only thing is disneysea because it is the only one of its kind in the world. We still had a great time because the rides were still fun and the food inside was great. There were a few shows and musicals that had little text and only music so those were easy to enjoy as well.

You would still want to get there early because there will always be lines, some starting as early as 2 hours before the park opens and once they have reached max capacity, you won't be allowed to enter until afternoon when some people leave.
I would head to one of the parks and arrive at 7 or 7.30. Go into that park, hang around until around noon then try to enter the other park. Hope this helps!
