For those bitching that this is "too fast": Cash recorded the song several times in different tempos and keys. By far his best known version of this, and the most commercially successful, was the 1968 Live from Folsom recording. It was in the key of F and only moderately slower than this version.
To those who say this is too fast.
You're probably thinking of the more well known and later released studio version when he was older. Back in the 60's when he recorded live at locations (and ws on quite a few drugs) many of his songs were performed much faster than the more well known newer version, probably in part because he was high as a kite.
Anyway my point is that this song was performed at this speed many times before the slower version many people know was done.

Holy shit thank you so much. Finding a good karaoke version of this that sounds similar to the original is so hard. Most of them are his later styles or something close but not quite.
It in F here and on guitar tabs I've seen, but live at Folsom Prison it's in E.

+ecavuto I think they do that for copyright infringement. All karaoke songs are like that and I have heard it is for copyright from a few sources.
+ecavuto Yup Copyright infringement. But lets take a quick look @ that. You get free Karaoke songs. Someone had to go in, remove the words (some are better than others@ this), then post it. Now, These songs belong to the people that Wrote them. They deserve payment don't you think? Yet, they allow slightly altered versions so people like you and me can do some free Karaoke here on CZcams. All they ask is that people buy some songs. They are only .99 cents lol Not much, and you can just pick the ones you like best, and the artists get paid a pittance. I mean...like .9 cents........ So really, no reason to complain. You get these free here. Nothing in life is free. That's a lie told to the spoiled millennial generation so they will vote for Democrats. Go. Write your own song. Work your ass off on it. Pour your soul into it. Then go try and find someone to make it famous, or do it yourself. Then, as your trying to feed your family, have people take YOUR song, put it on You Tube. Have thousands + try and copy it so they don't have to pay for it, and YOU go hungry for the winter. Then. Go to You Tube. And listen to someone complain because it's not the EXACT copy of the one you want, even though you didn't pay anything to listen to it. Right here. On You Tube. I wonder how you might feel then??? Just something to think about. The.....other side of the coin if you will.
Maybe you're thinking of the 1968 live version from the Folsom album. That's when Johnny dropped the key to F. At Sun Records in 1955 Johnny recorded it in F-sharp.
