Skip to 7:47 for information of the Zorro key switches :) Sorry for the sibilance in the audio! Also another thing that I missed in the video:
Thanks to GM 1193 for pointing this out in the comments "Interestingly, there is a programming mode for the arrow keys. I didn't know this, but if you press the fn+f9 key while in the arrow/ wasd key, and the mode allows you to change which keys you want in that mode."
Today we check out a mechanical keyboard from Ajazz. This is another budget board, however it has a unique size, layout, and look - with a nice clean aesthetic. Although one thing I forgot to mention was that I wish the Ajazz branding on the space bar wasn't there.
I also took the time to customise these a bit with some paint. I guess I could have gone a step further, and switch around the keycaps, now that I think about it.

I go to Rocket Jump Ninja for mice and you for keyboard's. You're both amazing at what you do, thank you for all you've done :)

Love that TaeKeyboards does alot of budget keyboards and even reviews local brands here like Rakk and I love this channel for that eyy
Z reviews for headphones dude. The holy trinity
Today the keycaps are much better than before, and the keys feel very soft and light. I have been using the keyboard for a month and I love it. Great Review!
Thanks for this! Besides being very useful and informative, this is beautifully shot. Great work!
I want this font on every keyboard.

Looks like it finally arrived. Fantastic video as always.
I have own my AK33 for 2 years. Well made. Good product!
Same!
Ghost Dogg I was going to get it when I read on redit that zorro switches are absolutely SHIT and on the redit post many people approved that so I went on to CZcams to see what people like this guy have to say about the switches and he’s pretty satisfied with the switches so now I’m confused so what about you. You had this keyboard for so long so I believe you used other mechanical keyboard in your life right? So what do you really think about the switches do you honestly recommend the keyboard? From all the keyboards I saw in my life this is the most sexy one and I want to get it but if the switches are shit I will just have to keep looking for the one.
Oster JP it really isnt. Its all personal preference. I got this and had it for 3 months, im a competitive gamer and works perfect for me. Nothing wrong wih switches
@@-OsterJP- It works for me. I'm not finicky..i'm not a connoisseur . I used name brands in all my years. For the price its works for me. Though there is a slight looseness to the keys over time , 2 years.
Now the keyboard have "Ajazz" switches and not "Zorro". Some people says they are renamed Outemu or Kaihl switches, remain a mystery.
Very in depth review, a great help in deciding the keyboard to buy - I ended up buying this one mostly to do with this review. Loving the keyboard so far and would recommend :P
In terms of extras (thought I'd list them as they appear to be particularly erratic) I only got the mousepad but a completely different one to this (obviously don't care, i only bought the keyboard lol)
Haha, luck of the draw I guess. I've got another one in, but the RGB one, and it comes with a completely different brush and a white keycap puller :)
Armadillo28 I know I’m 2 years late, but is the keyboard still good??
UltraKevin yeah mate I brought like a month and a half ago and can only recommend it. Absolutely amazing and the noise when you press a key is wonderful
I just got this for christmas and I am very happy with it I also got a g602 mouse.
What color did you get?
For those thinking of buying one now, they have changed the font to a slightly shittier one
Ik just bought one 🤡
perfect
i found one with the same font as the one in the video (if it is different i couldn't notice) and actually has RGB backlighting, definitely getting once i got the cash:

