I actually asked him in an AMA on reddit on what he would do if he was so poor that he couldn't afford health insurance. He said he would ask his family and friends for help. You can search it up, it's his AMA on r/politics from 2017. It's clear that he never got out of this rich privilege bubble since his parents had lucrative jobs, was able to go to private Jewish school, and then Harvard. I highly doubt he ever worked in retail or any minimum wage job. He's extremely out of touch.

So he just didn't answer, and maybe trolled you. Remember: he's famous and nobody knows you.

@@mgg7756 Nah, that's a real answer. And he proves that socialism within familial and social structures, especially of the rich, by the rich, for the rich, is acceptable, while that mediated by governmental powers is not acceptable. And this proves he is a weak-minded hypocrite who is probably just trying to say the right thing to get right-wing corporate and deep-money sponsorship.
Who cares about his fame? He's a clown and he parades his clownish self around for a living, and he believes he's doing some kind of transcendent or intellectual good in the world with his talks and argumentative tone. He's definitely out of touch, as are most famous people. Most famous people try to talk to the issues faced by the majority of people in America and the globe and more often than not completely miss the mark because they've never experienced what they try to talk about or they come off as completely insincere because they're oftentimes just trying to superficially connect with their audiences in a way that boosts their personal fame and ostensibly their riches as well.

Glad I found your channel. And yes, address the ideas not attack the person.

Man, I've been talking about English Prime since 2009 and you're the only other person besides the person I heard talk about it even mention it (I heard it from Skinny Puppy drummer Justin Gabriel-Bennett)

I really don't think we're in any position to start making any judgements on the health of their marriage. Relationships can develop habits and such that you can only truly understand if you're participating in the relationship. I'm condemned for practices I have with my girlfriend that we literally agreed upon, because people see fit to criticise based on a superficial, almost totally ignorant standpoint. Psychoanalysis isn't a very meaningful tactic either, especially given the previous point.

Good to hear you talk about E-Prime again. (The English language nerd and writer in me get excited. Almost no-one talks about it.) I once wrote only in E-Prime for several months and it was an interesting experience. I think it's worth trying to speak and think in E-Prime. Not only E-Prime all the time, though - too hard. 😆
I think this is a really good idea.

The thing I like about Ben Shapiro is his intelectual honesty. And also he is highly intelligence.

Wow I actually agree with Ben Shapiro on something. I'm single but I very much think that sharing the same values is essential and much more important than shared interests.

Really good video. I find i'm able to accept my mistakes and work on improving much better since not hating myself so much. I see my mistakes as not who I am but things I did for one reason or another.
Edit: I disagree with you overanalyzing shapiro's marriage. We don't know what goes on there and that story proves nothing.

Yes, I think that we should spend more time talking about *our* ideas. I couldn't agree more. I look forward to you sharing more.

To me the most disturbing part of Ben's story is that his wife wasn't even there to see how he got hurt and his immediate reaction. That can be very funny. She wasn't laughing thinking about this comic scene of Ben clumsily smashing into a coffee table or something. All she was laughing about was the knowledge of Ben's pain.

Positive about Ben Shapiro: he can act like a calm and competent person who talks fast and clear very well.

I was just talking to my girlfriend how I'm getting sick of the "left tube" constantly making videos about Peterson and Shapiro. While I will admit that it is satisfying to watch videos where this people get "destroyed", I also think there is so much more topics and issues that people could talk about, and stop giving exposur to the likes of Shapiro, they get enough exposur on their own and I think we have all seen enough Shapiro videos to know that his views on most issues are idiotic. I would love to see more videos about the enviroment, green energy etc. there is so much more "leftist" topics that are a lot more beneficial to our wellbeing, then debunking some conservatives crapy arguments. Sorry, I went on a bit of a rant here. What I wanted to say was, I subsribed in hopes of seeing less Shapiro videos and more videos on ideas how we can make things better.

Good comment. Agree. We need to see more philosophy and ideas and give less PR to morons.

    • @facesizeburger7690
      @facesizeburger7690 Před 4 lety +1

I totally feel you though I don't personally think that most of Ben's views are idiotic nor are they not. I try to see them as a reflection of his own ideology, how it is similar AND different to my own, and then try to identify how this ideology affects/leads to the different kinds of comments, replies, and titles of videos on Ben. And that's on the case of Ben, but I try to do that with everyone and everything, including myself.
Or in simpler terms, practicing healthy skepticism.
I think, in lieu of purposefully decreasing the amount of exposure we give to the likes of Ben, JP, or anyone who we dislike or disagree with, perhaps it would actually be more helpful for the community if we contribute to the exposure but from an oppositional stance.
Otherwise, too often Ben's, JP's, or any mainstream viewpoints' discussions/debates lose their intellectual value and just become debate-arena-shows, often titled with "who destroys who", "who roasted who", and etc. And ppl just go in the arena, turn off their minds, cheer for their favorite gladiator without any intentions whatsoever to sympathize with the "adversaries", finish their experience and chime in the polarizing chaos.
Even after all these centuries, humans finding conflict entertaining is probably something that will never change.
...CZcams is one of if not the greatest modern cyber-Colosseum.
Not sure about Ben, but as much as the left might disagree a lot with JP(as well as the right), to my knowledge, JP holds great sympathy for individuals and for this generation.
Thus I would like to think that these arena-like videos made for JP may actually bring a certain amount of disappointments to the man himself.
This is because ppl enter an arena, not in search of truth, but in search of a champion, an ideology.
...and that's how you make "who destroy who" videos!
