Kudos for RECORDING this! Any time I go to paint correct a car, I get pumped and then 10 minutes into it, I'm ready for lunch. Megs 100 is really awesome even if you just use it by itself!
I'm trying to figure why most of these ppl are obsessed with his weight, leave this man alone let him do his thing,it's a car channel not a weight and judge channel just enjoy the video smh
Because what we judge in others we reject in ourselves. Eg. They have or have had a problem with their weight or the way they look. Makes them feel better to tear him apart.
Don't wet sand before you try this. You definitely used the wrong pad with that compound. Try a orange pad (Lake Country) with Meguiar's M105 Ultra cut compound and finish with m205 with a blue pad. You will get much better results. Keep up the good work.
Great video... You want to use an orange foam pad or a microfiber cutting pad for the initial cut. Then work towards a red pad for polishing. Use a black pad to apply the sealant or wax. The different pad colors signify how rough they are, kind of like grit on sandpaper. For the headlights use an orange pad and apply Metal polish onto the DA and you will see a much better result. You can use either Mother's or Turtle Wax so the investment is nominal. Then apply either 303 or Chemical Guys Jet Seal on the headlights to protect them otherwise they will haze again in about a month, especially in Florida. I live here as well.... :) Then reapply the sealant every 3-4 months so they stay protected. Thanks and keep up the great content.
I've been working as car detailer for a year now and can give you some tips. Choice of pads: The coarser the polish the harder peds you've to take for a better result. But watch out: harder peds and coarse polish needs more water and is likely for making a mess(dry polish flies away from the pad) if you are using too much water or not enough water or too much polish. With harder pads you will be able to polish the scratches way better than with a soft pad. I also recommend you to go closer to the paint while polishing so that you can see bigger scratches and polish them more precisely. For your Mercedes I would advise to polish it with a coarse polish(300/1000) and a harder pad. Afterwards it would be the best to use an eccentric polishing machine for the finish. With the eccentric one you won't have any holograms on the paint. And use a finer(3000/3500) polish and a softer pad for the finish. Keep up the great work Greetings from Germany
So glad to see your subscriber #s climbing really well. Been with you a while, since the 3000GT vids... keep on doing what you're doing man. Good channel.
loving the videos dude keep up the good work, my car related wreching today did not go well so now I need new ignition leads for my Cooper S, I'm hoping tomorrows wrenching is a tad more succesful
Detailers are Gods in my eyes. Took your advice, tryin to wrench everyday 😂. My paint also felt like sand paper so I decided to try my hand at detailing. After 7 days, spent around 3-4 hours after work each day, I finished. Used a DA also with some maguiars and autoglym products. It’s not perfect or pro but I really am proud I stuck to it and finished. The paint is like butter now, still some marks but it’s my daily. Much better than before. Next up, full oil change. Thanks for the motivation, love the content.
Hey just wanted to say i love your channel. You should hit 100k very soon at this rate and then up and up from there. Love the content, its great to see a new face on youtube
This admires me because I want to buy a 2006 S class, plan to make a project that may take months but also make look good cosmetically where it looks clean from the lot except it runs well. I love this
I have the same car. Polished my last week. You need a rupes yellow pad with sonax perfect finish. That is the combination that works. This paint is very soft.
I don't usually comment, but im planning on clay baring my mb c230k this weekend and this video was super helpful in deciding whether its worth polishing and waxing it or not. Looks great Tavarish, thanks for the upload
ammonyc channel will teach you everything you need to know about paint correction oh and obsessed garage. You've done better than I ever could congratz on another great project and a video.
The amount of hate in the comments are crazy. I really enjoy your videos and the content, really fun to watch you go on with the cars, the quickfixes and the smart repairs. Keep up the great work you're doing and keep posting!
Hi Tavarish, love what your doing with this Merc! I only recentely stumbled upon you via recommended videos and have been hooked ever since! I wanted to buy a tshirt from your website but noticed you dont do crew neck tshirts? Will these become available anytime soon? Keep up the good work brother!
That Insulator wax that you breezed over is the greatest product! It's not cheap and you are correct it has to be warm or the consistency will be really weird. But that Insulator wax is something else! Your car will POP!!! Amazon has it on their website. Get some!
