ID theft is the modern curse. And the remedy is often problematic. A cautionary tale. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thanks Steven 😁
Oh crap Mr TAYM. I really feel for you on this, it winds me up enough when someone hacks my FB account. I really don’t know how I would cope if someone stole my identity 🙈😢. I like the simplicity of the phone camera, though I did enjoy “proper” photography many years ago. I actually sold some framed photos I took which were exhibited in a studio. The subject matter, was Burslem in Stoke - on - Trent. Anyway, great mutter, awful road conditions, oh and it is very stormy and wet up here today 😢
Brilliant on selling the photos 😁 thanks Ian 😁
Unbelievable m8. I could only imagine the drama that would cause . The bastards 😤. Enjoyed the mutter👍
Thanks IT 😁
Your identify fraud experience made my blood boil Mr T....I hear stories like yours more and more, the long term affects it has on some people can be totally devastating ...I think it's great yr muttering on yr experience 👏👏
Thanks Willie 😁
TAYM what a nightmare the fraud, not least in the time it's taken you to start to resolve when you could be out riding the Suffolk lanes, and enjoying a breakfast or two instead. Good luck with sorting it all out, and thnks for keeping the chanel going through it all. It's appreciated.
Thanks MrR 😁
Good Lord TAYM! Bless your heart. 😮 it’s a crazy world we live in. Technology is great until,it’s not 🤦
Thanks TR 😁
What an absolute bloomin nightmare TAYM! 😠We now do so much on line and it's not unreasonable to expect these large organisations like O2 to rigorously protect our accounts. I sincerely hope you can sort this out soon and recover your credit rating and other criteria soon. Wonderful photographs you took of the snow drops and the Triumph. Motorcycling and photography are such complimentary hobbies aren't they? You clearly have a keen eye for a great photograph and take some great shots, if you're looking for some great tips and techniques to expand your photography arsenal, CZcamsr Mike Browne does some excellent tutorials and he's also a fellow biker @MikeBrowne. See you on Friday's mutter 👍
Thanks MM 😁 I shall have a look at MB 😁
Crikey TAYM what an awful experience for you. I do hope it gets sorted soon and that those responsible are brought to justice.
Love the idea of a film camera, I remember the anticipation of seeing the results and the inevitable stickers stating “Over Exposed”.. 📷 🤣👍
Or getting a free film on return of prints….. oh they were the days….😉
😂😂😂 yes 😂😂 thanks Foxy 😁
😂😂
I'm subscribed & receive notifications (uploads between 2AM & 5AM. GMT-5), but never got those 2 videos? It was very informative & obviously quite an annoying & pesky problem.I hope you & Mrs. TAYM are doing OK - finances can be stressful at the best of times. Motorcycle addiction is real, TAYM!!! Haha (that's why the 2nd T. Tiger 900 wrap-up was losing light!) Be well and if I can assist, I will.
Thanks DCG 😁 CZcams can be strange like that 🤔 frustrating 😁 😂😂
This was a philosophical and aesthetic mutter! Just think about the number of people who have never had a roll of film developed! But I know...quite well! 👍 Another interesting aspect of your journey today is that there seems to be no disparity between the pictures of the wonderful flowers and the motorbike. They seem, somehow, to fit together in some way...no incongruence at all. Well done... 😊
😂😂😂 thanks MA 😁
Very sorry to hear all about the identity theft. Hope they get their comeuppance in the end. But the good news is you've joined the analogue revolution! That's something I wholeheartedly embrace on my other channel @Chromagraphphotoart where I can often be seen with various old cameras including one like the Victorians used to have. Some of my pictures are even quite good, even if I say so myself. 😀Just watch out for deteriorating light seals on old cameras and If I can help in any way, just ask.
Thanks CMD 😁 very much appreciated 😁
A lovely mutter Taym, combining motorcycles and photography, my two favourite hobbies along with walking in the Lake District. Sorry to hear about the identity scammers.