Just bought the white ajazz ak33 keyboard in fact im typing this message with it. So happy with this product i bought it because of this video and I have come back to time this because i am soooo happy with this keyboard and it lights up a bright blue im more than happy so worth it. :)
Nice review. Thanks for pointing out the tolerance issues with the switches. Will be looking for something else as a result.
I've bought my first mechanical keyboard on a budget, the keyboard bug had bit me. I used to work with a guy called Bartek and he was a keyboard geek. He got me into it!
I had the AK33 (white with blue switches) delivered yesterday so I've been using it for a full day now. The build quality seems to be very good, no issues at all there. I find the Zorro blue switches to not be nearly as loud as the many videos that play the sound of it... perhaps because they have the microphone right next to the keyboard. The sound is more like a light clicking sound,. It is a lighter sound than those old IBM keyboards., and lack the bottom thunking sound. Also the actuation point is very high, thus bottoming out to be an uncommon occurrence. The force necessary seem light too. I've had a Filco majestouch TKL with cherry MX brown switches (for a year) and the Zorro blues on this keyboard are lighter, actuate higher and bottom out less. So for typing, it is faster - especially since the travel time on the stroke is much less to hit actuation. With my Filco, at the end of the work day my hands are tired. After a day with this, my hands were not tired (and I also tended to bottom out on the Filco with almost every keystroke). The only downside with the AK33 are the following: I need a wrist rest to prevent me from accidentally hitting keys by mistake, and the backlighting is too bright even at the lowest setting, the backlighting mode resets itself when the power is turned off, and I only have the breathing and full-on modes (for some reason it lacks the other ones). I don't care about all the silly lighting modes anyways, they are a worthless distraction - however I do wonder if this is a sign of other problems to come. I tried downloading the software off their site to fix the problem, but all they offer are drivers and no software to manage the keyboard, perhaps someone could offer the software for me to download from them. The shipment also came without the mouse pad and no instructions. I am really enjoying the 75% factor (the footprint is even smaller than the Filco majestouch @ TKL), and the right shift key was not a problem after 10 minutes of getting used to it. If it was a year ago and I had to use my money to choose between the Filco and the AK33, I would choose the AK33 - especially because it does almost everything better in terms of typing speed, lightness of pressure and tactile feedback, and especially since it's about half the price. However, only time will tell if these switches hold up. I've also not experienced any perceptible difference in key pressure between keys. So far so good!
Youre able to turn off the lighting right?
Yes. That's the mode I usually have it too, as even on the dimmest setting the light is way too bright even with white fluorescent office lights on.
Does this keyboard feature N-key rollover, or is there a limit to how many buttons are detected when you press multiple keys at once?
Can’t believe I read this.
I also have all the same problems
Ive been using this board for a year. Its pretty good for the price.
Nice to see a review that isn't a sales pitch. Subbed
i just got this keyboard its pretty small but its great if u dont want a loud keyboard but overall its great

I really enjoy your reviews, very informative. Have you tried the Viewsonic KU520 ?
+Duc-Tai Tran Thanks man. And no I haven't. I did think about it though, since the prices always change and I saw it for only 27AUD which is like 20US. But the price went back up.
But I concluded that it would probably be approximately the same as the others that are similar. I'm unsure on the keyswitches though.
Bruh these mini keyboards look so good wtf
Just revisiting an old video, love the reviews! You got me into mech keyboards which is amazing. Also what microphone do you use?
He use laxative x12 microphone
I have one of these keyboards, I switched to all gateron browns. interestingly, there is a programming mode for the arrow keys. I didn't know this, but if you press the fn+f9 key while in the arrow/ wasd key, and the mode allows you to change which keys you want in that mode. I'm like you, I don't use anything more than just solid light, but it's interesting. Nice video
Ahh very interesting, I had no idea. It doesn't help when their isn't concise English instructions lol. I'll note this in the description :)
Gateron Brown's are awesome switches btw! and many thanks.
yeah, I didn't know that either, it was more so an accident. After breaking a few of the keycaps (stems?(, I switched to blank keycaps, and it was more so a thing of accident.
I really really liked your review. You know your stuff!
Hey buddy, once again awesome review you do know your stuff. I must say having owned this keyboard for almost 7 months now i absolutely love the feel of the keys. The shift key was one of my only gripes because i kept missing it when writing code but i ended up getting used to it. Might do the back cover paint job as well since i absolutely hate the glossy finish on it.
+Kyriakos Kokkinos Thanks. And yeh, the feel of the keys is super smooth. If you do paint it, make sure to wait a good while before you try to put back the fold up feet back on. I learned the hard way :)
+Kyriakos Kokkinos Θα σε ρωτήσω στα Ελληνικά. Επειδή ενδιαφέρομαι σοβαρά για αυτό το πληκτρολόγιο, έχεις τα μπλε ή τα μαύρα και πως σου φαίνονται σαν ποιότητα;
I had the black version for a year then it broke now I have the white one
is the keyboard loud?
@@wokandax0001 It's pretty loud. I think they make a hot-swappable version now so maybe you can get that one and switch the keys to gateron yellows.
where is the sound test ? the feel test ? that's obviously the most important part of the review, that's supposed to help a buyer make a decision
Great job on the silver base paint!
hands down the best bang for the buck compact mech, to this day..
just make sure to get the RGb version, and use the slightly hard to find software to custonize it.