Good video man! A couple things. Try using a yellow or orange foam pad with Meguiar's 105 for initial cut. Then follow up with Meg's 205 on a black or white pad for polishing. You can find 105 and 205 around local shops or maybe you'll have to do Amazon. Also, the Nanoskin (AS-006) AutoScrub 6" Fine Grade Foam Pad makes for a GREAT claybar substitute. You can find it on Amazon like the polish. I was aprehensive until I tried it.. WOW IT'S SO NICE. On my second one now! SUPER fast and way easier than scrubbing with a clay ball that you can accidentally drop. You just put it on the Porter Cable like a polishing pad, wet the paint and BOOM, you're claying a car. Side note.. DON'T LEAVE IT IN THE GARAGE. I did with mine and the pad material got ruined by heat. It got all sticky and nasty. Again, love the vids and keep em up! I've got a couple early 2000's BMWs that I like to care for, so seeing you tackle these Benz's is great!
So glad you did this dude!👍 it needed it, I am not a professional but I have a lot of knowledge with this stuff, you did a great job but a few small tips, first NEVER use dish soap, it is just too harsh on the paint and puts more wear on it than you want.. And also use Meguiars or other well known products, try to avoid small name brands when it comes to polishes and waxes and really all your products..
You should throw some xzilon green when your done and have the wheels nano coated after that car cleaning will pretty much consist of rinsing the dirt off and walking away
If you change your products a little, it can look even better with little effort. Try the meguiars 3 step microfiber correction kit with microfiber pads and a true wetsand headlight kit.
I never even waxed or dried the car and I go to gas station car washes even with soft top convertibles, but after seeing this i'm gonna buy the stuff you used and try it before I attempt to sell any car.
Two little tips for the future (if you work on it again) an orange pad and a little less compound/polish would help you with that hard paint. But still, not bad for a first(ish) time!
Your using the right pad because of you use the pad that has like fur On it, it creates swirls. The one with the fur On it is use when you sand the car and then polish and when your done you use the spunch pad which gets rid of imperfections and swirls
Apply a little more pressure with your left arm. That's why they have a handle. Another thing is to go slower with a crosshatch pattern. It takes longer but it will take the swirls out. The polish will refine the swirls.
You did a good job! Should have maybe masked of the back cover, but depending on which polish you took shouldn't have too much problems with white residue.
Wash your car by rinsing first then with DAWN PLATINUM and WARM WATER, wash your car. Flatten claybar to your palm. Dip clay bar in warm sudsy water. Apply left and right then up and down. Finally RINSE! For drying use a soft alternative chamois type. I got from auto zone.
Thanks for sharing. Great to see the project coming along. But throughout the vid there were 2 things that kept screaming at me. Take some time and view Larry's channel (ammo) and Chrisfix (for the headlights). I know Larry would be over kill for what you're doing, but he's got good pointers for the hobbiest polisher. Chrisfix is just a regular guy who manages to do some great work for the true enthusiast (very much like you). He's got an awesome headlight vid to help restore your lights the proper way. Both channels require you to be patient for great results. Still a great vid though. Keep them coming!
Deboss Garage has a very few very good videos on paint and metal polishing that you should check out... The biggest thing he says is you should apply it to the pad and not to the disk directly. And you should also ad a .mist of water while polishing
Nice job, bud!! I've got an '05 SL500, NOT an AMG. But pretty much the same car. I polished her, then used a tinted detail wax over it. Came out really well with much less work. However, your way produced better results!! Bet your arms are aching from all that cleaning!!!!! I think you might want to rethink that manual trans conversion; I see lots of smoke on THAT horizon!! But it's YOUR car; do what you want. PS........SCREW DA HATERS!!!!!
Kudos for RECORDING this! Any time I go to paint correct a car, I get pumped and then 10 minutes into it, I'm ready for lunch. Megs 100 is really awesome even if you just use it by itself!
Definitely worth 8900 after that polish.
Seriously dude you have one of the best car channels without bullshit like vehicle vergins
Vehicle virgins is an arrogant douche
Don't say "grain of salt" in a car washing video. Winter memories still cut deep here in NJ.
It feels like 4 years when your car is being accosted by hail size salt balls.
Yes they brine everything now. Even the back roads. We own a Subaru so it basically rusted the day after we got it because of that garbage.
I'm trying to figure why most of these ppl are obsessed with his weight, leave this man alone let him do his thing,it's a car channel not a weight and judge channel just enjoy the video smh
jonblakk73ab Only Instagram fuckbois care about that stuff. Bunch of losers.