😂😂😂😂 thanks AS 😁
An interesting mutter TAYM. I could hear the frustration in your voice and rightly so. Why are victims of such crimes treated so poorly? I really hope you can get this sorted sooner rather than later.
Thanks BH 😁
Hey my first SLR back in 1993. Cracking camera👍
Thanks Ant 😁
What a bloody nightmare for you mate and thanks for timely warning to us all. Large Organisations ie banks and telecommunications providers as well as any government entity are not our friends. Time to go back and slow this all down, look at the flowers, take photographs with proper cameras, ride old motorcycles, drive old cars, use cash, appreciate simple things, limit device use. Thats my new plan...hang in there buddy. thanks TAYM
I had a mate who was at work & a man came to enquire about something but it was really a distraction while his girlfriend sneaked out back into the lockers & stole his wallet.HE had Paywave & you allowed to do $80 purchases without a pin to save time😲& they went to gas ⛽ station,
supermarkets multiple times.
At end of the day HE discovered what happened that they stole his wallet so he rang up & cancelled card but not before they'd cleaned his account out of $2000.They also had cameras 🎥 at work & forward the film to Police who identified them straight away.
They done it before just don't care & get court ordered to repay cash at $20 a week & pay a few weeks get caught again & eventually end up in jail & don't pay anymore reparations.Bring back cash I say. When we had Cyclone Gabrielle there were hardly any money machines operating & no eft-pos & Supermarkets & gas stations were only taking cash only. There was 1 money machine working in my town luckily & I drew out $500 cash to buy groceries, petrol etc alot of people missed out & power was off in alot of places. They had to bring in heaps of cash & go on the radio telling which machines were operating & no eft-pos working. Most Supermarkets & gas stations have back up power supply but that doesn't apply to eft-pos & cash was king again it was like living back in the 80's early 90's.It showed everyone how vulnerable we are to technology & glad I draw enough cash out to last me a week since 1990 I done that & since Cyclone keep a few hundred dollars at home incase something like that happens again.Alot of area's were under water & Napier was cut off for 2weeks there was looting shotguns pulled small communities policing themselves.Once in 500yr Cyclone a major disaster lucky it hit a less populated area of Island imagine if it hit Auckland or Wellington etc🤯.
Hang in there TAYM 🦒 it should sort it self out eventually the wheels of beauocrocy move slowly.
Thanks DT 😁 that’s my plan too 😁 use tech just for the fun stuff 😁
Thanks RR 😁
I’m so sorry to hear this Mr TAYM. I went through it in the early 2000’s and it took me years to clear up. I can totally relate.
Analog is definitely better than all this tech, except we wouldn’t have your wonderful videos without the tech. Double edged blade.
Do take care and I hope this resolves for you soon.
Thanks PW 😁 absolutely agree but we need to think more carefully about where and how it’s used 😁
Hope you get it sorted TAYM. On the subject of photos, I’ve been a keen photographer since about the age of 8 years. I use a number of cameras now as well as a phone. Now you don’t need to use a film camera to take and save or print photos you can transfer them to a separate hard drive, I have a few because I’m belt and braces so keep two copies just in case. It plugs into my phone uses a separate power source usually a power bank and I can transfer any of the photos I want to keep. I can also transfer from the camera to the hard drive or to the phone/iPad and then keep on the hard drive. I probably have over 300000 now.
Thanks SW 😁
Sad to hear of your identity issues. My son is a fraud specialist for a group of regional banks and branches here in the US. The attention each financial entity is willing to invest in fraud can vary widely. In a lot of cases the bank just refunds the monies and goes no further. My son has worked on cases that spanned the US. Some law enforcement agencies can seem uninterested while others take the problem very seriously. Occasionally you will find someone who really cares about your situation and will go the extra mile to help. Often you just feel like you’re on your own with no one to turn to. I hope you find someone who will understand how important it is to work with you to resolve all the issues they can and help you connect with the proper parties to make the other things right.
