Do you want blink 182 to continue as a three-piece or would you want Skiba to perform live with them still?
Bring Skiba in for a two guitar album or have him on the whole tour or have him just for a song
Anyway for him to be involved, especially if the relationship is still good between everybody...huge Alkaline Trio fan and his contribution to Blink grew on me :)

Most definitely. I don’t see why they can do a tour/album with all of them. They would probably sound even better, knowing Matt covers some of Tom’s deficiencies, and vice versa

@@ericshaw77083 you're crazy bro. Matt sounded GREAT!, on his songs. He didn't sound that great doing Tom's songs, but his register is very different than Tom's. Just like, it'd be funny to hear Tom try to sing Matt's songs

They secretly already do since the Enema's, they have a lot of multitracking recording that is missing on live, like they use prerecorded tracks but isn't the same as someone playing the extra guitars.

Wouldn't expect anything less from Matt but a classy response. It's pretty sad all the Blink fans who have treated him like sh!t while he was in the band. he did a great job. Obviously he knew Tom would be back sooner or later.
I didn’t particularly enjoy the music they made with Matt but I appreciate him taking the spot so the band didn’t completely disband also bear down
I agree. And I LOVE Tom so much but this all felt ignorant towards Matt imo. I hope he doesn’t feel that way but thankfully he’s talented and can move forward and yay for Blink to be back again!
@@montsergirl I am also a big fan of Alkaline Trio. He can now focus all of his energy on that, so it's good for both bands. Matt did as good of a job as anyone could do being thrust into the situation of being Tom's stand in.

I feel like matt is that good step parent who does there best to be there for us. While tom is that cool parent who comes back now and then just to leave us again with empty promises.

Matt contributed to two incredible Blink albums and I’ll be forever thankful to him for that. You’ll be missed Matt!

My best friend Josh was alkaline trios tour manager for a while. He sadly passed away about 10 years ago. It was surreal seeing them at the funeral. Great dudes. RIP Josh, miss ya brother.
I feel bad for Matt because he did a beautiful job when Tom left the band. I think he deserves Blink doing a tour with his band or at least a video (Blink 182 Ft. Matt) as a thank you.

I think the least blink could have done was take Alkaline Trio out on a major arena tour with them. I’m curious to see what they do about the last two albums live. Will Tom sing Matt’s parts or will we ever hear those songs live again?

Matt Skiba really deserves a ton of credit for saving Blink-182 by keeping them relevant over the past few years. Say what you want about "NINE," but "California" was WAY better than anyone expected, just full of classic SoCal bangers, I absolutely loved it and it's one of my favorite albums to date. He was great with them live too, I saw them in Jax and I'll take Matt's performance then over whatever the hell Tom was doing with his vocals near the end of the "Neighborhoods" era. DeLonge is an OG and it's good to have him back, but I really wish they would of continued as a four-piece so it would be less awkward playing songs from the last two records (plus two guitars would be rad). I hope the "California" era isn't ever forgotten.

Last 2 albums were balls who’s kidding who. Over-produced garbage, barely classic SoCal. I’m not trying to be all pretentious either, I actually liked Neighbourhoods. But the songwriting without Tom is just so basic, then add in John Feldmann producing and it’s just.. no.

skiba had a good paycheck from blink, made a kick ass album with mark and travis. Helped kept blink relevant by recently touring under the name, and now he can go back to focus on his own band now. no one lost here❤️

I was very, very skeptical about a Blink album without Tom, but I truly enjoyed "California" and I'm glad Matt stepped in and saved the day. A true class act from beginning to end.

Skiba did an amazing job in Blink 182..but having Tom come back and the old lineup making new music again is just amazing!

Yeah, I just hope that they continue expanding on the sound they rediscovered in "Edging." I hated Neighborhoods and I never followed Tom in AVA, it is not my style whatsoever. I don't need exact replicas of their earlier records to be happy, but would love less AVA-style influence in their next album.

Skiba sacrificed his own band and name by being in Blink, as a long time Alkaline Trio fan I don't look at Skiba the same at all, it started back when he did Heavens which was a cool lil side project, but then he did Matt Skiba and the SeKrets which was with Wes Borland, Alkaline albums seemed to be regurgitated chord structures with similar lyrics My shame is true was good for a couple dimes but that's about it... Hope he starts writing again

I'll never forget how nice Matt was signing autographs at the warped tour back in the day. The line was so long and he just came out before he even played to hang out with fans and a huge line just formed out of nowhere and he stayed forever saying Hi and signing concert tickets. Nice guy.

I refused to listen to the two albums without Tom because i couldnt bring myself to accept the change.
But i've started listening to them and there's some really awesome songs on them. Especially No Heart To Speak Of. Matt really did some great stuff in Blink.
Funfact: Tom Delonge full name is Thomas Matthew Delonge, while Matt Skiba full name is Matthew Thomas Skiba.
Bottom line is he made two great albums with Blink, toured the world and kept Blink relevant.

I still think it's pretty damn ignorant of Mark and Travis for remaining publicly silent in regards to Skiba's departure.
As mentioned in this video, Skiba was unaware of what was going on with the band as recently as July, and by the sound of Skiba's response to Tom coming back, something tells me that they never settled/discussed this with Skiba behind closed doors, which is shady as hell in my opinion.
It's cool to see two guys handle things nicely. I really hope it was chill and that Matt's happy to see their new successes.
I hope the new album has a couple of songs with MARK, TOM, and MATT on the vocals. It would sound amazing!