can i change the switches to gateron byw ?
@@haiqalpilus yes of course, if you can solder.

is the blue switch clicky?: im going to buy two of these one with white keycaps and one black, simply because i can swap the keycaps and have an all white keyboard whith white leds which is what im looking for
Synthematix omg I mean I am late and it won’t change anything anyways I guess but.. what? For about 70 dollars you get way better mechanical keyboards, there even are white ones with white lightning e - element z88 or drevo Excalibur for example
Are they hot swappleble

thanks for the review!
I am currently typing on this keyboard, i got the black one with white backlights, I actually feels really nice and excellent for gaming
yessssss,ik i'm 4 years late but can you remember if the keyboard has a rattly spacebarr?????
I hate how the white one only has 3 modes because I bought the keyboard before I watched this
Grabbed one of the RGB AK33 boards from Massdrop. For $50 and tenkey-less, it'll be a great emergency board. I don't expect it to wow me at price.
Very good information, thanks!
i love noppoo because the F key lineup with the number keys, in wow arena is very useful.
now i have moved on to my second keyboard after 7 years, K65.
I just got the SK61 (CK62) a 60% mechanical keyboard that is also made by Ajazz although under a different brand, it also has Zorro switches, red ones. I had the one that you reviewed in the video, I ended up returning it as it had a distinct metal clanging when you were typing. That one had blue switches and this 60% has red. The 60% one does have the metallic ring too albeit not as much. The red switches are much lighter than other red switches I've used in the past and I'm still debating whether or not to keep the board or return it for either the same board with brown switches or a different board entirely. Gonna give it another week.
Does it work on PS4 I plug it in and nothing happens if you know please reply Thank you

i just had mine delivered yesterday (mine didnnt have that mousepad but came with the brush and keycap puller) and so far im really satisfied and happy with it. got the blue switch version.
though the right shift key being small and the arrow keys being bigger feels weird. i type/code with eyes on the screen never on the keyboard and i always misfire on that right shift key and arrow keys. hope i get use to it soon
Ajazz AK33 or Drevo Gramr? I prefer the look of Ajazz but the Gramr layout. Which has better switches? My ideal keyboard would be Ajazz AK33 with Drevo Gramr layout.

Great review but maybe look into a de-esser for your narration. Set up correctly and it will take out those shrill S sounds that could be heard throughout the narration.
Thanks for bringing this up. I've been meaning to fix up my audio for a while, but haven't got round to it. I'll look into it :)
you're welcome buddy!
TaeKeyboards umm excuse me, how is the condition of the keyboard now?
Does the pcb support any other switches like gateron, cmx, etc???
I waited a long time for the Ajazz AK33 RGB from China. I'm disappointed that the switches were so spongy and activated LONG before you ever got near the bottom. The construction of it is cheap however, the RGB lighting on it is beautiful and the design aesthetics are perfect. Its just so unfortunate that I can't get it with the blue switches I have in my Zhuque keyboard. The problem with that board is that its a litttle bit bigger, it's white and it has kind of dim fixed LED lighting per row. So I think Im going to do the sanding of the keycaps like you did and let it serve as desktop art.
i have the white keyboard but i dont have the waterfall LED can you explain me why ??
The only problem I had with this vid was you didnt include the what the keys sound like, I dont really like the *click click click* sound but other than that, great review
Just orders this keyboard for my dream set up I’m remodeling my setup stick around for my yt I’ll be posting there
And is it good?
@@Hudix only downside is it’s very clicks otherwise it’s amazing the permformance is perfect
Nice! Dig the blue paint job a lot. Looks like a decent compact budget board.
This is how you do coloring Ajazz!
What are the differences between the "Black Axis" (Cherry MX Black equivalent) and the "Blue Axis" (Cherry MX Blue equivalent)? I type a lot as a programmer, but I do occasionally game a lot too. Although I prefer not waking up anyone at night. I want something that takes less force for the key to register. Which switch type should I go with?
Side note: Great review! I have been looking for a small, but compact keyboard as I don't have much desk space. I subscribed, so I hope that helps you out, plus I get to watch your videos early *notification bell, haha* Keep it up :-)
Thanks for the support mate!
Blacks are heavier than blues, and have no bump or click to them. So they're much quieter than blues. But they are still loud when you bottom put your keystroke and return.
Reds are the lighter option, but not available with this model. You can check out many sound comparisons online, and ways to dampen the sound.
Thanks!
Don't know if you ever check for new comments, but i would like to see you make a review video for the Keycool 84 keyboard. Would be awesome to see you really make one