Thanks AD 😁 that is exactly what I have found 😁 HSBC have been amazing, no one else wants to know, or at least it appears that way. Even HMRC didn’t care😡 they hacked my account so now have my passport number, driving licence number, know my National insurance number, how much I earn, who I work for etc etc etc 😡
yeah the weird thing is when its criminals doing it, the banks allow them to open multiple accounts with 10 credits cards each and have the ability buy a house on each card with 15 minutes and when you go into the bank to take 10 quid out in cash or put it in relatives account account they lock you in a room and get the shock gear out
Yes, maddening isn’t it 😁 thanks Johnny 😁
Afternoon Taym 😢 what you are going through must be everyones nightmare. Well, it would certainly be mine. I hope all is well. Love the new cameras 📷 we will all be climbing in to are lofts now and dusting our SLRs off and buying a couple of rolls of 35mm film 😊 I bet Ian will already be doing a video 😂😂😂
I do hope so😁 an analogue revolution 😂😂😂 thanks AR 😁
What a nightmare this identity thing is TAYM… it scares the hell out of me tbh…. The digital world isn’t always a better world…. But we people can’t live without the digital things anymore I’m afraid. Looking forward to the update about your horror story😢
Yes, we have fallen too deep to get out of the digital shit hole 😁 I hope the same doesn’t happen with electric vehicles 😱 thanks Lilian 😁
horrendous situation. Really hope you manage to get at least some resolutions. Interesting too see the analogue gear. I still have my original Canon SLRs, maybe one day when i have more time I will dig them out and give them an airing. Funny how we come to rely on the phone as our main camera even with mountains of DSLR gear at home. As a software engineer I guess i should be careful what I say, but it does make it easy for me to appreciate the joy of simplicity and I think one of the reasons I cant get into bikes with TFT screens lol
Thanks TT 😁 electronics has its place but I can’t help think we need to control it a bit better than we do 🤔 simplicity is peaceful I find 😁
Sorry to see you're having all this aggro TAYM , a relative was victim to a phone scam a couple of years ago , we tracked the scammers to a town in this country as they didn't cover their steps very well, we gave our evidence to the police, and they wouldn't take it any further as the amount of money taken was below a set amount where they justify following the crime up! Unbelievable! Hope you get sorted anyway.
Interesting content with the camera's on the positive side though, I like taking photographs myself but haven't had a proper camera for years.
All the best Mel 👍
Thanks Mel 😁 yes, I have found that nobody wants know, simply not interested 😡 Still life goes on and you have to look for the positives 😁 yes, can’t wait to see what the photos turn out like 😁
6:50 Exactly the same thing happened to me with Ee absolute bloody nightmare.
It's an inside job
Ended up taking 1500 quid from my bank account, got it all back but absolute nightmare
Thanks Nick 😁 yes, complete nightmare 😡
I found that tale of identity theft very disturbing.
The snowdrop shots in the video were lovely.
It is very disturbing 🤔 it has made me rethink a lot of how I organise my life I can tell you 😁 thanks RG 😁
What an absolute horror story bud, l hope in some way talking to us about it helps you cope. Love the cameras, l have still got a few film cameras knocking about some of them probably have half used film still in them. Hope you get those problems sorted soon, take care 👍
That’s exciting, you should unlock those memories and get them developed 😁 thanks MP 😁
Taym crimes that take place how should we say : electronically as Mike Tyson has stated social media has made ya'll comfortable with disrespecting people and not being punched in the face.....
Exactly 😁 thanks Jay 😁
I've tried going back to an older style phone. I got a folding Doro phone with old style buttons. However unless you only want to send some basic texts or actually make a phone call they're not much good for online. I mostly keep my phone off line and don't do any banking or shopping on it. That said if your number is given away to someone else there's obviously nothing you can do to stop it being used. The law needs updating by the sound of it whereby as you said it's not illegal to steal an identity. Madness.