Thank you Matt for keeping the band alive! His albums were great. I really wish they could keep him on and stay a 4-piece with vocal harmonies, but I'm glad it seems to be an amicable situation.
I'm not the biggest Blink fan but it's refreshing to see musicians acting with so much love and respect for each other during this changeover.

Klinghoffer getting replaced with frusciante was annoying both albums with Klinghoffer sounded like rhcp was going back to its root little by little by having much more punkier type of music with amazing funkier bass lines the last album they have just done last year was really bad for rhcp it wasn't as good as the getaway and everything before it and that really sucks

Tom coming back to Blink-182 is awesome but it killed my dream of the band being 4 members. Hopefully they'll reunite with Matt someday for more music, and if they do they better not title the song or songs as "featuring Matt Skiba" because that would destroy all the respect that Tom gave to Matt with the letter he wrote/posted...

I'm sure Matt knew from day 1 that Tom would eventually come back and accepted his fate. He's in another great successful band so I'm sure he knows Blink isn't his band and is just thankful to be a part of them. I was reluctant at first but i grew to accept and respect matt more for keeping blink in the running, thank you Matt and welcome back my boi Tom! ❤
I've just seen My Chemical Romance and the pre-sale tickets were outrageously expensive. It was great, but I hate it when the tickets are that pricey. Not fair to young kids who don't have a job.
I saw MCR too and the presale tickets were half what blink tickets cost! It’s crazy the “cheap seats” are 350$+ for blink,MCR was like 120$
They should keep Matt in the band but I’m sure they wouldn’t want to split the loot. Tom ran out of money so he’s back to refill the bank account so he can go chase aliens.

Matt was an excellent addition to blink, his vocals seriously fit blinks sound I think.
California is such a good album given the circumstances. I truly love the entire track listing. Skiba can be proud of that one.

I’m happy they are back together as the band I grow up listening to as a young kid. Got to say thanks to Matt for helping Blink continue there music an keeping them going during the time Tom was gone. Now what’s got me is I wanted to finally get to see the band in Boston next year. But it will once again be delayed due to prices of ticket that are not even floor seat they are $300 for one ticket up higher than floor . Dream was crushed when I seen this on the website. Hope one day I’ll be able to see you live-Blink Rules
Matt was the definition of a pinch hitter who stepped up under pressure and delivered big, big time. Loved him in alkaline trio, loved his time with blink, and blessings for his future projects man
I thought it was super awesome that Mark and Travis thought of Skiba when they were looking for someone to play in Blink. (Im assuming it was Mark and Travis idea to ask Matt) lol.. I like Blink but I like Alkaline Trio more than Blink.. It's awesome that after so many years and different projects Tom is back playing with Mark and Travis!! I'm also super pumped that Matt is back full time with Alkaline Trio and I can't wait for new music from those guys!! What a unbelievable experience and opportunity for Matt to play with Blink but me personally I think Matt's style fits so much better in A.T.. Hopefully A.T. will gain a ton of new fans who may not know about them because of Matt's time Playing with Blink 182. Also it's so awesome the respect shown from both Tom and Matt.. 🤘

I LOVE Matt. California is by far one of my favourite albums ever and his contribution in it is so important. I had the chance to see him with blink in concert and it was great! Matt will always be a blink member to me :)

I’ve seen Blink 182 live a few times and always thought they were lacking something (a second guitarist). It would make sense to keep him at least on tour. It’ll give Blink a more full bodied sound and they’ll be able to play songs off the last couple albums they recorded with Skiba.
Or just pick a good guitar player who is more on travis level of instrument playing. Matt should do his Alkaline Trio. I think thats his best work so far.

Man I would have loved a four man blink 182. Matt gave a very interesting and different flavor to the band.
I am an old school Blink-182 fan since dude ranch but there were some great songs on both the records skiba was a part of. I hope they still play some of those songs. I am pretty sure Matt knew that this day would happen. It would be cool to see the 4 of them to unite for a shoe at any given point in time.
Just subscribed. The prices are definitely disheartening, but I've yet to see them with Tom. I always thought I was a Mark guy when I was actually a Tom guy. If I can just hear Tom sing dumpweed live, I'll be happy.

Matt Skiba's a damn classy man. Alkaline Trio was one of my first introductions to pop punk and punk rock, as was blink, so it's great seeing them end on such good terms.
Class act by Matt. He was a great part of Blink and I enjoyed the 2 albums he worked on. I hope he gets Alkaline Trio back on the road, because they're a great band and I'd probably be able to afford to go to that one, unlike the Blink show! I've been a fan of Blink since 1998, never seen them live. Still have my unused ticket from the 2001 UK tour that got cancelled. Since then, studies, career, family and finances have never allowed me to see them. Was so excited by the reunion and tour announcement, but i have been well and truly priced out of going. I used to go to so many concerts back in the early 2000's and saw some huge bands like Chili Pappers and Foo Fighters in their prime for £15-20 a ticket. These days even the smaller bands charge £60 a ticket, and if you want to see Blink? Be prepared to pay £150..... Kids these days will never enjoy the experience I had in my teens going to 3 or 4 shows a week and discovering new bands

I loved Matt, I grew up on enima of the state but nine was probably my favorite album blink has done. He will be missed in blink but happy Tom found his way home

Matt has always been a cool guy. Now, as someone who uploaded one of those crappy song + album art videos for an old Alkaline Trio song like 14 years ago or whatever, I hope to hear more from them in the next year too if possible.