I just got an ajazz ak510 keyboard. It has black switches although no zorro was written to them instead it has “Ajazz” on all the switches.
Great review, already ordered this keyboard, think is cheapest mechanical keyboard on market atm, indeed glossy plastic is horrible, gonna painting it as well, is it possible to find replacement keys like esc one ?
+AkcesoriumPC Thanks :) Yep, it is one of the cheapest, that doesn't look absolutely terrible. I have seen keyboards with after market key caps with this layout. However, I haven't looked for them myself. I'm unsure on how easy it will be to find individual key caps in such sizes. But I would think it would be quite difficult.
Although, I do suspect it would be much easier in maybe the U.S, as those sort of things aren't around where I'm from :)
Yup this finally help me decide which gaming keyborad i want they both look epic but the Black veriosn is more Expensive where i live and white one cheaper so i got lucky :D
Hey, uh. Before you buy this keyboard, I feel like I should give you a warning.
The keyboard I bought was the Zorro blue switches, and It looks exactly how it would seem.
But I need to warn you, when hitting X or Y, It'll press twice. (with the blue switches at least.)
Like YY and XX.
It's roughly a 50 percent chance of it happening, but it's really annoying.
Luckily, I have a script in autohotkey preventing this happening right now.
I heard that this isn't a problem with the black switches, but I still recommend you stay away from this keyboard.
Like the video states, the actuation force of this keyboard is really light.
If you're coming from another keyboard, this isn't going to be a fun experience.
I'm probably going to ask for a refund, or straightup replace the switches.
I really wish there was a 75% keyboard that has an ISO layout
Hey mate would you recommend the Ajazz ak33 or the E-element Z-88? Cheers
I wonder which one is better, too. But as the ajazz doesn't have this ugly "gamer" fond I'll likely pick up this one.
DrLarsson I think the gamer font looks awesome on the white version of the Z88. But still, which one is better?
I know its been 10 months since you first posted the comment, but in my honest opinion, get the AK33 RGB version of this keyboard. You'll be amazed by how many lighting modes there are on the keyboard.
phil wu I was asking myself the same question this morning as I desperately need a new keyboard and these seem like the two best 75% layout boards in the $50 price range. After watching several unboxings/reviews of both boards and looking at listings for different variants of each on several sites, I've come to this conclusion.
If you're in the market for the cheapest quiet linear switch you can find and can't live without double-shot injected keycaps then go for the black switch variant of the Z-88 since you can currently pick it up on Amazon for under $45 USD (currently the cheapest of all the RGB Z-88's i could find). Otherwise, pick up this one. For around the same price you get everything the Z-88 offers as far as functionality and portability goes plus tons more lighting options since the lighting on the AK33 is true RGB, unlike the Z-88. That's the one I'm most likely going to go with.
Do Not Pass GO!
Ive heard there are people who have problems with the ak33 keycaps wearing off, its loud sound and weird layout. What are your thoughts on these aspects vs Z88?
Any feedback if I should get this in 2021?
Saw this keyboard bundled with a mouse and mat for $50

Is it just me, or is the plastic back glued to the metal plate near the port? Whenever I try to take the keyboard apart (i want a vinyl wrap on the back or something) the plastic is stuck to the metal, so im hesitant to apply force and try to rip it off. Will i break anything if i pull the plastic off with force?
I can t change the mode of the lightning wtf
So at least of it works that's good bruh
If*

would the black version with only white led have similar effects to the white? Or will it have similar rgb profiles to the black with red/orange rgbs
I bought the black one but the RGB's dont work, it didnt even come with a manual so i could try to do something, i searched about them and some videos said it was Fn+F8 but it didnt work and some said it needed a software, i downloaded the software but since i have an OSX it didnt open even with Wine, idk what to do.
Theres also a variant that doesn't have LEDs. are you sure you dont have that variant?