Thanks SC 😁 exactly right 😁 it not the phones, it’s the processes and speed that things are done 🤔 it’s a crazy world we live in 😁
you definitely need some nice rides to keep your head clear, hope you get everything sorted out asap. Re, analogue , we ask for more and more things we really don,t need in every aspect of our lives these days don,t we ? In a time of quick shifters, tft , abs, traction control, active suspension i really think this is why so many love royal enfield bikes and classics for their purity, more tat does not improve the ride in my opinion. It makes me smile when i see car ads on tv and the big selling feature is how big the screen is and that it connects to your phone 🤣🤣. I am not a luddite😉and i too have my head turned by gadgets but i learned a long time ago they are not "needed" we are just told we "need" them. Enjoy the camera , it,s incredible the nice "out of fashion" quality stuff you can get for great prices 👍👍🏍
Thanks PW 😁 yes, all the old ways require thought and I think that’s a good thing 😁 thanks PW 😁
Down with the kids there TAYM. They're all into film cameras at the moment. Just bought my lad the same camera as yourself. From the 1990s for £80. The lens' are transferable to the new digital cameras. Thought that was amazing in these throwaway times. Enjoy 👍
That’s me SH 😁😂😂😂😂 hip TAYM 😂😂😂 going to start hanging out with FD in hip cafes now😁😂😂
What a HORROR STORY -OMG
I think you have done all your Subscribers a service by airing this as I for one will be checking ways to secure my information
Hope you get back to whatever is normal soon
Appreciate this vlog in particular
And as always
Regards from Florida
Thanks JF 😁
Absolutely NO Drainage.
Not a drop 😡 thanks Mike 😁
G’day TAYM, this modern world frustrates me no end. F%#*ing low life people, stealing anything, let alone your identity 😱🤷🏻♂️. I had an uncle suffered a total identity theft probably about 15 or so years ago, I only found out after his death, the nursing home he was living in advised me when I was trying to sort out his things, arranging his funeral 🤬. Anywho mate I hope it all ends well for you, my thoughts are with you. Good luck with your new hobby. Is film still available in old blighty? I had to give the film photography up many years ago because I couldn’t purchase film. That canon was a class camera in its day. ….. Good thing you are an experienced sailor, required skills on those roads 🙄🤣🤣🤣. Shiny side up, keep smiling. Take care on those waterways. Hooroo for now cobber🏍👍😎
😂😂 thanks NW 😁 yes, no problem getting film or developing 😁
Sounds like a nice bike.
I think I'd prefer the Guzzi V85 though :)
Yes, another lovely bike 😁 thanks BB 😁
Last year I swopped a 1200 Tiger for a 900 Tiger. When it came to swopping the insurance they wouldn't underwite it because I failed a credit check. I had recently moved. Using the old address which was my parents house. No problems. So bare that in mind.
Thanks Paul 😁 that’s just the problem I’ve had 😁
I hadn't realised the implications of this problem of someone stealing your identity. It must feel like a black cloud hanging over you Taym and with the police uninterested where do you go. You have done well to live with this and keep positive but your frustration must be bursting over. 😟
Thanks John 😁 yes, extremely frustrating 😡
So after watching this video yesterday.....today I'm getting adverts directed to me on the Daily Mail website for second hand Cannon cameras. Our gadgets are listening to us.
Spooky isn’t it 🤔 thanks LS 😁
Absolutely shocking regarding identity theft and the little help on offer when you need it , I hope it all works out for you eventually.on the more positive side , I can definitely see the appeal of riding around looking for suitable locations for a photo with a nice camera
Thanks GCK 😁
Beautiful bike, but what’s nightmare your identity theft is,must be seriously stressful, really hope you get it fixed.