I concur
Bobby from MVT is bigger....
Who is better with cheap AMGS???? Tavarish or Hoovie????
Hoovie, 100 percent.
thats the hardest question in the world
NorthAmerican Auto To find out read Doug's column on autotrader.com/oversteer
Tavarish How about Doug DeMuros Not-So Cheap AMG vs yours?
Tyler is the Mercedes whisperer

wjfinch yep, and he used too much polish. Small amount of product and let the pad do the work.
cant belive he put wax on with a polisher. Orbital is way better.
That's what I like about you Mr T. You got the balls to just dive in and do something like that with no experience whatsoever. Mucho respect.

Thanks for finally doing those headlights 🙏
Looks so much better now that you have FINALLY cleaned it properly Tavarish . Kudos 👍
Subscribed a few videos ago, keep up the good work: car just keeps getting better & better !
Awesome video man, I love to see someone appreciate this car for what it is.
loving the videos dude keep up the good work, my car related wreching today did not go well so now I need new ignition leads for my Cooper S, I'm hoping tomorrows wrenching is a tad more succesful
Looks great Tavarish! Keep up the awesome content, excited to see what you end up getting into with the SL55. 👍🏼

loving the channel, i used to detail professionally and still enjoy bringing the paint back to life, great job.
I was hoping for an easy to follow polishing video, thanks tavarish
So happy those lights are finally cleaned
Good effort there! Not easy at all but looks so much better. Cant wait to see the bumper done and some nicer alloys.
Tavarish keep up the good (hard) work. You'll meet your goals and it will work out for you and the channel.
Hey just wanted to say i love your channel. You should hit 100k very soon at this rate and then up and up from there. Love the content, its great to see a new face on youtube

Just discovered your channel.. really enjoying the videos
Your transitions were flawless! didn't even notice them!
Looks very nice, T! Can't wait for the manual swap.
@tavarish don't forget to reseal your headlights with clear coat or headlight sealant before it refoggs. Awesome work
I have the same car. Polished my last week. You need a rupes yellow pad with sonax perfect finish. That is the combination that works. This paint is very soft.
Got to hand it to you mate. You work for your 'likes'. Well done.
Nice thing about MB. There's a great layer of clear coat to work with.
I don't usually comment, but im planning on clay baring my mb c230k this weekend and this video was super helpful in deciding whether its worth polishing and waxing it or not. Looks great Tavarish, thanks for the upload
Wow! Excellent job! You are giving me inspiration to clay and compound my S500.
Keep up the good work, like you Chanel. Its funn
Gr from Holland
“I don’t know what I’m doing” at least you are honest. Keep reaching for you dreams.
The best way I found to dry my car after washing it is a garden blower, it works also very well on the engine bay.
J. Badinter this or a dyson window vac
ammonyc channel will teach you everything you need to know about paint correction oh and obsessed garage. You've done better than I ever could congratz on another great project and a video.
shaggypeach Considering he mentioned both of them by their names, you can be sure he's aware of them. :)
👍 for having the power cable over your shoulder. So many folks mar their paint with a power cord...
The sl looks way better after the detail. I can only imagine how cool it'll be after the rims and manual swap.
Good job mate 😊
Your S-Class just looks amazing back there
Well done!!
btw you can use "Silane Guard" it helps to protect paint and really good sticks to scraches masking them, better than wax.
The amount of hate in the comments are crazy.
I really enjoy your videos and the content, really fun to watch you go on with the cars, the quickfixes and the smart repairs.
Keep up the great work you're doing and keep posting!
Can you do walk around, in-depth looks, and startup video of your S class benz?
very good work for a first time :)
Hey man I just found your channel and you are great don't listen to the haters you got a great attitude and I love your can do Spirit
Agree.
Polish the headlights, one hour of work will bring clean them up. It will change the whole look of the car.
Awesome! You could also use the heavier polishing compound and follow it with the McGuires. SHINE & SHEEN.
0:14 - TRUTH!
That Insulator wax that you breezed over is the greatest product! It's not cheap and you are correct it has to be warm or the consistency will be really weird. But that Insulator wax is something else! Your car will POP!!! Amazon has it on their website. Get some!
Dude took out the big gun, the insulator wax, that thing is magic on paint.

A year ago I polished my 18 year old car for the first time i know and it looks like new thanks to ammo nyc video's
"it's really really hot." Come to Saudi Arabia, where a 40c afternoon is considered cool. (Lol peak temperature last month was 58c)
Also I remembered this comment from Kent Bergsma: "There's nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes."
Just watch that AMMO DRIVE Clean guy! He had awesome tips.
Quickwax is really the way to go for claying. Its keeps tthe surface lubricated for a longer period of time, and you dont need as much.
Looking better. Between your channel and LegitStreetCars, I am planning on finding a E55 AMG for a daily driver.
Personally I use a pink pad for applying compound, the green I use for final polishing ! But still it looks good !
Different pad firmness is used for different products. Harder pads used for polishing were as softer pads used for the application of wax
Not gonna lie, from the angle of the camera @4:07 That S500 looks so damn clean and flush
Who wants to see a turbo Cayenne being DIY by him???
I never even waxed or dried the car and I go to gas station car washes even with soft top convertibles, but after seeing this i'm gonna buy the stuff you used and try it before I attempt to sell any car.
It's looking really good T. The OCD in me wants to see tire shine on them tires.
Omar Amaya the OCD in me wants the grill blacked out to match the body

i love your videos Tavarish. when is video 16 coming out?
He has a natural sunglasses holder in the middle of his head
Don't use dish soap on cars because it's not pH balanced.
Great content. Not only did I learn a lot, I now feel more comfortable with my man boob. SUBSCRIBE.