Thanks Barry 😁
Hell's blazes TAYM what a mess and none of it down to you I am "astounded" it seems like you don't really have any redress on this at all really it must be like wading through treacle trying to get anywhere .😮 When you think we have so much info on our phones these days cards and bank stuff it's so risky. So now there is going to be TAYM's photography group channel I'm thinking a couple of good pic's to start with too that rail line pic definitely titled infinity and beyond 😉 and I would bet with all that water about you wish you hadn't gotten rid of Biggles 😉I thought that the GT pro was the one with the spoke wheels and was taller obviously I was wrong on that one . Cheers 👌👍
Thanks Crumb 😁 yes, the rally pro has spokes and taller with my electronics etc 😁
What often luck you've had through no fault of your own, O2 surely must be liable for all of this as well as compensation for the stress caused. I find it very frustrating and concerning that every site we look at requires cookies, which track your activity and share information with others. Even our medical records are now open for scrutiny and marketing, yet we ourselves require written consent to view them. Our devices listen to us, one second were having a conversation about replacing the garden shed, then Bam up comes adverts for sheds. We go into town and as we pass a shop Bam an advert for its sale. I don't link my phone to either my car or bikes, yet my phone tells me I rode X miles on my bike ? It might pay you to get an old fashioned phone.
Thanks GW 😁 yes, I’ve looked at phones that are just phones and couldn’t find anything but then I need a ‘smart’ phone for work and in all reality it wasn’t the phone that was the problem, it was O2 giving the number away despite me telling them 24 hours early not to and that they had been scammed. 😡 I do think we need to just put the brakes on it all a bit. Can you imagine when all cars and bikes are electric 😱
Sorry to hear that the ID theft has not developing too well or fast. I imagine at first that the police will cough the people responsible in a matter of days and everything will be back to normal. I personally don't use too much technology, interconnected stuff and accounts. You are right about the other stuff with digital media, I have lost a ton of footage and few nice videos over the years. Computer fail, HDDs fail too.. Flash banks fail too.. Maybe on CDs with proper storage they can last for many decades. But it's all limited.
You do need some faired more weather protected and practical bike to mix with the others. Because more or less, all of your current bikes are one style/type of naked bike .. I know you love them and that is your style and probably feels not so nice to ride something that you don't like as much.. Like with taking a car to do stuff..
Spot on Stefan 😁 thanks 😁
The submarine video is fine but I prefer the motorcycle videos!😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 thanks TBG 😁
Sorry to hear your story, we live in a world where some people feel it’s acceptable to ruin others lives for gain. It’s become an industry in some countries and I fear it will not improve as we move towards cashless and all on-line everything.
Triumph seems a good all rounder, but not sure the cockpit view is anything special, just looks a bit weak if you know what I mean.
Thanks SN 😁 I think a lot of adventure bikes are starting to look a bit weak , I think they are in a state of change 🤔 if you know what I mean 😁
@@TAYM yes I totally understand, when you picture an adventure bike you see (well I do) a 1250GS, a rugged, mountain killer of a machine, but some of the latest generations are more like a rugged grassy hillock of a machine!
@@stephennewell6628 😂😂😂😂 exactly 😂😂
Unbelievable, all from your phone number. What a nightmare I hope you get it all sorted out soon.
Thanks Chris 😁
You want film cameras, I have a cardboard box full, Canon SLR and half a dozen lenses plus all sorts of others. Great cameras but without your own dark room it costs a fortune to get a film developed. That's if you can find somewhere that develops film, here in Aus film labs are few and far between. You could hav ethem all but the freight cost would be greater than they are worth.😀 I just take the snaps with my phone then edit them on computer and print off on a photo quality printer.
Thanks CH 😁 it’s that simple you print them, most people don’t and I think having a physical copy makes a world of difference 🤔 I don’t know why😁
@@TAYM Something you can just look at and doesn't require several moves on a "device" is more personal.
I can not believe what you are saying what a head ache so sorry to hear this 🤬
Thanks Frank 😁
Yeah that's awful isn't it especially affecting possible job moves and credit score. I had my ebay hacked a few years back and luckily my bank stopped a refund for a fictional camera being refunded through my account. Paypal who i used at the time were completely useless so i closed my account with them and will never use it again. I hope you can resolve the ongoing issues. PS yes that's i great bike, I'd love a triumph!
Thanks SB 😁
Your identity theft sounds nasty and it is frightening, although I don't fully understand it of course. The perpetrators must have obtained passwords once they owned your phone number I suppose. The scams are becoming more sophisticated as we embrace the digital world more fully. I do hope that it all gets sorted for you before long 👍. Photography has been one of my hobbies since my youth. I used to black out the family bathroom and print photos and had to scramble to let my Dad in when he wanted to go for a pee 😁. I long ago moved to digital photography, but not to videography as I love still photos. These days I am an avid wild bird photographer. I had decided that if one of your bikes had to go to make room for a Tiger 900, it would probably be the mighty Thruxton, which although a wonderful beast, is maybe not the most practical bike for todays public roads. However, it seems that your stable will remain stable for now......
Thanks GBD 😁 yes, all safe for now 😁😂😂😂
You saying about o2 TAYM , I've just left 02 after many years as the last month as been awful with them so I'm now with Vodafone. Hope you get soughted. That's why I haven't been commenting.
Thanks MsD 😁 I think they are probably all the same 😡
I do not have telephone banking but there is probably still a great hazard if someone hacks into a company that holds my bank details and my phone number. Especially when the bank will send a text query to my phone if someone tries to withdrawn cash or move it out of my bank. Add to that my phone throws up texts without the need to enter a pin !!! Ease of access has taken us down a crazy path eh? However if the rain continues as global warming/climate change predicts ... you don't need a new bike, you need a boat. Ah! I can see it now ... The backwaters and canals of Suffolk by TAYM The All Year Boatman.
Thanks B 😁 yes, we are so far down the road with it now there is no turning back 🤔 I guess that’s why it’s so important we stop the EV thing getting out of hand, it’s clearly not the answer 😁
I use to take photos on analog camera📷 then got phone 📱 & you're dead right about taking photos on phone & not getting them printed out.I got 2 phones with photos in need of printing out.I often thought about getting another camera 📷 easily fit in my messenger bag too🤔.
Exactly, I have like 30000 on my phone and never really look at them. I have a box of photos I am always looking through 😁 thanks RR 😁
Bonus Railway!
😂😂😂😂
Wow unbelievable TAYM just goes to show all this modern tech is corruptible not like the old days when you knew the bank manager/grocer/policeman. It’s like your cameras old school take a photo and that’s what you got unlike the modern AI were you can change the photo to one you’d prefer 🤔 anyway TAYM carry on that man Caio for now ( chin up lovely boy shoulders back 😉👍🏻)
Thanks HN 😁 scary isn’t it 😁
Just sad bastards but a great mutter as always but I think you need a boat now 🤣
😂😂😂 thanks Frank 😁
Have you thought about doing a mutter on canal boats Mr TAYM..☔️🤣🤣
😂😂😂 thanks MP 😁
So far you are talking my language with this entire conversation. I still write checks on everything. Love cash, fountain pens, typewriters, pen and ink, painting and I try never to use computers to get work done. I don't use clouds, I buy dvds for all my TV entertainment. OK, you understand where I am at.
But here you are on line
Just saying
@@johnfountain8588 best way to learn is online! Who needs schools anymore other then real skilled professions. Not saying technology is bad, but I am old school, don't fix it if it's not broke. But if you can improve a mouse trap, feel free and then let's test it. Better doesn't mean we need to change it in today's world, it means we can get more money from it. I could make my point better if I write a book, but no one would read it below 35 y/o, as they were not tought how to write or read anymore. Are we better?
